What is PH compared to Biafra

To be truthful, PH belongs to Ikwerres who deny their Igboness and the Okrikans who are linked to the Ijaws.

If the Ikwerres reject Biafra respect their view and let them be.

Any SS Igbo community that rejects Biafra must be respected.

Israel is smaller compared to Igboland but more prosperous than Nigeria

We Igbos must forget PH for Biafra sake.

Those Ikwerres who supports Biafra should be relocated further North and a new city rebuilt for them.

Those who rejects Biafra should remain with Nigeria

Biafra must never be built on force but mutual agreement.

Let me tell you one secret

The earlier we allow people like Truckpusher pull his people away from Biafra the better

Why do I stand on this

One day oil will lose its value . When it happens, Igbo technological skill will be the new wealth .

By then their Children will beg to be Biafrans on Biafra own terms of condition

In politics look at the future and not the present.

Ok, hear yourself on the bolded words. If Ikwere votes to reject Biafra we then take the ones that voted for Biafra and settle them somewhere northwards inside Biafra. I thought that majority vote carries the day? A NO vote ends it; they stay in naija. QED.
Look, maybe to qualify my position more, I believe in FREE WILL of people, which means that we shouldn't cede them BEFORE a valid referendum is held, as if shedding a dead weight or liability.
Ikwerre should get an opportunity via a referendum to choose. If MAJORITY of them reject Biafra, then they stay in Nigeria. No force whatsoever, but NONE will be resettled in Biafra because it doesn't work that way.

But we mustn't cede our land before anyone SERIOUSLY contested it.
Ceding it apriori is tantamount to irresponsibility and weakness.

Biafra demand for independence is based on the right of indigenous groups to self determination.

If those ethnic groups have no interest in self determination but are more interested in the pipe dream of restructured Nigeria, then our Biafra demand foundation is already built on sinking ground.

I am a commoner with no access to any foreign visa, people like us have more to lose in this Biafra ish than the "strategists", cos if it goes wrong, we pay with our lives, for the strategists, if it goes wrong, they pay with just their wealth.

Pardon us, when we become a bit worried on the way this struggle is being handled.

Bros, you know I don't joke with your positions on issues. In fact you are one of the brightest Igbo brains here in Nairaland "foreign visa" or not.

Here,s the way we should view this:

We have a history that show that our enemies can NEVER be pleased by our concessions. You yourself alluded to that fact earlier in this thread.
We must not cede an inch of Igboland to anybody.

I personally don't think that Biafra will come overnight. I think it will come years down the line (I don't know when). We must not hurriedly dig the yam else we may have to sit down later to dig up the broken tail.

Some of my brother here have never contested for landed property before, obviously. haha.
How can you EVEN THINK of ceding what history says that you own?
If you cede what history says that you own, why would your opponent allow you to own anything?
Once you show that thoughtless concession, you lose respect and your opponent sees you as ready meat for taking.
Nna did anybody actually think this proposal through at all?
Nigeria is bad o, but I don't think it is bad enough for me to sell my father's lands including the "ime obi" land.
Concession on land is a slippery slope; concede one, you concede all!

Honestly I respect Yoruba on this type of thing.

Yoruba took effective charge of Lagos (whether Awori and Egun) claim Yoruba or not.
I sometimes don't understand Igbo kind of weak thinking.

Anyway, let me assume that the proposal will never see the light of day.

I didn't read the whole thing but I read enough.

So here's my position.

WE ARE NOT CEDING ANY INCH OF IGBO LAND TO ANYBODY. EOD.

If we must cede Igweocha to whoever hates Biafra, then we may as well stay in Nigeria forever because it means we are not ready to do what is necessary to free ourselves from slavery.

WTF ? shocked

So, we cede Igweocha, then what?
Do you think they will stop there? Hahahahahaha! They will claim ALL Igbo lands in Rivers, and then they move to Ngwaland in Abia.
And you better believe that we can't get any Igbo land in Cross river because we have shown that we don't value our lands.
From Ngwaland, they send their probosis into Anioma.
By the time they finish with us, the entire Igboland will be in patches, unconnected whatsoever with each other.

My people, leave this matter to seasoned strategists. This should not be discussed by every Tom D.cik and Harry.

Though Nnamdi Kanu has his faults, but he by far has the right mind and understanding to handle this issue. So far he has not failed yet.

Asking that we cede Igweocha is irresponsible.

The war was totally unnecessary because Gowon could have simply implemented Aburi. He failed and instead started the war.
Fastforward 45 years after, Biafra is issue still very much around.

And Biafra we must have with or without non-Igbo easterners.
ezeagu wants a strictly Igbo only country but Biafra is a spirit in the east and welcomes all true believers in that spirit irrespective of tribe.
the aniomas in delta state bought into that spirit when their sons and daughters fought and died for Biafra.

First, they will be forcefully converted to Islam. Note that Igbo have been the only major Christian population in Nigeria, and the east.
The Igbo shields the east against forceful Islamization as is happening now in the middle belt.
Once Islamized, they become like northern minorities, at the killing whims and caprices of the Fulani overlords.

Soon there will be an Emir of each of those minority clans, and they can do nothing about it.

Biafra will be totally different from Nigeria. I read today that the IMF is pressing Nigeria to devalue the Naira. The main reason IMF gave is that 90% of Nigeria's foreign exchange comes from oil exports. While watching a show concerning South Korea, one Korean said that Korea is constantly working and producing products because his country has no natural resource. For a country without natural resource to have 3 times Nigeria's GDP with only about a third of Nigeria's population speaks volumes about how flat footed Nigeria is.
Biafra, the only hope for African humanity.

After lamenting, the rational thing to do is to seek a lasting solution.
My recommendation would be that all vigilantes in Igbo land and eastern nigeria should band together into one security force that roots these vandals out of our lands for good.
Our people do not constitute a menace to the Fulani in Northern Nigeria.
We must not allow their menace in Eastern Nigeria.
How hard would it be for all the vigilantes in the east to band together and seek good arms?
Your enemy is not sleeping.
Soon they will be collecting taxes in cash and in kind (your wives).

Eze, who is the wife of Bishop Sostenas Eze of the Enugu North Anglican Diocese, pointed out that apart from raping women and killing people in the communities, the herdsmen also engaged in robbery and kidnapping.

She lamented that they were helpless because they had complained to the law enforcement agencies to no avail.

She disclosed that people were now afraid to go to farm unless they were in groups for fear of rape or outright killing.

According to her, “They have butchered two men who tried to confront them, they rape women and destroy their crops.

“They pretend to be selling bush meat and when you stop over to buy, their gang will come out of the bush and rob you of your belongings.

“They are now wielding AK 47 guns against villagers who confront them; and since the vigilante do not have such sophisticated weapons, they are helpless.”

I just highlighted in bold letters above why no sane Igbo or easterner can believe in one Nigeria.
Just read the import.

And law enforcement is blind to their evil machinations.

It's like saying that a former soviet satellite state like Kazakhstan will invade Russia undecided. I repeat, NO FORCE from Africa can dare engage in warfare with a free Biafra. Let me ask those concerned about Biafran defence; had Britain and other world powers not backed nigeria, do they think nigeria could have engaged Biafra in war? Remember the north wanted to leave after the counter coup, because they feared the repercussion of them remaining in thesame country with Easterners after their cowardly savagery acts, it was the British, their god that gave them the confidence to remain in the zoo. We don't need armed police and citizens. Compulsory 1 or 2-yr military service for all Biafran citizens is good enough to beef up our defences going forward cool

Death penalty will not exist in Biafra. Anyone who has actually THOUGHT about it will come to the same conclusion that it does not stop murder. In fact, it inures societal conscience and makes the society more violent.
But the most important reason I (and our ancestors) don't support death penalty is because the human being is not qualified to manage a type of a punishment which fall under the direct sovereign prerogative of THE MOST HIGH.
Destroying a human being "legally" is tantamount to destroying the temple of the MOST HIGH legally.
War is a different kettle of fish because it is a type of temporary madness by humans. Yes we plan for even that madness when some enemy forces us into it. That is why our defence policy is principally DEFENSIVE in nature.
Legally scheduling a date for the taking of an unarmed human life is somewhat odd. Insanity argument of war cannot stand there.
So, we do away with it in Biafra.

the thread is very intresting n informative. It feels like we are in d paliament and ur agurments are all centred on d PEOPLE. That is what a true goverment is n what biafra will be....... my take on d debate on the floor is that biafrans should be trained to oppose any invading country while arms are being controlled by the local police. Like AAInEqGuniea stated,i say n quote,''the ppl will only be let access to arms when invaded or when going for hunts if ''so so'' is a game lover''. That way d people will be trained to withstand invasion as well as arms will be controlled, so we will live in internal peace while defending our soveriegnty will be garanteed. Xo we have it both ways.......... our regular army should be up to 4million or above while d reserve should be d ppl.

More like the nearest military manned weapon site. The thought of having heavy arms even under the control of police is frightening.
There have been incidents of police coups in some countries before.
Israel already does what I propose. For a country with a history of wars and invasions by bitter neighbors, Israel does an excellent job of keeping guns away from ordinary citizens. With the exception of the "settlers", the rest of Israeli society is barely armed; yet the country relies on a reserve force of all citizens of fighting age.
The argument that guns must be in the hands of citizens to defend against invasion and coups if a false argument.
We can have civil society as well as strong defence.

I will advice you to study Joseon and Switzerland to understand better why one was an easy prey and the other a feared nation.

Life has many perception

It is your duty to pick the best perception while not neglecting others

ONE QUESTION YOU AND carnegiefan SHOULD ASK YOURSELVES IS

BETWEEN CRIME AND INVASION WHICH THREATENS BIAFRA THE MOST.?

To me, it is an invasion.

Biafrans are naturally non violent people

So even with the possession of firearms like Switzerland, we won't experience much gun death.

True or False cool

Touche for bolded words... but then that is exactly why we shouldn't introduce a gun culture.

There is a very important point that AAinEqGuinea made, and it is that we cannot simply assume that our neighbors will invade us. Nobody wants to invade a country with well trained military. I was watching a documentary on Youtube that stated that Israel trains her pilots for many many more years than any Arab country, and their thinking is quite simple -better training makes better soldiers. Hence one Israeli pilot flying the same plane can down 10 of Arab ones.
There is relative peace among countries of the world today, and the reason is that almost every country has a relatively better trained military than in the 40s or 60s. No matter how greedy an invader may be, the invader risks death if invading a country with a well trained and well equipped military. A lot of countries will love to invade and overrun Israel, but they are not doing so for a reason.
To me, the peace and serenity that will fuel our innovation will be defeated if we can't move around FREELY, ANY TIME, ANYWHERE in Biafra.
A scientist might be in his/her lab for days and work many odd hours. Kanu said that we will build Biafra DAY AND NIGHT for 70 years, LOL.
A bitter enemy armed with a handgun can waylay someone in the night. We are peaceful, but we are also human beings.

You are lost you half-baked biafraudian egomaniac!

You stupidly claimed that my piece assumes that "every poster here posts from CELL PHONES". This is not only silly but malevolent. Silly because you need a phone, wi fi or wireless, which use identical technology in order to get on the internet. It can be mobile phone or laptop or desktop or the sub-varieties!

The 3 statements you made below contradicted each other on the topic of Internet Protocol Address (IP address)

1. Any idiot with the barest clue can create 100 accounts and be online at the same time deceiving himself.
2. So, the short answer remains YES IT IS POSSIBLE, VERY POSSIBLE TO OPERATE 100 IPs from ONE computer.
3. And... YES IT IS POSSIBLE TO OWN 100 NAIRALAND ACCOUNTS AND BE LIKING YOUR OWN POSTS FROM THE SAME COMPUTER.

Your statements 1 and 2 above are answered as follows:
Each computer on the Internet has one IP address that uniquely identifies it from all other computers on the global Internet. This number cannot be duplicated or cloned. Your silly argument that you can clone 100 IP addresses and be online at the same time is stark computer illiteracy! Not to seek expert advice on this but to insist like a barking dog that you are right is harming your learning rather than anyone!

Your statement number 3 is a changed position and is different as to the subject matter because IP address is different from website accounts you open in order to use the facilities of the website like Nairaland. Of course you can create fraudulent or fake or moniker accounts on a website if you have nothing useful to do with your life and are criminally-minded. This is not the same as 100 IPAs, you fraud!

However, 100 of your fakes or monikers cannot be online at the same time. You would have to login and logout to use different accounts. This is unlike those different guys you called Nigerianists, most of whom were online together at the same time most of the time, which is unlike your monikers that are alternating between your fakes or ghost accounts. As Nigerianists, shouldn't they defend Nigeria, unlike you biafraudian e-warriors, stupid?

I have checked some of these members' profiles and have noted that some were registered as late as 2013. Some were not even resident in Nigeria but as from diversed countries as USA, UK, Germany, Italy etc! Some of them made comments occasionally, which means infrequent visits to NL or too busy with better things of life than to fight a dedicated ignoramus and tribal goat like you.

Look here troll, you are really free to say whatever you want. Your simple aim is just to derail this thread.
There are many simple ways of having more than one IP address on same computer at the same time if one wants. There are other ways of simply changing IPs when logged on with each moniker. I'm really not interested in that topic here.
My interest here is to talk about HOW BIAFRA WILL BE BETTER THAN NIGERIA.
Thank God that 99% of my post in this thread is just that, while 100% of yours have been to change the topic here to IP addresses... ANYTHING BUT BIAFRA.

Dude, GOODBYE.

Now, back to topic. cool

As US becomes less powerful in the Pacific theatre, Japan will have no choice but to re-arm herself.

Biafra on the other hand has no US protective policy and must depend entire on herself for protection

So the need to have a huge armed population sufficient to wade off a large invasive force is necessary. cool

As far as I know, Japan ALREADY has enough arms to defend herself against any invading foe. Yes, you are right that US protection is helping, but Japan can also defend herself.

Actually bros, if Biafra develops the type of weapons she needs, NOBODY will invade her.
Efficient and better armed militaries always win over poorly trained and not so well armed ones.
Israel did it against massive Egyptian and Syrian militaries in the past. Single Israeli fighter pilots were downing tens of Egyptian and Syrian jets. Even in Biafra, with lesser arms, Biafra killed 2 Nigerian soldiers for every Biafran loss.
War is fought with BRAINS mainly. Throw in weapons, we can stop any invader.
We must not destroy our civilian serenity and peace from fear of invaders, else the invaders won't need to invade to derail our visions.

The reason there is no coup in US is because everyone is armed enough to thwart any coup

While Russia had military coup , US never had one

Therefore an armed nation reduces

1) Foreign oppression

2) Coup

3) Crimes

My brother the only reason why there has not been any coups in the US is that the system is strictly bottom-up designed, not top-down.
People have real political power at the local levels, hence, power hungry people move from one political power base to another very easily. I've seen one individual be a city mayor after serving as state governor for two term. Same guy is back again as state governor and may do two terms again.
No group or persons in the US has more arms than the United states military; and I'm being very conservative in this assertion.
The peoples arms are mainly for killing other people -fellow citizens.

As a good student of history, the case of Joseon(1392-1910) was very pathetic I must say.it was subject to its neighbors, preferring to live in "peace" than stand up as equals just as Goguryeo had stood up to the various Chinese dynasties that confronted it.

Pertaining arewaoduanistan and kamerun,I'd suggest that in the presence of a highly trained and mechanized army, there should be the formation of ring states serving as buffer between us and these countries.
On the Arewa side,
1]restoration of the Edo empire(comprising of Edo state, itsekiri and urhobo/isoko parts of Delta state, ebira parts of kogi state with the oba as emperor ruling with an elected prime minister
2]the Izon Confederacy comprising of the different ijaw kingdoms lying between the forcados and bonny rivers. This state would be structured on the UAE model with kingdoms within like kalabari, nembe, wakirike etc being independent but united in policies like currency and foreign affairs.
3]the igaladoma dukedom which would be a state uniting the igalas and idomas of old Benue state.the Ata' would be the duke with a chief minister ruling with him.the Igboid igalas of ibaji would of course be ceded to Igboland.

On the Eastern side,I'd suggest that after first concluding treaties of defense and friendship with Germany and France,a massive invasion of kamerun would be launched in concert with southern Cameroonian guerrillas(or ambazania as they call themselves) with the stated goal of an independent Ambazania. If the invasion force plan is modeled on the schliefen plan,Yaunde would be taken in weeks with biyya forced to surrender and sign up the independence of ambazania.
Once that's achieved, the whole Biafran lands East of Oyono(Cross) river would be ceded to Ambazania and the country strengthened by our diplomacy and economics.

This way,we'd gain defensive depth without the added nuisance of a plethora of ethnicities.
Igbo and Ibibio(the only ethnicities I'd want in Biafra) world population is about 50-70M,so mustering an army of 5-7M shouldn't be a problem.. And we can also augment by establishing Obia Legio Biafra(Biafran foreign legion).

Pls continue...
@First bold:
Bros, your ideas are MANY MANY YEARS ahead of Biafra's independence (if Biafra will ever attempt such). The French won't ever work with anybody to yank the French speaking part of Kamerun off the English speaking part. In fact, let's not even go there, else Biafra will never see the light of day.

@Second bold:
Yes, Biafran total fighting force (standing and reserve) should not be less than 8 million.

The rest of your ideas are very interesting and are hereby presented to the general house! cheesy

First of all, I will confess my biases here. I come from a gun loving culture where acquiring a gun was an important rite of passage for every adult male. I am of the opinion that we need guns in private hands not only to defend our nation from foreign invaders but also defend the citizenry from aspiring tyrants. The government should be afraid of the people.

My brother there is really no need for "the government to be afraid of the people"; our system won't allow anyone to sit too comfortably to start scheming evil. Japan remains my gold standard here. In Japan, the type of civility there is almost heavenly. The violent crime there is consistently among the least in the whole world, and the main reason is that people are not armed. Their politicians are changed like weather, so they don't have time to seek ways of becoming god. Even the just announced plans for a little tinker to their self imposed pacifism is getting fierce knocks from their own people. They've seen that horse before!
Japan is surrounded by very bitter and powerful enemies: China to the west, Russia to the North, North Korea to the north west, even SE asians hate Japan with bitterness. US protection apart, Japan can still defend herself. We should be able to create a political system (as I highlighted in the first page) that only attract the right people, and even if the wrong person gets there, s/she will be stopped by the political system in place.
And yes, like Japan, our would -be invaders won't dare.

Karny,I think your proposal is bit farfetched due to the attachment Igbos have to land...
In this regard,I'd propose the division of the country into cultural areas like for eg..all members of a particular clan like ngwa or anang would make up one cultural area.these areas would function as regions.
Moreover, the principle of origins would be dual in the sense that one can be from the cultural area he was born in addition to that which his father is from. And if three successive generations are born in a place, they "lose" their father's place of origin.
Moreover, measures would be in place to ensure that people in a cultural area learn the dialect in addition to that of standard Igbo.

Your ideas are hereby presented to the general house! cheesy
For the record brother, the stated idea has been that Biafra will be structured into "clan" administrative areas (LGAs if you like), so the fear of being totally emasculated politically shouldn't materialize. But we must take deliberate steps to de-emphasize our differences and encourage "sameness and oneness" in Biafra. Division is always a primordial but dangerous slippery slope. Once we overemphasize the differences of the clans by discouraging persons not born there from contesting elections, then, it means that we have recreated Nigeria in Biafra. Next people would start noticing that they are not from the same "umunna"; then they next notice that they are not from same bloodline; then they notice that they are not from same mother!

The principal reason behind Nigeria's political (and hence national) failure is the division embedded in the Nigerian system; the division that denied Zik the leadership of the western region; the same that Ahmadu Bello used against non-Northerners particularly Igbo people.
Clans can accept new members irrespective of origin; what matters is that the person cares enough for that clan. A Ngwa person can be welcomed into the Nnewi clan provided that Nnewi people know him as a local person that helps to better their lives.
Remember that Jaja of Opobo was so adopted and made a king.

This idea of yours is what lead to the destruction of Joseon by the Japanese and Chinese

Do you know what a German general told Hitler when he proposed to invade Switzerland.?

For every German soldier you send, Swiss will deploy 2.

The director and you are wrong on this one

You think our Neighbours love us

Odua Arewanistan Cameroon can't be trusted in keeping peace with Biafra

Arming both sex in the fashion of Israel and Switzerland is the best measure to protect our sovereignty

You are mixing things up, quite frankly. The Swiss are far less populated than Biafra. The entire Biafran military reserve force will almost equal the total population of Switzerland, about 8 million.
Biafran standing force (the ready to go force) should be small say 50,000 -100,000 highly trained, heavily armed force.
That force, my friend, will be so well trained and so well equipped that it can stop an invading force ten times its size.
The job of keeping Biafra free will first fall on the shoulders of the military, and then the reserve force.
Ordinary citizens have no business carrying firearms around. Beat cops should work in packs to arrest errant citizens and diffuse potential incendiary situations.
If we want true peace and security, we should keep guns away from our civil life, and work hard to build families up, provide social safe nets, and reform criminals.
