The 2020 Lincoln Aviator made it to the top 12 of the Autotrader best 2020 cars, The midsize Aviator came on the scene to a lot of fanfare following the launch of the outstanding new Navigator in 2018 and the Aviator is a very good luxury SUV and lives up to the expectations that were set by its big brother. In fact, many of our editors like the Aviator better because of it’s the interior layout and more urban-friendly size.

2020 Subaru Outback

The all new 2020 Subaru Outback is a very good family car. Subaru intentionally didn’t mess with the look too much because Subaru people like the Subaru look. However, when you step inside, the redesign becomes much more apparent. Naturally, AWD is standard on every trim which, combined with generous ground clearance and Subaru’s X-Mode, gives the Outback some serious off-road chops while still being a pleasure to drive on the road.

2020 Toyota Highlander

The third midsize 3-row crossover from a volume brand on our list this year is the all-new 2020 Toyota Highlander. The Highlander is a good SUV and has been a leader in this segment since it was first introduced almost 20 years ago and its dominance continues with the freshly redesigned fourth generation.

Toyota introduced an all-new Highlander as three-row crossovers remain sales kings. The all-new model, which rides on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA)) family, presents an evolutionary design that’s familiar, borrowing from the RAV4 and Avalon. There are two powertrains – gas or gas-electric hybrid. The 3.5-liter V6 carries over unchanged. The hybrid uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder instead of the previous gen’s 3.5-liter V6. The hybrid’s Horsepower is down, but it makes up for it with improved fuel economy.

The global pandemic has had some major effects on the global auto industry but Porsche seems to be pushing along just fine. The iconic brand has released a $1.4billion profit, $14.64 billion sales revenue, and $1.45 billion return on sales for the first half of 2020. Those numbers are down compared to last year though yet still impressive.

Having established its status in the sports-car hall of fame with the legendary 911, Porsche also makes some of the best SUVs to be had. The Macan is a realistic choice as a daily driver, offering the performance of a sports car with the utility of an SUV.


Porsche is thanking their impressive new products like the new 911 range, the new Taycan, and Cayenne Coupe. Porsche’s sales may have dropped 12.4% at 116,964 units compared to last year but still aren’t horrible. The new Turbo S, a popular option, has a wider track width allowing for more stability and more intake room for cooling ducts. New adaptive cooling flaps up front improve aero. There are also staggered wheels with 20’s upfront and 21’s outback. It gets PDCC, rear steering, ceramic brakes with 10 piston calipers up front, and PASM along with an active sport exhaust. The interior is just a nicer version of the new 992 interiors with leather, carbon trim, and 18-way seats. The Turbo S coupe will start at $203,500 in the US.

Mercedes-Benz X-Class Pickup Preview, Price & Release Date

The new Mercedes-Benz X-Class Pickup you see might just be the most intriguing looking example we’ve ever seen. It comes from Pickup Design, the track-focused division of Carlex Design, and has received a multitude of exterior and interior modifications. The first thing you notice is the two-tone paint scheme. The X-Class’s body has been painted in gloss white, apart from the upper portion of the body which sports a shade of brown. A host of other brown accents are visible across the exterior, including a strip along with the doors that denote the vehicle as to the ‘Yachting Edition.’

Inside, this X-Class looks unlike any other. For starters, the tuner has applied wooden accents on the dashboard and steering wheel. Next, elements such as the seat bolsters, shift knob, handbrake, center console, and parts of the door panels have been clad in brown leather. Other surfaces, like the upper door trims, upper dashboard, and the steering wheel grips are clad in brown Alcantara.

Rounding out the interior changes are custom seats with black Alcantara center sections and wooden floor mats both upfront and in the second row. These modifications might not be the most practical for a tradesman that could use the X-Class for work, but it is definitely one way to attract attention at the worksite.

This is something new – a global attempt to go after the likes of the Toyota Hilux, VW Amarok, and Nissan Navara. Now, developing a new car from scratch is a vastly expensive business, so if there’s a way to reduce those costs, it’s worth considering. So if you scratch the surface of the X-Class you’ll find a lot of it is actually the aforementioned Nissan Navara. Same 2.3-litre Renault-developed turbo diesel, same ladder frame chassis, same switchable 4wd system with low range, and so on.

On the surface, Mercedes has done a good job of disguising this fact. Until you get to the far end of the double cab, the X-Class looks unique, well-aligned with the rest of Merc’s commercial and passenger car range. It’s only the shape of the rear lights and that kick-up in the rear passenger window line that looks Nissan-ish.

We’ve taken a ride in the X-Class – here’s what we thought – Autocar UK

n 12 minutes, we enthusiastically attacked a race track, performed standing starts on super-steep hills, effortlessly descended them, traversed a set of moguls that got wheels dangling, clambered over boulders and through a water splash, before riding a bank of earth that tilted this Mercedes 42deg from the horizontal. At that angle, an occupant sitting on the low side of the car is almost close enough to the ground to drop a window and pick flowers. At the 50deg tilt that is this pickup’s tip limit, it would certainly be possible. So that’s impressive.

So is the X-Class’s aura of robustness and the basic pliancy of its suspension over rough stuff, making it supple enough to cushion sharp jolts effectively. Suspension articulation seems promising, too, with the succession of earth hillocks that compress the front-left, rear-right, front-right and rear-left springs alternately being taller obstacles than most drivers would tackle. The steep hill from a standing start is no trouble in this X250d automatic, with the task further eased by a hill-holder.

The return to level earth is hill descent controlled, with the drop notable for the lack of clack from the anti-lock braking system actuators. Refinement has been an important aspect of the X-Trail’s development, so Mercedes clearly needed to set higher standards than both the Nissan Navara and Renault Alaskan, which share much of its innards, as well as rivals such as the VW Amarok.

It’s definitely less car-like on a track, unsurprisingly, with body roll and rear-ends tyre squeal accompanying a trip towards the grip limits. But we’re probably traveling faster than you would in most pickups and, on this smooth track, it feels controlled. Whether the manners of this Mercedes crew cab improve sufficiently on Navarra’s to warrant a sizeable price difference, we’ll need some testing first before we can come to an answer. But the promise is there.

Ford Motor CEO and President Jim Hackett recently announced his plans to “retire from the company” on October 1 as the carmaker’s massive restructuring plan has so far not impressed investors.

Jim Hackett will be replaced by the current Chief Operating Officer of the company Jim Farley, on October 1. The two executives will work together for a smooth transition period over the next two months.

“My goal when I took on the CEO role was to prepare Ford to win in the future,” Hackett said. “The hardest thing for a proud, long-lived company to do is change to meet the challenges of the world it’s entering rather than the world it has known. I’m very proud of how far we have come in creating a modern Ford and I am very optimistic about the future.”

Ford’s surprising announcement means that Jim Farley will become the company’s third CEO in six years in yet another government shakeup.

Jim Hackett took over Ford in May 2017 after his predecessor Mark Fields was ousted. He’s responsible for the carmaker’s controversial restructuring plan, which includes Ford cutting almost every car nameplate from the range in favor of SUVs and trucks. Ford’s shares have lost nearly 40 percent of its value since Hackett became the company’s CEO.

However, Hackett said that “the fruits of our labor” are going to be seen once models like the new Ford Bronco and Mustang Mach-E launch in the market.

Jim Farley has been at Ford since 2007, holding various positions such as head of Lincoln, global head of sales and marketing, and Chief Operating Officer. Farley, along with Hackett, is credited with forcing a redesign of the electric SUV that eventually became the Mustang Mach-E and the decision to make it a Mustang model, Reuters reports.

AMG is about to launch its 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT 73 line to fill the shoes of the now dead AMG 65 V12 line. New images by Carscoops show off the prototypes testing in various different models with different wheels.

So what’s the big deal with the AMG 73? Well, that would be the powertrain. First off, it will be a hybrid with some throwing the GT73e name around. It will pack a 4.0L TT V8 paired to an EQ boost system to produce around 750-805HP of course going to all four wheels. In the AMG GT 4 door, we would see 0-60 under 3sec.

Now, these AMG 73 models won’t necessarily look different outside, albeit MAYBE some very minor changes, but that power will surely be top-notch. This new model will allow it to compete with the Panamera Turbo S-E Hybrid which is getting a power bump for 2021 up to 700HP. This powertrain isn’t set to be exclusive the AMG GT 4 door as it is said to make its way across a few top tier models like the S Class, the new SL, and maybe a few SUV’s. The last time the 73 badges were used was on the SL73 of which 85 were made and packed an N/A 7.3L V12. No, this won’t have a V12 and Mercedes-AMG will likely unveil the GT 73 Plug-In Hybrid before the end of the year.

There’s a lot more going on here than just raw horsepower numbers. Nevertheless, we have to start at the power train, because what the AMG GT Black Series packs is truly insane. The stoutest “regular” Mercedes GTs, the GT R, and GT R Pro extract 577 hp from AMG’s twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8. The new 2021 GT Black Series blows that out of the water with its 720 horses. That’s a 143-hp jump! Torque, meanwhile, standard at 590 lb-ft and is available from as low as 2,000 RPM.

AMG is shaking up the lineup of their AMG GT range for this upcoming model year with more power, more standard stuff and the death of the GT S. The GT lineup has always made no sense with it’s naming and AMG obviously was confused too as they have been changing and manipulating it ever since it came out years ago.

Every AMG GT other than the Black Series is powered by the same 4.0L TT V8 with varying levels of power. Now in the base AMG GT, you get 523HP as the GT S model has been killed off.

Now the lineup goes AMG GT, AMG GT C, AMG GT R, AMG GT R Pro, and AMG GT Black Series with the last two being limited edition affairs. There also is the AMG GT, GT C, and AMG GT R roadsters. Now, every model gets AMG ride control, an electric rear diff, and a special braking setup standard. There also is a rear steering option with the Dynamic Plus pack and a new Night Trim which blacks out the exterior and can be had with carbon fiber bits.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner, who has scored 31 goals for Juventus in the league, splashed N4.6 billion on the luxury car, according to Corriere Della Sera.

The publication also said Ronaldo decided to splash the hefty amount on the expensive car to celebrate his club’s league title.

The supercar, one of only ten in the world, will be delivered to him by the end of the year with the vehicle described as officially purchased. This new model is believed to be a tribute to the legendary Bugatti EB110 – Centodieci is Italian for 110.

The Centodieci boasts an 8 litre W16 engine, with special models having 1600hp – some 100hp more than the Chiron and, overall, three times the price of that model. It can do 0-62mph in just 2.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 236mph.

The all new 2021 Tucson is going to shake up its segment with radical styling. The new Tucson has been spied endlessly and new shots confirm the grill mounted LED lights, shark teeth styled rear LED lights, and way more. Outside is a sharp and angular design like on the new Elantra and almost looking like a Cybertruck. Upfront is a prominent Hyundai matrix 3D grille and big Hyundai badge.

The new Tucson will get a range of engines like a 2.0L 4 cylinder long with a 1.6L Turbo 4 cylinder making 180HP and then a hybrid model with 230HP. A Tucson N-Line will get 290HP from a 2.5L Turbo 4 cylinder.

The rear too is very unique with vertical LED taillights integrating a light bar, a Hyundai badge placed in the rear glass, and the signature, yet still annoying, side mounted dual exhausts. Inside will also be a more unique interior with unusually shaped analog gauges though a dull digital instrument cluster is on offer. Of course, expect around a 10in touchscreen and push button shifter. The new Tucson will be built in Alabama along with the Santa Fe, Sonata, and Elantra for the US market and should be unveiled later this year.

The BMW M340i Touring is already very close to the definition of the perfect car – at least for us. With 382 horsepower (285 kilowatts) and a 0 to 62 miles per hour (0-100 kilometers per hour) acceleration in just 4.4 seconds, it’s one helluva family ride and we can’t think of any ways to make it better. Thankfully, the folks over at BMW had some great ideas for the M340i Touring First Edition.

The interior is equally awesome with a mix of two BMW Individual leather upholsteries – Silverstone and Fjord Blue, with contrasting Kyalami Orange stitching. There’s a First Edition badge and with a production number positioned just above the glove box on the passenger’s side of the cabin. The dashboard, center console, and door panels all get exclusive carbon trim with a lacquered finish.

The powerplant also is perfect, being the 3.0L Turbo straight 6 making 382HP and 369 lb-ft of torque sent to all four wheels through an 8 speed gearbox.

There are also other touches like a blacked out exterior pack from the trim to the kidney grille. It dances on 19in wheels with red calipers. Inside is pretty unique too with a Silverstone and Fjord Blue leather interior with orange stitching and special badging, carbon trim and more.

After years of development, the Chiron based Bugatti Divo is about to get ready to be delivered to its first customers. Bugatti has spent 2 years developing the dynamics of the $5.4million (₦2 billion) Divo of just 40 will be built. Bugatti says the Divo is their return to true coachbuilding, making bespoke cars for each individual customer and focusing on meticulous detail over volume product. The unit you see above is covered in protective shipping film to prevent damage along with test wheels and a special underbody to check all electronics and chassis bits before delivery.

The Divo is powered by an 8.0L Quad Turbocharged W16 making 1,479HP. But the even crazier numbers are the 1,005lbs of downforce at 236MPH, 198lbs more than the Chiron, and can pull 1.6g’s in the corners. It also has shed 77lbs in weight over the Chiron to come in around 4,300lbs. 0-60 is expected around 2.4sec and a 236MPH top speed.

There also is a MASSIVE quality and assurance checklist headed by one man, Steve Jenny, who has checked and confirmed 95% of Bugatti’s delivered since 2005. Along with interior checks, he also dies a 186mile test run along with an additional 31mile drive and a 6hour inspection. Outside it’s not easy to tell that there is a Chiron underneath with the totally unique exterior front he customs LED headlights, to the detailed aero work on the hood and front intake section, to the front fender vents, the massive side wing blade, sleeker C shape swoop, massive rear active wing, unique LED taillights. you get the point! Though just step inside and you forget you are in a Divo as the interior is near identical to the Chiron.

The fourth generation of Kia Sorento 2021 has just arrived in the United State market to begin sales.

The pricing of the 2021 Sorento is likely to have a relative increase based on the current cost of the 2020 model. The 2020 Sorento is currently listed at a starting price of $26,990, so we can expect to see the 2021 model start off somewhere between $25,000 (₦11 million) and $30,000 ( ₦17 million).

The all new Audi A3 sedan is confirmed for the US in its fourth generation with sharp new looks in all trims. In Europe, the A3’s top gasoline engine is a 150-horsepower, 1.5-liter turbo I-4, while the current model’s North American engine is a 184-hp 2.0-liter turbo. Audi isn’t saying which gas engine will power the North American A3, though the existing 184-hp 2.0-liter turbo, or even the Volkswagen Jetta GLI’s 228-hp 2.0-liter turbo, are possibilities. Whichever engine comes to the U.S.-spec A3, it will be combined with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system and standard seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.

There also is a wider body with long vender vents, huge hood vents revealing large intercooler fans, and a much wider side sill. Then coming to the rear is that the insane carbon fiber wing derived from racing. Often called a “monkey seat”, this multi leveled wing can be adjusted with a button by 20 degrees and other bits being manually adjustable. Even somebody panels are now carbon like the roof, trunk, transmission mount, sway bars, cross tunnel, and chassis reinforcements.

The striking 2021 Lexus LC500 Convertible is just about to go on sale for this summer and we finally have new pricing info. The Convertible will start off at 40 Million naira while the limited edition Inspiration Series, just 100 units, starts at 47 million naira. The limited edition is painted in Structural Blue, a paint taking years of development using the incredible biology of a butterfly wing.

The LC500’s engine remains unchanged and that’s not necessarily a bad thing as the glorious sounding 5.0L n/a V8 puts out 471HP and 398 lb-ft of torque through the revised 10 speed gearbox to the rear wheels. 0-60 happens in 4.6sec with a limited 168MPH TopSpeed.

Toyota is testing the all New 2021 Corolla Apex Edition in the US to see if a limited product would have demand here, GR Corolla is coming soon. Toyota plans to make just 6,000 Apex Editions, each offered in one of three different color options. BMW’s first fully electric SUV is here and won’t be coming to the US. Using a heavily modified X3 CLAR chassis, the iX3 concept was unveiled back in 2018 and now finally the production model is here. BMW has made sure to change the styling like adding a unique front grille design and totally unique front bumper with side art vents and blue accents. BMW new e-drive system is designed to be modular and scale able to be used across many different models.

Underneath is a 5th gen e-drive system with an 80kWh battery pack on the floor making 282HP and 295 lb-ft of torque and capable of 285 miles of range on the WLTP cycle. It is RWD only as well, 0-60 happens in 6.8sec and can do 150kWh fast charging going from 0% to 80% in 34min.

The side of the new iX3 also has a unique lower side skirt for aero, a silver accented side vent and unique aero wheels. The rear looks sort of the same as the normal X3 minus the exhaust tips and instead adds a diffuser with blue accents. The iX3 is not a “true” EV in the sense it uses a modified X3 platform like what Mercedes is doing with the EQC and upcoming EQA and EQB. The first TRUE BMW EV SUV will be the iNext which will sport a totally new design language inside and out and impressive technology.

BMW is yet to disclose the interior view of the iX3, but it’s not expected to look much different from the regular that of the regular X3, and that’s no bad thing. A 12.3in digital instrument cluster and 10.25in infotainment screen are standard, with the latter being accessed via a control dial between the front seats, rather than by touch only. That means the iX3’s infotainment should be easier to use on the move than the all-touchscreen setup found in the E-tron and the combination of touchpads and touchscreen used in the EQC.

Zoox an American autonomous vehicle company currently headquartered in Foster City, California with multiple offices of operations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. As of June 2020, Zoox currently has around 900 employees, after it had to cut 10% of its staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Amazon intends to work with Zoox to create more fleet of self-driving cars, But analysts also suggested that Amazon may use Zoox to build self-driving delivery vehicles too to boost the delivery time of Amazon products.

Amazon has also bought similar electric vehicle manufacturers but Zoox will operate as a standalone business, Amazon said, with its leadership unchanged.

“Zoox is working to imagine, invent, and design a world-class autonomous ride-hailing experience,” said Jeff Wilke, who runs Amazon’s consumer business.

“Like Amazon, Zoox is passionate about innovation and about its customers, and we’re excited to help the talented Zoox team to bring their vision to reality in the years ahead.”

Talks between Amazon and Zoox were first reported in May. The purchase price, which has not been officially disclosed, is a steep discount to the 1.24 trillion naira valuation that the six-year-old Zoox had in July 2018, according to two people familiar with the deal.

While Zoox had been planning to launch a pilot programme this year, the company was knocked by the coronavirus pandemic and had been seeking a sale since May.

Ford revealed its most selling car in the American market, with a completely new front end and a specific rear. Ford focused on internal developments. Ford did not reveal the full details of the car, but the car will carry the same platform (the chassis) of the current generation Ford T platform The platform will be adjusted and increased as standard. The car is available as an 8-inch screen and higher categories, as well as optionally a 12-inch screen, SYNC 4 system, while providing a standard small screen between the 4-inch counters and higher classes with an 8-inch screen and a screen. It has been 50 years since the first Ranger Rover launched back on June 17th 1970 and JLR is celebrating this longstanding nameplate with a new special edition. Called the Range Rover 50, it can be had in both the long and short wheelbases and is based on the Autobiography trim. All 50 editions get Auric Atlas accents outside which is basically a copper-gold though it can be blacked out as seen above and a slew of 50 badges.

Under the hood is a 5.0L V8 making 518HP and of course going to all four wheels.
