The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Ilorin Zonal Office has secured the conviction of Ogundele Adeseye, 24, who was re-arraigned on a one-count amended charge bordering on internet fraud.

He was convicted by Justice Babangana Ashigar of a Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State, on April 10, 2019 after he pleaded "guilty" to the charge, following a plea bargain agreement.

He was previously arraigned on a five-count charge, which was later amended to one count after plea bargain agreement was reached.

The charge reads: "That you, Ogundele Adeseye, sometimes in July 2018 or thereabouts in Ilorin within the jurisdiction of this honourable court by means of fraudulent trick that you are a white Caucasian and interested in having a relationship, obtained the cumulative sum of $500 (Five Hundred Dollars) in form of iTunes gift cards from one Chase Gliglia, an American Citizen whom you met on seeking.com website (sugarbabysite) by chatting with her using theemailbrysonwillians567@gmail.com and thereby committed an offence contrary and punishable under section 421 of the Criminal code act."

In his plea, Ogundele said: "My lord, I have learnt my lessons, I have realized that crime and criminality is not good, I am pleading with your lordship to temper justice with mercy."
In sentencing him, the trial judge held there was a need to enforce judgement that will serve as a deterrent to would-be internet fraudsters.
"In accordance with plea bargain agreement, I hereby convict the defendant and sentence him to six months imprisonment," he said.

Ogundele, however, busted into tears when he was being led to Mandala Prisons by the prison officials.

More than 20 long-tailed macaques raided a vocational college in Krabi's Klong Thom district, Thailand on Wednesday morning, apparently to search for food.

The monkeys came down from the hills behind an army base in the district and searched through garbage bins.

They also ransacked teachers' rooms and classrooms and caused damage to the school.

The primates were apparently not afraid of the teachers and threatened anyone approaching them.

Chinachipa Dungsuksai, head of accounts at the college, said the monkeys raided the building for three days running looking for food and sparking fears they would injure someone.

Suwat Suksri, head of Thung Thalae Wildlife Sanctuary, said officers tried to lure the monkeys with fruit to cages, which might take a few days.

Suwat said drought has caused food scarcity in the forests, forcing the monkeys to look elsewhere for food.

Appearing before Mutare High Court Judge, Justice Hlekaini Mwayera, 28-year-old Lameck Manyanga was slapped with 25 years in prison for killing his wife Tendai Mufaranyuri.
It is the state’s case that on 9 December 2014 at Inyati Mine, Manyanga had a dispute with his wife after he had been denied sex.
An altercation then broke out after his wife insulted him.
Manyanga was said to have left for work and upon his return, his wife denied him of his conjugal rights.
In anger, he armed himself with a hoe which he used to attack his wife.
After committing the gruesome act, Manyanga burned the hut where his wife’s lifeless body was lying. He also went on to write a suicide note and went on to hide in a cave where he took shelter for three years.
Manyanga was only discovered by another villager, Tafadzwa Mhlanga sometime in October 2017, iharare.com reports.
Manyanga was said to have threatened to attack anyone who would dare approach him, whilst wielding an iron bar.
