With the engine cold, Simply loosen the thermostat housing and see if the thermostat is there.

Alternatively, with the engine cold, remove the top radiator hose from the thermostat housing and carefully poke through with a long screw driver or engine oil dip stick to see if it goes through. If you feel an obstruction where the thermostat sits then its most likely that its still there.

1998 Nissan Primera. If you didn't buy this car as a direct "Tokunmbo", its most likely that the thermostat has been removed by the previous owner.

I think the 3Ltr V6 Supercharged engine is a bit too small for the size and weight of this vehicle. A 6Ltr V8 supercharged unit would have been more appropriate.

Very simple. Adjust the Idle Air Control valve. This has to be done manually with a short, medium sized flat screwdriver. You will find the IAC valve on the side of the Throttle Body aka Injector mouth with a straight grove for the adjustment. Screw it in or out til the idle speed stabilises. You do not need a scanner for this operation.

From the external door glasses chrome detailing, it means its either a GL or SR model, unless you fitted them in.

The GL's didn't come with that type of dashboard. The brown dashboard shown is circa 1982 onwards.

If your thermostat is still in place, then the only other possible reason my be that when you had the overheating issue, your mechanic/ electrician wired your radiator and aircon fans to work continuously bypassing the thermo switch. Its a common practice here in naija.

If that's the case, then you have your car engine cooling immediately on start up thereby slowing down engine warm up time.
