None of the Malaysian players in question were born in Malaysia, lived in Malaysia for the minimum 5 years required by FIFA, or had a parent/grandparents that were born in Malaysia.

Are you aware that one can acquire legal citizenship of a country through marriage yet FIFA doesn't give a crap about it anymore.

Currently there are 2 Nigerians representing Armenia because they got their citizenship after meeting the 5 year residency requirement

This case isn't the same as DR Congo's though. Malaysia registered players fraudulently who had no ties to Malaysia but fasley claimed ancestry to the place. What Malaysia should have done instead was to give citizenship to said players via naturalization (assuming of course they'll follow the laid down rules for naturalization).

DR Congo's case is a different conversation all together. The heritage of the players concerned aren't in question. It's really about trying to take advantage of a technicality to our advantage.

FIFA has penalised Malaysia with three 3-0 defeats for fielding ineligible players, the country’s football authorities said Wednesday, the latest punishment in a simmering scandal.

Friendly wins over Palestine and Singapore, and a draw against Cape Verde, all at home this year, have been overturned, the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) said.
FIFA has already suspended seven foreign-born national team players over forged documents that claimed they had Malaysian ancestry.
The FAM, previously fined $440,000, has now been hit with a further $12,500 punishment.
A FIFA disciplinary committee meeting on Friday ruled that “Malaysia is declared to have lost 3-0 in all three matches”, the FAM said.
FIFA launched an investigation after receiving a complaint following Malaysia’s 4-0 win against Vietnam in June in an Asian Cup qualifier.

Two of the seven players scored.
Its investigation showed none of Hector Hevel, Jon Irazabal, Gabriel Palmero, Facundo Garces, Rodrigo Holgado, Imanol Machuca, or Joao Brandao Figueiredo had a parent or grandparent born in Malaysia, a requirement for selection to a national team.

Pls tell us one good reason (devoid of your ethnic gaslighting and angling) why Usman deserved to be selected ahead of a Sani Suleiman who is younger, more exciting and has a far promising trajectory? The Tochukwu Nnadi you keep bringing up isn't my favorite player and I doubt anybody would have cared or noticed much if he was dropped or not, but at least he's very young - still 22 and playing at a far better league with more learning curves for growth as a player, so your comparison is rather baseless even if it was for ethnic ramblings.

You just wrote a litany of rubbish laced with lots of gaslighting. Nobody is pitching on Usman Muhammed cause he's a Northerner, we are only asking and demanding as sane minded fans the baffling criteria through which he was selected into the final squad. The team he currently plays for in the Israeli league is even at the cusp of battling relegation, and the said player hardly plays! Secondly aren't there Northerners in better form who should have at least been selected? Sani Suleiman for example is doing well and is tipped to be one for the future, he's a Northerner and I can bet there's no Nigerian that will raise a brow or lose sleep if he were selected. Zaidu is a Northerner and he will likely always get a popularity vote of confidence over Bruno Onyemaechi to start all our games, because he's more reliable and sturdy.

Lastly I don't think any player has received more backlash and insults recently from Nigerian fans than Alex Iwobi, even Ndidi sef dey collect, last time I checked all these guys are Igbos. Tolu Arokodare that has been receiving it hot is Yoruba etc...all we want is a merit-based standard of doing things untainted by corruption and shadiness, that's why nothing works in Nigeria in almost all sectors.

Rafiu is a pure number 9 while Fago can play across the forward line. Fago has been playing on the left yet has 5 goals in 6 games! No one is better than the other but Fago holds the advantage cos he can play across the frontline. Ikebpa was our star going to AFCON 2000, Ike Uche in 2013 but it was Aghawonder and Ideyye respectively from no where that stole the show.
