I decided to leave out Rangers for some reasons, because i can even go as far as Norway and sweden to typical Examples. What "Ole in" groups whatever that means what is for us to keep improving while other teams watch, and for our squad to be clearly better than others before we xan challenge.

Leverkusen, Leipzig and Dortmund are challenging Bayern for this seasons Bundesliga .

Acmilan from No where are challenging For Seria A, even Roma, Inter and Atalanta are also challenging.

Lyon, Lille and Marsaille are challenging for Ligue 1 against almighty PSG.

Athletico are challenging Barca and Madrid for La liga.

Even Bruno’s former team Sporting CP are challenging for Portuguese premira liga.

But we should stop talking about challenging for Title against injury ravaged Liverpool and out of sort City, so that Ole will not look bad if he fails to challenge. The way some people think de really tire me. In 2018 Liverpool finshed 24 points behind City, the next season they lost the league to the same City by just 1 point on the final day. So why cant we challenge Liverpool for the title this season? So we should lower expectations and continue in mediocrity because we dont really want to task Ole?

The thing is this team should be able to mount a solid title challenge at least with what we've seen of them. Winning it while not impossible, we should consider all parameters especially when we have a long way to go. One step at a time.

Dont ever compare Ziyech/Pulisic to Bruno/ Rashford the later has scored a combined 25 goals and 13 assists already this season.
James has scored same number of goals with Havertz, playing far less number of games.

what I'm saying in other words is that apart from some players like Bruno and maybe Maguire by virtue of captaincy, a large percentage of the squad can easily sit into the first or second team depending on the opponent.

You are correct. Even Liverpool and City fans are scared that we might push for the title but our fans are saying we cant. SMH. Diallo and probably Caciedo might start from U23 just like Facundo. But they might spring up and surprise everyone later in the season.

Our recruitment policy is the best way to go. Get a good number of the highly talented players, half of them will suceed and then Every season we add obe or 2 quality. Trying to buy a whole squad of world class players in 1 transfer window will only put the manager under pressure and will destroy the wage structure and morale of the team. Currently we have a glut of talented young players.
Apart from Greenwood there are Fernandez, Garnacho, Elanga,Mengi, Liard, Shotire, Facundo, Diallo, McNiell, Mejbri, Jurado, etc thats encouraging

we had nine changes from the last league game and the team was decent, and still didn't involve Juan Mata or Dan James or Jesse Lingard. I see no reason why any competition should be of lower priority. Ole needs a trophy, United need a trophy like right now.

I not saying we shoukd ditch any competition, but we need to use our best players in the league more. Our 2nd Eleven, which is decent can take us to the Semis at least of these competitions.

Even Jones and Rojo can be reintegrated into the squad to see out easy games to give key players rest. SAF does this a lot.

Most times we don't assign Maguire to mark opposition players who are dangerous from set pieces I don't know why? Maybe it's a strategy.

Who is even our defenssive coach? The person must be terrible. The amount of goals we concede from setpeices is mind blowing and still we dont want to address that.

I think our squad on a whole is good but I still think it lacks balance and that's where it can fall short as a title challenger.

They say defense wins titles but can you honestly say you're confident in our defence keeping cleansheets?
We still dont have a proper solution for the right side of the team.
And then of course you have Ole who is like his team, inconsistent. Has some great results with some woeful ones.

The main reason I see us in a title challenge is because no one else is that good, apart from Liverpool.

We conceded lots of goals last season in the first half of the season and conceded less in the 2nd half. If we can tighten our defence we should be good

Now i am not saying we are going to win or indeed that we must win. However we should be able to push on and at least give the eventual winners a fight for their money.

And for Ole. I have been very critical of him and i still think he is not good enough. But a slight stroke of luck in terms of getting the right balance with the squad could just push him over the line. Just like post lockdown.

For the past 5 seasons or so title winners used basically same structure and first XI throughout the season. With little tweaking here and there as injuries and suspensions permits.

Chelsea 2015: courtois, Ivanovic, Azpi, Terry, Cahill, Matic, Fab, Oscar, Hazard, Costa, Willian/Schurle.

Leicester 2016: Schmeichel, Simpson, Huth,Morgan,Fuchs,Kante, Drinkwater,Albrighton,Okazaki,Mahrez,vardy.

Chelsea 2017: Courtois,Azpi,luiz,moses,cahill,alonso,matic, kante,Hazard, willian/Pedro, Costa.

City 2018-2019: Ederson, walker,Laporte/Otamendi,Kompany, Delph/Zinchenko/Danilo,Fernandinho,KDB,Silva, Sane, Sterling, Aguero.

Liverpool 2020: Allison,TAA,Robertson,VVD,Gomez,Henderson, Fabinho,Wijnaldum,Firminho,Salah,Mane.

I dont know if our coaching team have strategists at all, Fergie used to have people like that.

Very good. I am surprised that people are saying we can't challenge for the title. That Mourinho's team of 17/18 would have edged it had it not been for the 100 points city, so why not this team?
We made 9 changes last night and beat Everton first team away. If you compare our squad now with that of City, we are not miles off. Even Liverpool that a lot of people are tipping for the tilte are not miles ahead of us quality wise.

A very nice run of results of say 10 wins in 12, starting from our fixture with Liverpool on 16th of Jan, then maintaining a reasonable form afterwards will do it. And just like you said, if we can give the winners a run for thier money that will boost the team to mount a proper title bid next season. That doesnt even mean we can't win it this season.

Fergie won a couple of titles with 75-79 points. Leicester won it with 81 points, infact we even won it in 2003 with 83 points with 2 games to spare. This season is looking very similar to those types of season. Liverpool for example have lost 11 points already this season with barely 1/3 of yhe season gone.
