I don’t even know where to start with this one. Your entire write up is built on a false premise and I would attack each point one by one to prove it’s actually you that started watching football recently.

In 09/10 & 11/12, Rooney was a striker. He was never a CM or AM, his average position that season had him as the out and out striker. If he played as AM or CM, his PL’s number of assists won’t be 4, it would be closer to 20 that season. The day Bruno has only 4 assists in one season is the day he would retire.

A further look at his stats that season also showed Rooney had only 1.5 key passes per game(5th in the squad) and 4.6 shots per game(1st in the squad). That does not suggest he was used as CM or AM. He was the main striker and even at his very best, he could not deliver 35 goals per season. A 20 year old Haaland just did.

That same Bundesliga also produced Kevin De Bruyne that has strangled the Premier league for the past 5 years. KDB is now in the 10th position of the all time PL assists. The way you people rubbish other leagues only for their players to come to PL and make you consume your vomit always amuses me. Aubameyang made a mincemeat of the PL winning golden boots back to back but you tried to be clever by half by mentioning Werner and Havertz.

Bruno is from Portuguese league(a league considered 5 tiers lower than PL) and yet he’s putting everyone in the dust. If Haaland comes to the PL, all your favorites will have to retire because that boy is putting all of them in the grave. The only 20 year old you can compare to Haaland right now was a 20 year old Brazilian Ronaldo. Not even Messi was this potent at age 20.

Haaland is better than all your favorites. Argue with logic, not with emotions or some emotional attachment to one ex-player that many considered never lived up to expectation. Rooney was supposed to conquer the world, he never did.




Haaland at 18 would have done the same in that team that contained Terry, Scholes, Owen, Ashley Cole, Hargreaves, etc. The whole leading England to EURO 2004 glory is also overrated. Whether Haaland’s career will be as successful as the aforementioned players is anyone’s guess but as of today while he’s still 20 years of age, he’s better than all of your favorites cloned together when they were 20.

Yes i adore Haaland. But dont you ever disrespect Rooney, it seems you started watching football recently. Rooney was never a wait-and-tap-in striker like Haaland or even Lewandowski. Rooney played behind Duncan Ferguson at Everton and played behind Van Nistelrooy, Saha, Larsson, Solskjaer, Berbatov, Tevez and Van Persie at United and played behind Owen, Heskey etc in England, He is more of a Bruno-esque type of player. The only seasons he played as a striker he scored 34 goals in each of them despite having injury issues those seasons and not being a seasoned striker all his life. In fact in 2011/12 Fergie played him several times at CM not AM ooo. He still score 34 goals that season, while you are here creaming over Haaland who scored 40 goals playing in a Bundesliga where timo Werner and Havertz were scoring 30+ goals.

Who is Haaland compared to 19/20 year old Rooney?
Rooney was leading England to Euro 2004 glory as an 18 year old before his injury against Portugal.
