Rocktation: @bukatyne I thought I was the only one that felt the romance scenes in cloy was not enough. Nice analysis from you and bukatyne It's why I prefer the 16+ k series on Netflix. I love the romance in secretary Kim. I'll appreciate recommendations for series with mature romance scenes |

Amylew: . For tutors I dunno oh. Just ensure the rutor has written TEF and passed. Or find someone you trust who they have taught and who passed. This part is very key for anyone on this journey. The number of so called TEF standard french teachers is increasing as well as candidates being robbed of their money with nothing to show for it regarding their results. Like someone earlier said, a lot of this french teachers wont pass TEF if they were to sit for the exam. i know two persons who spent over 200k on lessons, yet the result couldn't even add a point to the candidate's crs If you know you dont have so much cash to splurge, do a detail background check on your proposed tutor and ensure your are making the right choice for your time and money. A WORD IS ENOUGH FOR THE WISE |

ThatEdoFemme: most french teachers who teach us french in Nigeria to pass TEF eh, if they write the exams themselves eh, they wont pass. Thus table you are shaking , let it not break oohhh! |

ednut1: they do if you are able to get a job offer with LMIA as applicable. Sorry to burst your bubble the agent has scammed you. Arrest him if you can. Actually, for work permit you don't need LMIA. If one has a job offer, the fellow can get work permit. LMIA comes into play when the fellow with work permit wants to apply for PR. Work permit is like work visa. |

Thetherapist: Good day. I decided to read through this thread in order to boost my CRS point. I have bookmarked all needed pages. My question is this. 1. Is there anybody here that has attempted TEF and passed from A0 level. I must say i am practically A0. Little i know is primary school french. If there is anybody here, please quote me. I need to know how you made it.
2. I might not be able to enrol with AF due to my work schedule. Do you know any flexible class in ibadan i can learn mainly for TEF preparation
3. Is there anybody in Ibadan planning to write TEF? Please quote me and let us rub minds
4. @entrange and other french seniors in the house. Please i need tips to ace TEF for A0 candidate. Thank you all. Nothing is impossible if you are willing to do what it takes. Search for Alliance français in your city, go there and make your enquiries. Yes, I started learning French from scratch, though I haven't written TEF yet |

etrange: Hi everyone!
Glad to see the positive spirit here.
I just want to encourage everyone to hang in there regardless of how tough it seems to be. Studying French has multiple advantages asides from the immediate obvious one of increasing your CRS. Take this from someone who's been keenly following the Canadian labour market trends. As a software developer, I realised there are many people with my skill set here; multilingualism instantly became my selling point. To better appreciate my point, take your time to review most of the job boards in Canada. You'll see that roles that require multilingualism pay up to 20% more than their monolingual counterparts. Most of these roles are in Quebec though but that shouldn't be a problem if you take steps to manage the expectations of the prospective employers.
How do you manage their expectations? Do your French language evaluation with YMCA on arrival. It's just like any other French exam evaluating your strength in the four areas of language studies and it's free. Each area is graded on a scale of 1 to 8. With this result, you'd be referred to government sponsored institutions where you could continue your classes for free. But asides this, you should always mention this result to a prospective employer when interviewing for bilingual roles. This helps them place your level accordingly without over expecting thus reducing the pressure on you.
Regardless of the province you choose to land in, do not close your eyes to these bilingual jobs. If you could move from Africa to North America, you can always move from Ontario/Alberta to Quebec.
Wish you all the very best! Thanks for this tip. Just a quick question, how is the exam conducted. Is it conducted like DELF, TEF or TCF. Thanks very much again. |
