A Nigerian man who lives in Guangzhou, China, Mokwuelum Ifeanyi, has shared videos of two men who committed suicide separately after allegedly losing all their money which they bet on the world cup match between Germany and Mexico. While one jumped from a building, the other jumped from a bridge. Yesterday, defending champions Germany made a disastrous start to their bid to win back-to-back World Cups with a 0-1 shock defeat by Mexico. Hirving Lozano’s strike helped Mexico beat , Germany, 1 – 0 in their Group F match at the Luzhniki Stadium on Sunday. Despite facing some sustained late pressure, Mexico held on to inflict a first World Cup defeat on Germany since they lost to Spain in the 2010 semi-final. This was also the first time a German side had lost their opening game of this tournament since 1982, when West Germany were upset by Algeria. Pictured is Janny Sikazwe, the first ever Zambian referee to officiate at the FIFA World Cup. Although Zambia has never made it to a World Cup - but this summer they have a representative in Russia. According to reports, Janny Sikazwe is widely regarded as the country's best referee and was chosen by FIFA to appear on the biggest stage of them all. The referee is set to take charge of group G match between Belgium vs Panama tomorrow at Fisht stadium in Russia. Meanwhile, controversy reigned when Sikazwe took charge of the 2016 Club World Cup Final between Real Madrid and Kashima Antlers. When Sergio Ramos brought down an opponent having already been booked, the Zambian reached for a second yellow card and called the Galacticos captain over. But he then put his hand back in his pocket and bizarrely chose not to send Ramos off. Sikazwe subsequently said the decision was down to miscommunication and as he misheard his assistant over his earpiece, thinking he had called for a card when he actually said "foul, no card". The Imo state All progressive Congress, Coalition group spokesperson, Hon Theodore Ekechi, on Wednesday escaped being hurt by unknown hoodlums, who gained entrance into his house and made away with items worth 45 million naira. Reports gathered showed that his Owerri residence located at Umuguma Housing Estate, Owerri west Local Government Area of the state, was vandalised and ransacked by the unknown men, as they made away with four (4) gold wrist watches, 20 HP laptops, archive official documents, jewelries, among other things. Narrating the ordeal to newsmen, Ekechi, said that such incident has never occurred before in his neighborhood, according to him " This has never happened since 2011 when I started living in this neighborhood, we have never had any incident of burglary". He asserted And he continued, "I'm been worried about the timing of this, considering the fact that I have been vocal about the happenings in Imo state politically, as it concerns who becomes the governor of the state come 2019. I'm also worried that when I receive calls and messages of commendation or solidarity, it has always ended by warning me to be careful about my life and also beef up my security". The APC Allied Forces Spokesman affirmed Theodore Ekechi, however said that the awful incident will not intimidate or discourage him in speaking out against the happenings in Imo state. According to reports, the deceased simply identified as Oshe was knocked down by a speeding vehicle coming from Amassoma at Ogobiri airport road. There was pandemonium in a hotel in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti state capital between a man and a commercial sex worker. According to a publicist and political critic, Sunday who posted the video of the fracas between both parties, The man allegedly slept with the lady, refused to pay her the agreed fee but allegedly stole her money instead. According to the online report, the lady later invaded the hotel with her friends and the fracas recorded in video below ensued. It took efforts from policemen at the hotel to calm the situation. Yesterday, Muslims around the world marked the end of the holy fasting month of Ramadan. One woman was not so lucky as she was killed in an avoidable unfortunate circumstance. According to a report by one Musa Ahmed, the woman was killed after being hit by a speeding vehicle on her way to the mosque for Eid prayers. Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has proclaimed Bahia, a state in Brazil as the headquarters of Yoruba nation in the Americas. The royal father made the proclamation on during a visit to the oldest temple owned by the blacks in Salvador, the headquarters of Bahia state. The royal father, alongside 17 notable royal fathers drawn across South West states and Kwara, Ifa priests, university teachers, culture promoters and newsmen, are currently on the tour of the Latin American nation. The temple called Espaco Cultural Da Barroquinha, according to Bahia state's Commissioner for African Affairs, Arany Santa, was established about 600 years ago by the African descent. She further explained that the temple used to be a Catholic church, until the blacks acquired it, and had since used it as a place of worship by the adherents of traditional African religion. From the songs rendered, mode of dressing and worship, the adherents clearly established their links to the Yoruba race and expressed their desire to further deepen their knowledge about their roots. Addressing the adherents, Ooni Ogunwusi, said before leaving Nigeria, he consulted the ancestors and prayed for successful trip, adding that signs were obvious since he came into the country that things were going to change for better for not on Responding, Christiane Taquari, Bahia state Commissioner for Culture, commended the royal father for the visit, and assured him of their readiness to obey all his admonitions and further preserve Yoruba traditions and culture. Despite the Nigeria police force stating that officers of the Special Anti- Robbery Squad (SARS) officers do not have the mandate to stop and search anyone as their job description is to tackle robbery, cattle rustling, kidnapping, violent crimes and others, the operatives were seen on operation earlier today. Some villagers were spotted undergoing spiritual "refinement" in a river in Obosi, Idemili local government of Anambra state. A Facebook user pictured the scene as it was revealed that the villagers were in the river to pay homage to the mother of the water. A man who was attacked by suspected Fulani herdsmen earlier this year - is said to be recuperating well after sustaining deep cuts on his head. The attack on Mr Augustine Mnyim, by Fulani herdsmen reportedly happened on 3rd January, 2018. After the attack, the victim had bled and laid unconscious in the bush for a whole day without help. The suspected Fulani herdsmen left him in the pool of his blood after thinking he was dead because of the severe cuts they left on him. Once the news and photos of Mr Augustine reached Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom, he immediately facilitated a treatment for Mnyim at the Wellington Clinic in Abuja. Mr Mnyim was discharged on 26th February, 2018 and has been recuperating very well. The family of Mnyim is grateful to God and Governor Samuel Ortom for saving one of them. This is very sad. A 24-year-old girl who was meant to celebrate her birthday on Saturday, June 9th - is set to be buried on her special day. The deceased identified as Miss Tahila Nwaoguwas a victim of fire tragedy and died following serious burn injuries she sustained in the mishap. The young lady would be laid to rest tomorrow in her father's compound at Umuomumu Mbieri in Mbaitoli local government Area of Imo state. May her soul rest in peace. Yesterday, President Muhammadu Buhari hosted selected youth and artistes including Kunle Afolayan, Small Doctor, MC Tagwaye, Tobi Bakre at the State House to break the fast. The attendees were reportedly given ₦2million each as ‘Thanks for Coming’. According to LeadersNG, it was revealed that the motive behind the kind gesture by the presidency because“it’s a culture to always give a handout to creative artistes and other political supporters who pay the president visit”. Many of the artistes were charged to take the message of ‘Change’ by President Muhammadu Buhari to their individual platforms as the presidency wants the artistes to use their platforms to sway young voters for the president in the coming general elections. According to trending reports, the Fulani indigenes are unhappy with the way they are being treated in Benue and Nassarawa states. In a trending video footage posted online, one of the Fulani herdsmen can be heard lamenting their present situation as he accused the police of being complicit in their ordeal because they are the minority tribe in the mentioned areas. "They now have license to kill us, kill our cows, arrest us and collect not less than N1million for bail. Over 200 young Fulani under detention & some are starving to death," - the Fulani youth cried out. This is very shameful. Nigeria’s U-20 women national team players were forced to pack themselves in a bus and lap themselves after a two hour training in Abuja. The players are in camp in the FCT preparing ahead of the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women World Cup in August in France. According to disappointing reports, world cup bound players said to be 30 in number are packed in a 14 passenger bus to and fro from their training ground for three months now. The 14 seater bus was donated in 2007 by former Ondo state governor, late Olusegun Agagu. Now, eleven years after, the bus is still in action. Football lovers and journalists are calling on the Nigeria Football Federation to acquire new buses for the women national team and save the country from the embarrassment. A seven year old girl has lost her life following a kerosene explosion which happened yesterday in Sapele area of Delta state. According to reports, the fire explosion was said to have been caused by adulterated kerosene. The girl was said to have bought kerosene from the market and as she got home, she poured the kerosene in the stove before she noticed the colour was different. She was said to have poured the kerosene in a basin, after pouring it she gave a little distance before lighting a match stick. This act generated an uncontrollable explosion which burnt the girl and wrecked havoc in the area. The girl was rushed to the hospital after the explosion with vital parts of her body burnt severely. About 18 rooms were razed down containing properties worth thousands of naira, some tenants were fast enough to rescue their household properties but others were not lucky. There was commotion after it was alleged that a mentally deranged man or man who appears to the mad - was found with about N4million at Dandaru street in Ibadan, Oyo state capital. It was also gathered that various fetish items, pictures of unidentified items were also recovered at the base of supposed mad man in a bush.
