Yeah, i saw Evans making some long passes but remember that it was a short video.

What most of the analysts that i watched said is that the RCB and LCB are the ones that make the long passes in the first phase of buildup play, while the CCB moves to form a double pivot with the more defensive CM and the other CM moves up to join the AMs.

de Ligt is not a natural fit as CCB in possession in either scenario, but he is probably the best fit as CCB out of possession. Iti is the job of the coach to improve the players he has available, so he has to get to work now. The problematic areas can be addressed in January and in the summer.

May be when Martinez returns they will use him to progress the ball from LCB. I also notice that in Sporting he plays Diomande and Debast in accros the defence depending on availability but never changes role for Inacio.

From the training video that I saw, Evans the CCB was tasked with finding attackers with long passes, especially the LWB. Can De Ligt do that? I doubt it oo, if there is one thing Delight can’t do well, its pass out from defence. Martinez and Maguire are the best in doing that.
Yoro has always been tailor made for the RCB, and thats where I see De ligt thriving.
