ayoncox:As much as I hated to do it, I finally reported it to one of my aunts. We will be contacting the man very soon and maybe heading to the police station |
advanceDNA:Thanks for this. I already told her I am not getting any drugs for her. I am not a doctor. |
My cousin just told me last night that she just got raped on Sunday afternoon/evening (6th July, 2025). I stay with them for now. She's 18, the first of two daughters and was still virgin (as far as I know). Her only [older] brother is in school. She's been acting funny since on Sunday evening. She couldn't hold it in anymore and, since there is no one else she could actually confide in, she confided in me. Now she's begging me not to tell anyone and not to cause trouble. She only wants me to help her get a drug (if any) that will prevent pregnancy. She told me about the man coming to see her in her mother's restaurant and said she was going to talk to the man about getting me a job, but when she went into his car, he forced himself on her. Honestly I am angry right now! I am angry at three things: First, I am angry at my family. I have a family where the children are afraid to open up, because if you do, you will be blamed and castigated upon. I understand her fear and apprehension about letting other people know, but I just can't let this go. Secondly, I am angry at our society. How can a man confidently feels he can force himself on a lady and get away with it? What kind of society do we have? Thirdly, I am angry at myself. I am angry because I feel helpless. I can't let this thing go. I have to deal with this man, but I don't know how to do it without putting my cousin in a difficult position. I have tried to let her know that it is not her fault and that the man needs to pay for this, but she's been begging me to just let it go. She only confided in me because she's really scared of getting pregnant. According to her though, there was never any real penetration, but the man (who is a high ranking government official) actually "released" ON her, not IN her. (Does that even make sense?) How can I handle this issue right now? For me, I am planning to go all out and let hell break loose and let the heavens fall if they have to.

APC actually said they will be the end of PDP. True to their word, PDP is now dead. I can tell you also that this Obi/Elrufai proposal you are making will also be the end of ADC if they try it. Either ways, Nigerians are no longer interested in elections. It doesn't really matter what party they come in, it is still same old, same old! |
If this were in the northern part of Nigeria, ya'll will be throwing shades and saying all kinds of stuff, calling them names. Lets hear it for this one then. You people are funny! |
Do you know why I don't get upset or angry at this "Men of God?" It is because the people themselves are foolish and gullible! We get the kind of leaders and "Prophets" we deserve! Let them milk them dry! I will probably open my own 'God's business centre' very soon. |
Well, what we are practicing in Nigeria is never true democracy. We have too much ethnic sentiments to practice true democracy. The larger ethicities will always overshadow the others, and the South-West and North-West have learnt to collaborate together better politically than the other mostly because these two are the cradle of the Hausa and Yoruba people. They bound by more than just geography, they also have almost same religious sympathies. The Hausa people will rarely ever want to collaborate with the Igbo man politically because they have almost nothing in common. They both despise each other. For us, the minority in the North-West, we can only watch from the sidelines. |
I am a man who is still struggling at 34 (I am even ashamed to say it, but it's the truth). I love this your post. First: these comments by many of us are flawed, and they are wrong. Second: These are just opinions, mostly from men who have nothing really to offer a woman but a name. Third: Statistics don't lie; There are more men to women in Nigeria and worldwide. So nobody should ever allow themselves to be pressured. For me though I will prefer a younger woman, But I will never try to try to promote that to someone else. |
That will depend on which of the exs! But on a normal, I choose my health, both physical and mental; I choose neither! Let the past be the past! And this is not food either; this is poison! |
The Word "Garri" means "powder" or "powdered" or by extension "flour" (Could be grounded, grated, pounded or milled). So I will rather go with the Hausa origin. The full name of the Cassava Garri we know in Hausa is "Garrin Rogo" or "Garrin Kwaki" ("Rogo" meaning "Cassava" and "Kwaki" in some Hausa dialects mean "Fermented" or in some other Hausa dialects"Kwaki" is a corruption of the word "Kwari', which means "tough" or dried"). So ... Garrin Masara will mean = Maize or Corn (masara) powder Garrin Shinkafa = Rice (shinkafa) powder Garrin Rogo = Cassava (Rogo) powder. But "Eba" is not a Hausa food. In Hausa, the word is corrupted into "Teba," which actually have no meaning in the language. We can therefore say "Garri" has its origin somewhere in northern Nigeria, but Eba is from somewhere in southern Nigeria. Either ways, it is fully and truly Nigerian. |
This Samantha125 girl, I am beginning to like you. I love this post. Very enlightening. I love South Africa and I wish we can both respect each other, even if we might not like each other. I love the cultures there, even though I know very little about them, but they look colourful to me. I have always hoped to marry a South African woman I have long since accepted that it is not likely to ever going to happen though). You can be troublesome, but I admire your spirit. Please always post things like this. |
AndroBlaze:Ok this hurts. I am a Chelsea fan, but this your statement about Chelsea is the truest so far about his trophy. It seems our shame left with Abramovich. We are too big to be making this much noise about small trophies. I really wanted us to win it only because I just want us to get a trophy; any trophy at all, and because it will be a shame for us to go into such tournament and get beaten by clubs we consider smaller. I celebrate our qualification to the Champions League far more than this trophy though, even though we really needed both. |
G0sh! This is embarrassing! Una no dey shame? All these religious people sef! Yuck! |
If it's my sister, I know she deserve it. That girl is so lousy and annoying. I don warn am plenty time. So nothing concern me. |
I notice that in a day, we usually see at least 5 to 10 bad news from the South before we get one bad news from the North. But any time there's one from the North, everybody will not hesitate to call the North names and pour out all kinds of insult insinuating that that singular act from the North is the reason Nigeria is backward. If this happened in the North now, y'all would've called down all kinds of hail and brimstone. People are bad everywhere. |
Many policies of the federal government are geared towards building up the Fulani people. The Fulanis are quiet and never shout on social media or on the streets, but they silently control things in Nigeria. We all know they do not truly belong in Nigeria, or anywhere else, as a matter of fact. They are everywhere and nowhere (Buhari said it: He belongs to everyone and to No one), but they control Nigeria's government. That is why you always see policies that favour them; like the RUGA project that would've made the Fulani the only ethnic group to have their own local government in every state of the country. Now this herdsmen attacks and the impunity they enjoy is exposing the plot even to the blind. They are now being rewarded by every state government. El Rufa'i started it in my state and we thought it is just an isolated case. Buhari was promoting the RUGA project and we all said he was just Fulani that was why. They are now committing mass genocide of a holocaust proportion in Plateau and Benue states and the government is silent. Now we can see other states following suit. The land grabbing is almost complete. They mostly target the most fertile lands. The problem with real Nigerians is that we are not united. We always wash our hands off these attacks as long as it is not happening in our place. E go soon reach everybody house. I can never support retaliatory attacks, because then, innocent people will suffer the most, but we need to hold this government accountable for each gunmen attacks; the perpetrators need to be brought to justice. |
21st Century problems require 21st Century solutions. We create the monsters that end up haunting us. |
ChizzyBuna:Flesh and blood did not reveal this to you. Your list is a 95%. Destiny Etiko to me looks so much like a disfigured man (more like an unattractive man with oversized derrieres). Though I consider Lupita Nyong'o a perfect 10/10 |
Yo! Whadup with SA and USA |
GboyegaD:I am very sure that's what y'all keep telling yourselves. Even people like Kemi Badenoch who didn't migrated; people who were born there are now being made to understand that they do not really belong. It's okay. Lets all pretend it doesn't matter. They are only looking for a better life. I just wish them all the best. But as you, it is none of my business; their actions do not affect me in any way. |
SamuraiXXX:Thanks! I was just frustrated. It is kinda annoying our desperation, not only to leave, but to disparage and condemn our nation! |
irumole1975:Nigerians are the most hateful people you will ever meet; but our hatred is directed towards ourselves, not towards others. But many of us are breaking out of that mould. There is no place like Africa! |
GboyegaD:My ancestors migrated because the would not be slaves to anyone. They migrated to create their own world, not to worship and lick the arses of anyone. We are making ourselves slaves. |
Seriously, what is our obsession with taking pictures of dead people? I came here to see the joyful faces of the rescued, but I am met with a picture of death. We are normalizing violence. That photo in a sensible nation, will be censored. |
I think the japa syndrome is propelled by nothing other than low self esteem. A Nigerian generally considers himself lower and inferior to a white man. Most Nigerians worship white people. We hate been black and despise anything black. So this Japa nonsense we are hearing has very little to do with financial independence. We are a loud-mouthed people who complain about everything, especially the government; as long as we are not the ones eating the national cake. We are just slaves of our own making. We are a disgrace to our ancestors aswear. |
Hello
|
Oboy I don read plenty books this year. I read loads of novels this year; Message from Nam, The Winner, etc (More than 20 novels) I also read a lot of Christian and Muslim books. I finally read through the Qur'an (English Translation) after years of starting and stopping. Gosh, that's the dumbest shxt ever concocted by the human brain. Honestly, I mean no offence. I just can't believe people actually accept that stuff as truth. If I was God, I would do better. I have seen better. I also read through a version of Homer's Iliad. Very long poem. |
Love800:Generally, big dogs always need a lot of space to run around and exercise. They hate being chained and caged for too long or they will be dangerous when they eventually get loose. If you are going to put a dog under chains or in a cage, make sure it always stays there. Boerboels and Shepherds (German) are strong energetic dogs that also need a lot of space to run and play around. That, or they need to be taken out everyday for a walk (on a leash though). But Boerboels need that space much more than most other dogs. |
Love800:I will choose Shepherds because they are a bit more intelligent if trained and for practical reasons too; they require less space and freedom. I can take them for a walk once every day and it's alright. On the other side though, Boerboels do better with children than Shepherds especially if they grow up together. But I do not have children, so ... |
