A player can only contribute within the minutes he plays on the pitch. Joao Felix for Atletico Madrid in 3.5 season played 5240minutes contributing to 39goals and assists in approximately 58matches. Nothing concerns anyone with the mins he was not on the pitch. For Portugal it's 7 goals and assists in approximately 15matches worth of game time. Like I said before incoherent ramblings manifesting 93 and 30matches of game time from thin air.

Joao Felix was only a starter for Atletico Madrid in their first 7 league matches before he fell out with Simeone and was relegated to the bench permanently.

During those 7 matches they won 4, draw 1 and lost 2 to real Madrid and Villarreal. They scored 15 goals and conceded 6. Atletico Madrid drop of form came when Felix was already on the bench and was used sporadically by Simeone. The high scoring Atletico Madrid someone wants to deceive you with went from January 8th when they lost to Barcelona to April 2nd playing 14matches scoring only 1 goal in 10 of them. They even went 6 matches In a row scoring only one goal per match, maybe Joao Felix was the one hindering and blunting their attack all the way from London during those games. Better than those ones but still in the same boat. Add Pochettino as well. Managers that are good at getting average/good clubs to over perform but can't do the same at the big clubs. We have seen Emery fail at the only two top clubs he has managed Psg and Arsenal. He is someone who can't control big names. His level is at semi descent clubs like Sevilla, Valencia etc.

Pochettino is the definition of a renowned bottler. Bottled league titles at both Tottenham and Psg. If Pochettino come here he will flop. Sometimes I don't understand managers and their lack of self awareness for what they are good at, what is suited to them. Pochettino is a project manager to get a mid team punching above their weight, with a ceiling of never actually reaching the top or winning anything. His level is West ham, Brighton and Aston Villa just like Potter.

There was a report released some weeks ago about running stats for all PL teams. It pointed out that we were either the team with the least collective distance covered or one of the worst, at best.

It pointed to a relaxed team training regime over several months (perhaps also from pre-season preparation), with severe lack of running during training, resulting in sub-optimal fitness for what should be an elite team. I read it at the time and ignored.

If this is resurfacing, then it means that the story was indeed true. It also means that if the story is true, then Lampard is correct and truly, he cannot fix it.

Lampard is looking for excuses to cover up his ineptness. Distance covered doesn't mean anything or correlate to performance or league position. The best teams usually cover the less distance.
