Fulani has held this portion of the state hostage for too long. It is close to their camp at Lokpanta and that is why they easily operate and go back to hiding.

It is unfortunate that no commensurate force has been sent against these animals to stop them

Those military at the check point are now gone and the cashews cleared up to the spiritan university.. let's hope for more good news now

N100m ransom was paid to release him and you don't think some people who have the training and equipment have not thought of it as a source of making money?
You think it is not easy to trace that N100m if some top people did not benefit from it?
Engage the herders to do the dirty work, pay them their peanuts and give them protection. Settle the necessary people at the top to retain the postings and turn a blind eye. Think deep my friend
I expected the army to carry out an extensive investigation and fish out the bad ones and penalize them. Not to quickly issue a denial like the DPO of a rural police station.
This country is completely finished if you don't know.
How else can an electoral process be so openly monetized? In a sane country all those aspirants and their delegates will be in jail.
People do all sorts of illegal things with amazing effontry because they have the backing of a higher power.
The saddest part is that the youths have refused to reason beyond their noses and have joined the bandwagon.

What else do you want to hear?

The Prelate said he was kidnapped in a vicinity where there was an army checkpoint. They were shooting sporadically and the same army didn't show up. They were also speaking Fulani language.

I repeat: what else do you want to hear?
Let them go and arrest him nah.

I just believe their time was up when they kidnapped the prelate .. kidnapping have been going on in that axis just a few metres from the army checkpoint and nobody has been captured or recorded in the news till this latest one. Most people that escaped have always said they were Fulani.... how I wished they had kidnapped a top military guy.. their business would have come to an end instantly... anytime you are passing there.. those military guys will be moping at you..I used to wonder why they were posted there..to do what?

You are right bro.

The points you raised are exactly what many people are suggesting. The vigilantee has been set up but funding is the major issue for now. It take a lot to buy patrol vans, good guns, salaries etc. But we are working on it.

Maybe with the kidnapping of this VIP ..all other big guys will know that they are not invisible. Just last week they stopped an Onitsha South bus and kidnapped few people..no body bothered... maybe it's God's way of saying their time is up with this latest kidnapping... that road used to be so peaceful

Guy, the incident happened in my village. Infact the prelate grew up in my village because that is his mother's home.

He visits there regularly, he was leaving my village to Leru junction through where they call Ndiawa. The incident happend at Ndiawa-Lomara road. That place has a huge cattle market very close to it along PH -Enugu expressway.
The kidnapping by those Fulani guys has been ongoing there for over a year now. I drove through that road on May 3rd and I was so afraid.

Funny enough there is an army check point close to their kidnap point there.

U mentioned UGM, for the records, there has never been any incident of UGM in that my village area, and that place used to be very peaceful. Those Fulani guys have been selling cows in that market for many years.

That's where we buy cow meat since time immemorial before some bad egg fulani guys joined them recently. Now there is a serious plan to close down the market because of this incident involving a prominent person.

Are you sure about the closing down of that cattle market...they should start first by shutting down the checkpoint.. those guys should find somewhere else to camp... then empower the local vigilantes with enough ammunition and good pay...then sit back and watch.. once they kill one or few of them...they will relocate to another area... the incidents are always near the spiritan university that nobody knows what they do in that school...was thinking the school would help the area to be lively

even after watching the account of a victim you still have this nonsense to type? You are surprised the story turned out this way?

let me humble you a little, you see , that area in question have been occupied by fulanis for more than a decade, that happens to be my local government, you won't see the presence of ESN or ipob ever since the struggle started.

Wether you believe or not, just know this that the Nigerian military is aiding and abetting crimes in Nigeria.

Yes oo.. everyone knows that those guys at the checkpoint are part and parcel of this but I believe someone is helping them too... people will soon leave that road for them since the government don't care to send them out from there

It's bad bro. Our Insecurity is becoming something else.

Immediately, I got the news I called a big bro who is a Methodist Priest there and he confirmed it. The other time they kidnapped people who came to write UTME at Nkwoagu there.

His Eminence went there for an Investiture and didn't wait for the Recessional Hymn before leaving. He was born and bred there: He went to Primary & Secondary there even though he is from Ihube.

The man is suppose to step down this August and that Ndiawa Road no good abeg. The three times I went there, my heart just dey beat and that's like 3 years ago. He moves with heavy Security but no-one can really tell what happened.

People no dey fear oooo..... We all hope it ends well.

The kind of prominent people you have there ehn, but nobody is talking.

Just got back from there this month... It's really scary for the people coming from nneato .it's the lomara road near spiritan university..and people are suspecting information are being passed by those at the checkpoint cos they kidnapping is always when one is coming back taking the lonely road.. there's a local vigilantes but they don't come out all the time with the limited weapons and little funding

That area is prone to kidnap by herdsmen. It has been that way for over 20 years within that Okigwe and Isuikwuato-Umunneochi axis.

This kidnapping was not on Enugu pH expressway.. it's in leru lomara nneato axis... kidnapping there just started recently cos of the thick cashews around that spiritan university.. that they run into.. funny enough there's an army checkpoint few miles away from where he was kidnapped
Politics / Re: Methodist Prelate, Samuel Uche, Regains Freedom by Cassie74: 9:48am On May 31, 2022

Herdsmen are the prime suspect because that axis to ABSU has been bedeviled with their guerrilla style of kidnap and quick release of victims once any amount of ransome is being paid. However, I won't absolve other criminal elements under the guise of unknown gunmen. Perfectly is a tip off job because he was just coming back from a distance to the point of action.

Your right about information... there's an army checkpoint just close to this kidnapping den ... sometimes the kidnappers exchanged gunshot with village vigilantes..but no helps from the soldiers

Another tip off as to why herdsmen are prime suspect is the fact that, the mostly ply their trade and to some extent inter-marry with the locals there; which gives them enough leverage to act. Nonetheless, a local must be involved in this successful operation.

My submission, though.

He was actually kidnapped and 100 million demand was made. What I can't say authoritatively now is whether the money was paid or they were saved miraculous?

I will get to know by tomorrow.

They funky part of it today for office, be say some colleagues were like someone wan recover his presidential money or them wan use am buy presidential form for him. Jokes aside, the panic was not here.

Nonetheless, the begin of their end is at the verge of it. The nation is tinting towards religious shenanigans/war especially with this elections. So many undertones.

Hahahaha those kidnappers are now getting greedy.. they kidnap anything that passes there.. even commercial vehicles.. they will pick out people they feel look rich from the bus and send the driver away with the rest
Politics / Re: Methodist Prelate, Samuel Uche, Regains Freedom by Cassie74: 9:40am On May 31, 2022

Last week was Onitsha South bus...The kidnapping wasn't done on the express way... your are safe on the expressway..there a place called leru....lomara.. Ubahu...there a spiritan university there... this is where the kidnapping goes on on a daily basis now....not the expressway. And to think there's a military post just few miles away and nothing has been done.. people should just leave the area for them since there's an alternative route though longer

If I may... before you install the solar water heater.. look for Niyi here in nairaland(satellite TV technology). If he can be kind enough to respond..he is using 300lrt solar water heater..he is going to tell you to have an alternative means or if possible do just electric only...but lastly do your research... I may do both or one (electric) at the end of the day. Cheers

May be to first of all install the central solar water heater and if it doesn't work I abandon it mount individual water heaters without re-piping?[/quote]
