I know people will say its a bias take, but truth must be said. Dean Henderson was very outstanding yesterday, making crucial saves and very calming presence in the box and cut out certain dangers by perfectly sweeping the dangers off with excellent timing. Most importantly he is very vocal. I saw him towards the end barking orders at Maguire and Lindelof to move up the pitch.

We have been asking for a fast defender because pacy opponents make us vulnerable, Henderson cut out 3 certain attempts on goal yesterday that i remember off my head by reacting very quick, and when you realise its Kane/Son charging at those ball, you know the outcome. Goal keeping is not just making reflex saves from attempts you should have cut out since, modern goalkeeping require you will be good on the ball, be a proper sweeper, command your box with authority and organise your defence well , as well as making reflex saves as the cases may be. TBH, Henderson ticks these boxes better than all our current GKs.

Without these qualities we will be restricted to just counter attack because our backfive will be hesitant to be adventurous

You forgot to mention that their next 4 fixtures are west brom, Southampton, Palace and Newcastle, with 3 of the fixtures being at home. They just need to get something from the chelsea, United and Spurs game and they are good.

It is not funny. You are 100% correct. His hold up play and link up play has improved this season. He has actually not done too badly if you consider his age, the issues he had at the start of the season and the fact that he is being played out of position .

For the rest of the season i would start Greenwood at no 9 and have Cavani come off the bench. James/Amad can rotate the right wing.

The club should use the rest of the season to find out whether CF is our priority in attack next season or whether it is RW (based on the relative performances of Greenwood and Amad)

Exactly, Cavani can start coming in as an impact sub for Greenwood. Especially now that Martial is out of the season. Ole can rotate Amad and James, while we see if we can reactivate the chase for Sancho im the summer, expecially now that Dortmund might likely not play UCL next season, price will be good and less pressure to perform immediately too. We have a bit of a leaverage to test our priorities like you said, minimum damage. We are 11 points off top 4.
I trust Greenwood, and those his presumed personal behaviours seem to have been nipped in the bud by Ole and co and he seems to have understood the importance of him being a respectable professional.

Ole is managing him well yes. Most things I said about Ole is based on my convinction not based on agenda. If Ole does well i will give credit to him. For example I dont have any issues with Ole so far he cam win us the Europa this season and finish 2nd, while showing progress in his style of play.

Its might look funny, but i think i prefer this version of Greenwood to that of last season. He is now more rounded in his game, i think Oke took off some scoring responsibilities from him in order to develop other aspect of his game and its paying off. Greenwood has improved considerably

We are 9 points ahead of 5th place now. Its safe to say we are going to enjoy UCL football next season. Nice one

But according to the manager, Henderson is outperforming him. Even last season that Henderson was at Sheffield United he outperformed DDG, hence the competition for the number 1 spot. Nobody is giving Henderson the number 1 spot on a platter. Moreover it is not even clear he is number 1 yet. So DDG so relax and compete for his place just like he is doing in Spanish NT.

You can't keep 2 good GKs capable of playing as No 1 at a club, one has to leave.

The first thing they would consider is age, the youngest will likely stay:

Cortious and Cech
Szczęsny and Buffon (left for PSG)
Lopez and Casillas
Ter Stergen and Bravo etc

United fans are too emotional. Thats why most of them keep making excuses for Ole because of a tap in goal he scored in 1999.

How many errors have Henderson commited this season as against that of DDG? I can name several DDG errors off my head, check the EPL GK stats he is up there among keepers who commited most errors leading to goal, For the past 3 season DDG has cost us dearly, Why are you turning blind eyes to that too?

Its natural to intestify a call for a player to be replaced when a seemingly better one comes on board. Ddg did not do half of what Rooney did at united but at some point even the so called English media were hounding him for earning huge pay without justifying it on the pitch. Its obvious that DDG is no longer elite level GK, his wages is too high for his present quality, so why wont he be criticized. What wrong has Henderson commited for trying to compete for a place

We have the option of keeping one and selling the other, the right choice is to sell DDG, so I don't understand the noise.

The argument is that DDG has done a lot for us. So we can keep him till eternity as against an up and coming players.
How many years was DDG when Fergie handed him our number 1 spot. Infact DDG's errors was instrumental to the 2011/12 league title that we lost to City on GD. But we saw it then as a learning process, i remember argueing with some united fans in my street then. We all pleaded for him to be given a chance. So why is it a problem now that it's another person's turn to shine.

And i don't really get your point. Do you mean that because you believe that the press would have wrongfully criticized DDG for the goal we should now wrongfully criticize Henderson for the goal? Abi is that not what you are demanding?

People like us has been saying DDG needs competition even before Henderson performed admirably last season in Sheffield United. Its not Henderson's fault he is English, so because he is English he shouldn't be made number 1? So why is DDG being bench by Zpanish NT coaches or are Kepa and Unai Simon English too?

Expert17 you would've expected De Gea to come out for the ball before it got to Welbeck. I understand it's AWB who was caught napping but if it was DDG, you wouldn't cut him any slack.

Nobody criticises DDG for conceding a header. DDG is being criticised for the following reasons.

1. Getting bullied of the ball by opposition players in the air during set peices.
2. Letting himself be beaten at the near post too easily.
3. Commiting absolute howlers, by letting in routine shots to squim through his arm.

And for the past 3 season this has happened on a regular basis and this has cost us valuable points and trophies.

DDG is also know not to communicate properly with defender and is not a good sweeper when needed.

You guys should stop hating on Henderson, he too wants a decent career, DDG should fight for his place not try to emotionally blackmail the manager and the fans who are realistic
