EducationRe: What Chances Of Success Does A 2.2 LLB Holder Has? by Calsito: 8:46am On Nov 14, 2017
Honestly, missing out on a higher grade with few points difference can be very painful, but this is not to say that a 2.2 in Law is a bad grade.

To be honest with you, she cannot go to the Law school with this mindset, because the Law school is another ball game entirely. So if I may advise, I'd say she needs to fire up her self esteem.
When she gets to the Law School, she would meet a lot of people having worse grade than hers striving to finish in the top at the law school and as a matter if fact, if she buckles up, work hard, read every day, participate in group activities, ask questions, pray and shun bad companies, I see her excelling at the Law school.

Also, I want to add that I know someone who graduated with a 2.2 in the university and had a first at the Law school, it boils down to self belief for him. To be honest, you cannot underestimate what someone can achieve with a 2.1 at the Law school not to talk of a first class (the opportunities are countless)

Having said all these, in practice she'd discover that grades don't really matter what matters is how you equip and train yourself as a Lawyer. Most of the famous Lawyers never had awesome grades and even if they did, it was their ability to learn new skills, and develop themselves further that brought them to the level they find themselves.
CareerRe: Can An Art Student With D7 In Maths Be Admitted Into Any Nigerian Uni/poly Etc. by Calsito: 4:57pm On Dec 22, 2015
She is safe, since she is an Art student, some schools accept at least a pass in mathematics for courses in Arts. Even OAU accepts pass in mathematics for courses in Art and law, provided that such a one has at least 5 credits in the following subjects: English language; Literature-in-English; Government; CRK/IRK; Yoruba/ Igbo/ Hausa. I know people who gained entry into law in Ife even with E8 in mathematics.
However, she may miss out on some scholarships and maybe later employment opportunities. So she can continue her educational pursuit and then strive to sit for another SSCE later when she feels she has the time to work on her weakness in mathematics.
BusinessRe: Can A Customer Sue Bank For Undeposited Money Lost During Bank Robbery? by Calsito: 9:26pm On Jan 01, 2014
I beg to differ with those that are saying that the Bank owes the Customer a duty of care, raising a plea of duty of care would only be a viable option if the customer's money is already in the bank's care and since you are yet to deposit the money, the bank will not be found liable for the breach of the duty of care, because no contractual transaction has taken place as seen from the facts here, there is no offer, acceptance, consideration and other elements which would have made the contract valid. However, as regards this issue, one may likely sue the bank for not making it's premises safe enough to prevent robbery being a forceable risk.
Legally, even though the bank could be blamed in this case, one needs to know that the court will try to help the bank in this situation because if this was allowed, so many people will utilise this opportunity and make serious demand from the bank, that is, a customer who brought #2k to the bank may likely tell the court that he brought #200k to the bank. So, this particular kind of case may not carry weight in the court of law. (speaking from the angle of Nigerian law of tort, contract and banking)

PhonesRe: Q&a: Why Airtel's BB Subscription Would Stop Working On Other Devices By 3rd Dec by Calsito: 11:29pm On Dec 01, 2013
fr3do: I understand mtn blocking their bis cos it wasn't capped
It is airtel I dont understand,ur plans are capped and slow
It cant be abused
Airtel fall their hand
my thought exactly, they probably did not know that most airtel subscribers only used airtel for surfing the internet while having a main sim from another network.
Nothing in the Ops explanations to justify this, since their bis is not unlimited.

Now we know why his face is like that(wickedness). Once they get what they want, they then show their true colour. Leaders indeed.
Mr Oshiomole, you will face God one day, and if you continue oppressing the poor, fatherless and widow you may also be told to 'GO TO HELL'.
PoliticsRe: FG Directs Federal Universities To Re-Open Immediately by Calsito: 2:39pm On Nov 28, 2013
Mandelaguy: Here comes the resident retard on Nairaland with his i.mbecilic comments as usual.
President Jonathan is the first president to enter into direct negotiations with ASUU. He didn't do it out of weakness but a genuine desire to end the strike and get Nigerian students back to school.

It took the President 13 hours to reach a feasible agreement with ASUU (while you were asleep) and they had an understanding which includes a variation of the unimplementable 2009 agreement that ASUU reached under Yaradua.

President Jonathan told ASUU (and the facts are verifiable) that he is the president who has invested more in Education than any other.
He told them that he increased Education funding in the Budget from below 300B to 450 B. he also specialized tertiary funding through TETFUNDS.

He has undertaken the establishment of 12 new Federal universities to ensure that no state in the federation is deprived.
Since the strike started, FG has committee 100B for infrastructure and 30 B for earned allowances (no other administration has done this much)
In the same meeting, President said that despite the increased budgetary funding to Education by 450B, he will also mobilise 200 B in fulfillment of the agreement for the nextyears.

So what is ASUU's problem? Since you were born, have you heard of any President that offered this much to ASUU just to call off a strike?
It's so unfortunate that politics has beclouded our sense of reasoning in this country.
President GEJ has tried, let FG go ahead to reopen the schools and it will be a popular move as you can see from comments on this thread
clap for yourself, just look at what you wrote and your constant usage of the word 'will', these are just promises and I don't see anything wrong if ASUU want an agreement entered into with the president to be binding on the president by sealing it with signatures. Back to Wike, must everything be politics, Minister of Education indeed.
For those who think this is the right way to go about, I beg to differ because this approach by the FG will take us back to zero point, as it will not put an end to strikes by university lecturers.

They all worked together as a team, but personally, Nwakalli and Idowu will be my pick cos these guys protected the back four and gave ur attacking players the freedom to foray and play their game in the opposition's half.
