Politics / Re: Biafra Will Be Totally Different From Nigeria. Here's How! by carnegiefan: 1:29am On Oct 28, 2015 |
Biafra is a country that, BY DESIGN, will be very peaceful and calm. It will be so peaceful that beat cops will walk around UNARMED. The era of "kill and go" will be gone for ever and ever. If you order shoot at sight anywhere in Biafra you will be arrested and charged for murder (if anyone dies from it), or reckless endangerment of the public (if nobody died). Biafra, the nation of our dream! |

What do you mean by that Port Harcourt can never be Iguocha? Are you blind? Can't you read historical document presented to you in black and white? I thank God for other Ijaws here like Dearpreye. speedyGonzales: Boko haram are not walking around towns and villages with AK-47s. They (like kidnappers) are faceless criminals who hide and dodge from law enforcement officers. But Fulani walk around freely with these illegal guns and with TOTAL impunity. This made me to think that they must have licenses to carry them. If they have licenses to carry these weapons, why not such licenses be made available to farmers and vigilantes? If they are carrying the guns illegally, why can they get away with it? This question exposes the rot that is the Nigerian justice system. 4 Likes |

Forced Islamization of the whole south has ALWAYS been on the agenda of the northerners. But not to worry, we shall bulldoze the mosque the next day after we get Biafra. Even the supposed peaceful Buddhists of Nepal understand the Islamic expansionist agenda. |

The longer they detain Kanu, the more resolved and stronger the agitation. I know a lot of our people who were sitting on the fence before but have now decided to give maximum support to Biafra. The much I know of Nnamdi Kanu, he is prepared to DIE for Biafra. He is an HONORABLE person, and honor requires that you are prepared to die for what you believe. Nigeria has bastardized the term "Honorable" (as usual). Honorable Nnamdi Kanu, we await your speedy release to continue the struggle. 4 Likes |

Thanks @OP. This is the point I've made here particularly to my Igbo brothers who want to limit Biafra to Igboland. Biafra was not, is not, and will never be an Igbo only affair. Yes, there are Igbo and non-Igbo who don't believe in Biafra, but that is what a simple referendum will resolve. 2 Likes |

GentleToks: You Let me ask you a question: What happened to MASSOB and their leader Uwazuruike? Weren't they totally tame and completely non-violent, yet you people hunted them like game animals, killing and maiming them willy-nilly? You people think that the WHOLE WORLD is not seeing what is happening? How many times did Alex Salmond get arrested by the British secret police and clamped in a dungeon for canvassing Scottish independence? How many times did Spanish secret police detain Artos? Notice that I didn't use Nnamdi Kanu, just to prove to you that it really doesn't matter how Biafran agitators make their case, they will be given zoo treatment. But not to worry, the zoo will find out soon that it cannot treat a citizen of a major power anyhow and get away scottfree. The reason is that major countries have MANY interested parties who can go after you if you mess with their citizen. If you escape their government, you will not escape their "non-state actors". Free Kanu, or face the consequences. |

Politics / Re: Fulani Herdsmen And Military Grade Riffles: Who Issues The Licenses? by carnegiefan: 1:48am On Oct 27, 2015 |
My question is simple: Assuming that the Fulani herdsmen are licensed to carry military grade riffles, why can't the local farmers and community vigilantes obtain similar licenses? Why are they condemned to carry only shot guns and be completely at the mercy of better armed herdsmen? I am for a totally gun-free society; but what is totally unacceptable is unequal access to firearms by members of the public. If Fulani must carry military grade riffles to protect their cattle, I need similar arms to protect my farm. QED. 6 Likes |
Politics / Fulani Herdsmen And Military Grade Riffles: Who Issues The Licenses? by carnegiefan: 1:42am On Oct 27, 2015 |
This thread is motivated by the menace of Fulani herdsmen, but particularly about the legality of the AK-47s they carry about in Nigeria. This issue is important because the Fulani herdsmen often overpower local vigilantes who are armed with shot-guns (armed according to Nigerian law). News abound in all parts of Southern Nigeria about killings, robberies and rapes by the herdsmen. Nigerian law prohibits non-military members of the public from carrying military grade weapons such as the 7.62×39mm of the AK-47. So, who issues the licenses that legalize these weapons in Fulani hands? Why can't local vigilantes -whose primary job is community security- obtain the licenses to carry similar weapons? According to the Nigerian Firearms Act -Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1990 (Chapter 146) Schedules: Schedule (Sections 2, 3-5, 9, 24-26, 34) Part I Prohibited Firearms 1. Artillery. 2. Apparatus for the discharge of any explosive or gas-diffusing projectile. 3. Rocket weapons. 4. Bombs and grenades. 5. Machine-guns and machine-pistols. 6. Military rifles, namely those of calibres 7.62 mm, 9 mm., .300 inches and .303 inches. 7. Revolvers and pistols whether rifled or unrifled (including flint-lock pistols and cap pistols). 8. Any other firearm not specified in Part II or Part III of this Schedule. Part II Personal Firearms 1. Shotguns other than- (a) automatic and semi-automatic shotguns; and (b) shotguns provided with any kind of mechanical reloading device. 2. Sporting rifles, namely rifles of calibres other than those specified in Item 6 of Part I. 3. Air-guns, air-rifles or air-pistols. 4. Humane killers of the captive bolt type. http://www.nigeria-law.org/Firearms%20Act.htm 3 Likes |

There is nothing more dangerous to the Igbo interest than another Igbo who has been empowered by Nigeria. Mark my words. Yes I believe in Biafra, but I believe it will come after MANY years; at least until all the "Nigerians" in our midst have been put in their selfish homes NEVER again to speak for us. Can any Igbo tell me what Senator Ekweremadu of Enugu State -Deputy Senate President for ever- has achieved for SE? Short answer: NOTHING. Enugu "international" airport is still every much a local airport. @OP we are not shocked that you are asking us to forget 40% of Igboland. |

Now if you make that same argument with Wike, some foreign power will ask you: "but your governor is Igbo". The real puppeteer in the North will play innocent. You understand now 6 Likes |

EasternLeopard: My brother I really believe that these types of threads are unnecessary. Unless I don't understand Biafra enough, we Igbo people are not the only ones who believe in it. You alluded same in your comment above. Even the Edo is angling for it with a different name called Lower Niger Congress. So talking about an Igbo only country and discussing its boundaries in Nairaland is not wise. I say this because I've once argued with an Ngwa, and even an Onicha person about being Igbo. There was NEVER (historically speaking) an Igbo only nation for a reason. It never existed. Biafra is only failing, so far, because we haven't figured out a way to get it. Once we figure it out, it will happen. I cannot see myself debating with anybody about Igbo lands. It is a conversation I cannot have with anybody, particularly in Nairaland where a Fulani can be claiming to be Ikwerre. 1 Like |
