After spending a total of 19 days and 17hours free of THC I fell into the cold hands of relapse.

3 drags only... Straight to Colorado without visa!

It felt like an electric live wire was passed through me because I couldn't feel my feet.

I couldn't feel my face.

Personal Achievements During The 3 Weeks Fast.

1✅. My decision making ability was strengthened up to 25% increase... as I was about to cross out more than 75% of my Monthly To-Do list goals.

These are moves that could re-position me in a different light in years to come.. and I've been putting them off till now. ..


2.✅ I finally got to register for the Nursing school entrance exam. I paid for both mine and my younger bro's


✅4. We carried a new market survey and got a new product to launch.. we shot the video and edited the webpages. Yet to run ads on it though today

5. ✅ I finally grew the balls to end things off emotionally with my celibate Gen Z babe.

6✅. I'm in a mentally & physically different place now than I was 3 months ago only by staying off smoke and doing a 3 week fast.

I'm in New circles.
I am in an entirely new settings.
This is what a 21 days fast can do.


I'll need to do this more often.
Could be with sex and alcohol next time.

Night Travels along Nigerian Expressways should be considered an Xtreme sport.

So... It's 3.16am Tuesday morning and we're stuck along Benin-Sagamu expressway as information reaching us says there's an on-going operation few kilometres down the road.

Not an operation by medical doctors!
Rather an operation by men of the underworld.

We've been stuck here by the military check point off Odogbolu road for over 30 mins waiting for any incoming vehicle to confirm the situation ahead b4 we proceed.

We all alighted the luxurious bus while we waited.

It was such a cold and misty morning with very poor visibility. There was so much mist in the air you couldn't see further than 50 metres away.

The moist silver-lining of mist hovered above the thick vegetation of forests that flanked both sides of the roads.

The air was cold, clean & fresh 💚

It kinda reminded me of the crisp healthy feeling you get when you forest-bath or take a dip in a clear village stream.

I took in a couple of deep breathes and fill in my lungs with the unpolluted air around me. I could feel my lungs tingle with happiness!

... unlike the city air that makes you want to exhale immediately you took it in.

I couldn't help but wonder the diverse form of wildlifes that had their homes in the forests around us.


The men formed small circles to talk and kill time and some people took a leak... while we waited on incoming traffic for confirmation of situation at hand.

One driver of a commuter Hiace bus got tired of waiting and hit the roads.

We had over a dozen trailers, flatbeds and other luxurious buses packed alongside ours.


The men dared each other to move on but common sense held us back as the only form of arms we had on was a few machetés which was no match for a semi-automatic Kalashnikov -- the choice weapon of an average kidnapper.


It got me thinking about the security mess our country faced. It got me thinking how anyone could fall a victim.

I couldn't help but wonder how it would be if we was held up by those marauders and taken into the thick embrace of the dark forests...

I understood instantly the grave dangers road travellers face on a daily and the near-impossibility of a successful search and rescue ops in such cases.

Hmmm!

The echoes of the voices of the men around me arguing for and against the fact that it was impossible for a 10-man gang of kidnappers hold us all to ransom snapped me back to reality!


Another half an hour passed, b4 the bright beams of an LED headlamp broke into our vision and we saw a convoy of 5 cars with a siren blazing coming towards our direction.


It was a clear indication that the roads were free but we needed confirmation.

As the vehicles approached, we thought it was the Po Po or the military but nah... It was an ambulance and a few other vehicles behind it.

They gave us the green light to go on an we all boarded the bus again and hit the roads... This time the driver maintained close distance with the vehicle ahead and kept a good 60 - 80km/hr.


Hopefully, I get to my destination safe and sound. But in the meantime, it's onward together we go.

I did it... almost there.
It's a Sunday morning... and my day started off on a brilliant pace.

Woke up - 5.00am (my damned alarm clock)
Fell back to sleep as the weather was so cold as it had rained the night b4.
Finally dragged myself back to reality an hour and 30 minutes later.

I tried to recollect my dreams and the thought of my dire financial state hit me.
I remember my dreams vividly and had my 15 mins quiet time.

By 7.45am I was up and kicking!
I did a little laundry.
Threw in a few boxer shorts and some white tees in the washing machine and while it spun I worked out.

I focused on my lower back & lower hamstrings.
I always end my workouts with squats but back squats don't target the hamstrings as much as the Good Morning lifts & Romanian Deadlifts

Few sets into it and i could feel it already on my lower hamstring tendons.

It was a light workout and i rounded up as soon as my laundry was done.
I finished with a set of 10 reps of overhead military press...
Target area was my triceps, upper back, chest & shoulders.

I was done by 8.24am.
by 8.55am i was done bathing and it was time for breakfast.

I had 1 citrus - tangerine.
1 cup of boiled white rice plus a mix of leftover stews (banga + tomoto stew) and some fish.

Tidied up the kitchen and journaled on NL for like 30 mins.

I had Black Coffee (that guy is a legend) playing in the background as i opened my Elitebook HP laptop to study for like 3 hours for my upcoming Nursing entrance school exams.

The thought of smoking some good shiit crossed my mind... but not in the usual tempting way.
This time it was more of a reminiscing thought...
Like, you imagine how good if would feel to take a hit and how chill it would feel to indulge in this serene ambient Sunday morning weather!

As i sat down, on my bed i couldn't help but imagine what the future holds for me...

3. Trekking instead of driving to short distances

4. No DSTV at all. Android Tv Stick ti take over

5. Moved out of a 850k per annum single room flat to a 1m per annum 4 bedroom apartment with a flatmate.

6. No more 30 - 40GB MTN monthly sub. Moved to Starlink but shared amongst 6 other flats.

7. No more 1.1.1 eating ration now I try to skip meals even though food dey but I think about tomorrow especially biz is stagnant for me.

8. No more multiple dating. I no dey even approach any babe again. We talk we say goodbyes that's it.

9. No more weed. Can't be getting hungry anyhow in this TPain economy.

10. Turn off the fridge/freezer during the day after letting it run all 9t.

11. No throw-awaying of leftover foods. We have a fridge for a reason.

12. WhatsApp calls now over voice calls. Except on some cases.

13. 1 bottle of beer now as against binge drinking.

14. No more Mr-Nice-Guy to all casual female friends. No data no airtime nothing lol

15. Joint business venture especially with FB advertising. I now focus on polling funds together and organic sales.

Currently considering night bus travels over daytime travels.

I fit even sell this car sef.. I just dey take style dey study one market. if I get a hang of it and need funds, the car will go.

Today makes it 2 weeks of my abstinence from smoking.

No loud, no Cana, no kpo.

I can't believe I've come this far.
I tell my stoner friends and they all seem to be supportive.

The struggle with withdrawals are over and now I'm on a flow. My night dreams are no longer nightmarish. And I love how clear my head is atm without the influence of THC.

.A 3-week no-smoke streak will be my personal best record.

And according to research, Cannabis smokers inhale more toxic chemicals than tobacco smokers.

Plus there isn't enough research on the long-term effects of smoking weed to the lungs yet so the aftermaths may be unknown.

It's liken to how tobacco and cigarettes were advertised as a cool & harmless habit tilll the bronchitis, lung cancers, and other respiratory problems became 2nd nature to tobacco addicts.


It's also likened to how the effects of microplastics are understudied for decades till now when documented researches have proven that condoms aren't so safe... And that microplastics are also present in people's bloodstream and even in the urethra of the penis.


I plan on going on with my break for at least 1 month b4 reconsidering my next move
