Earlier today, it was reported that security operatives gunned down four notorious kidnappers and cultists terrorizing Eleme local government area of Rivers state and its environs. Mba Joe, the dreaded gang leader in Eleme, was killed along with his three major commanders following an operation that was conducted at a hotel in Owerri, Imo State.

Those killed are Joe Mba (aka SK or Mba boy, Teetito Frank( aka obele), Teetito Godwin( aka coachy boy) and Gift Paul.

Mba Joe, a.k.a. Mba Boy, had been on the wanted list of the Rivers state Police Command and that of Governor Nyesom Wike who placed a N20Million bounty on him among others including the late Don Wanney and his gang in his recently released security watch list.

Paramount Ruler of Egbalor, HRH Godwin Chinwi, alleged that the terror gang leader kidnapped five residents for ransom and burnt the house of another victim, Eyina Ngechu for refusing to pay N200,000 gratification over a new car the victim acquired.

The worried Egbalor monarch said, “Sometime ago, Engr. S.N. Nwafolor was adopted in the middle of the night. I was one of those who went to the banks to get N10Million to pay as ransom, but they took the money and still killed him. This time around, we are experiencing a sophisticated level of same act.

The approach now is If you don’t give me what I want, I will burn your house. You have an option, either you give me millions or your house is burnt”

Narrating how the criminal gang tried to burn his family of seven inside his three bedroom home, Eyina Ngechu said, “They broke into my wife’s shop and burnt everything inside. Then they said if I don’t open my house for them, they will burn me and my family inside. They started burning my house. From my wife’s bedroom, my room, parlour and dining, they were burning everywhere. My saving grace was the kitchen where we took cover. They had no entrance. If not for God’s grace, they would have burnt my entire family, before soldiers came to our rescue around 2am.”

Angry villagers went beserck earlier today in Ogulagha community, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta state after the community chairman was said to have died in a mysterious accident. It was gathered that the chairman's death angered the youths who attacked and burnt down houses of the opposition in the community.

According to reports, some men in army uniform from Lokoja allegedly ambushed senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye in Kogi state. The men were said to have shot at his G-wagon during the alleged attack.

The road leading to Yagba East Local Government was also blocked with a caterpillar as the people prevented the senator from entering the town for further commissioning of projects.

The attack is coming after some unidentified political thugs made their intention known through an unsigned pamphlet distributed at the naming ceremony of the child of the Lokoja administrator, Hon. Shiru Lawal, said Kogi State was a no go area for the Senator.

The pamphlet which strictlly warned the senator not to enter the state to commission projects, read thus, “Dino don’t patronize Kogi.“Stay away else, you have yourself to blame. Save yourself and remain where you are, keep off from our land.

“Dino come and reap what you sowed, you don’t respect our leaders so we don’t respect you. Respect is reciprocal. “Take what you get if you dare us expect the worse, we warn you.”

The senator himself confirmed the attack earlier today. He tweeted; I thank God for spearing my life once again. Over 20 bullets holes on my jeep. Combination of police,SARS and military. God i thank you.

Some days ago, it was reported that a vehicle veered off the highway and plunged into Ovia River at Evbonogbon, on the Edo- Ondo Boundary, on the Lagos-Benin Expressway. The corpses of four persons including a baby have been recovered from the river. The accident was said to have occurred at the Ofosu Bridge and it involved a green Toyota Sienna.

A female was said to have survived with injuries.

Edo Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr. Anthony Oko, who confirmed the incident attributed the cause to over speeding.

Oko said to the victims were taken to Ago Itunu Hospital and mortuary at Ofosu in Ondo State.

A woman was left dumbfounded after opening her shop to a shocking sight in Igbo-Ora area of Oyo state. According to reports, the woman named Mrs. Rasaq Mariam closed her shop and left a rat trap inside after being persistently disturbed by rodents.

On getting to her shop the next day, she discovered that the trap caught a rat which left her surprised as a ring was found on the dead rat's neck.

The incident was said to have caused shock among people who saw the dead rat before it was disposed as no reasonable explanation could be deduced how the ring found itself on the rat's neck.

A man has been arrested for allegedly killing his step-mother with a machete in Ogunjija village, Osun state. It was gathered that the suspect identified as Sifau Michael killed the deceased, Awulatu Sifau, out of jealousy over a piece of land.

According to Ibadan based radio station, Splash FM, the suspect was said to have been angry after his father gave a piece of land to his wife (the deceased) and her child which they have been using.

Out of jealousy and thinking that the woman outsmarted him, he vented his anger on her and butchered her gruesomely with a machete.

The incident was reported to the police as detectives were deployed to the scene of the incident where they arrested the suspect while they took the body of the deceased mother to the hospital.

Here are more pictures of soldiers who were killed after suspected Boko Haram militants overran a military base in Yobe State on Saturday.

It was reported that many Boko Haram militants dressed in military apparel and armed with sophisticated weapons got access to a military facility in Jilli, a village in Yobe State close to the border with Borno State in the fringes of Lake Chad.

Before the invasion, the base had around 750 troops manning it, adding that the facility was established to contain the movement of Boko Haram terrorists’ along the Chad Basin.

Jilli village is located 60km from Gaidam, the headquarters of Gaidam local Government of Yobe State.

A soldier who survived the attack reportedly said that the terrorists went to the military facility in fleet of military painted vehicles with camouflage colours.

“There was trench around the base, but they confidently approached the gate and we opened it thinking they were troops from Gubio. They started shooting and we engaged them before they overran us,” he said.

A Borno based consultant and humanitarian, Mallam Yusuf Gulumbo, has revealed that about 100 ladies who are working for some International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs) in the state - are pregnant and have also been infected with HIV.

According to Mallam Yusuf, the girls affected are said to be between 20-25 years old as an appeal was made to him today to use his office to prevent recruitment of unmarried ladies into the NGOs in a bid to curb the negative trend.

I received Ba Mai of Ngala or Mai tadawaye (King of Youth) of Dikwa Emirate Council on Courtesy call to my office and his Wakil, with regard to INGOs operations within Ngala soil and way forward.

I was informed about 100 ladies from 20, 25 working with INGOs in Ngala were now impregnated and HIV positive. In another development, the community leaders that through the District Head of Gamboru is requesting my humble office suspend the INGOs from recruiting these unmarried girls into their operational activities because of the exploitation going on within their various institutions.

I have been my very since my inception into this office to sanitize the system but this time around with regards to the aforementioned allegations I want your sincere advice before I forge into action. ?

A man has been apprehended after allegedly killing the four year old son of his ex-wife in Potiskum area of Yobe state. According to Hausa News platform, Rariya, the man stabbed the innocent little boy multiple times (as seen in the picture below) after he divorced his mother some days ago. The deceased was said to be his step-son...

The husband is currently in police custody and will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

A 3 -year-old girl identified as Nmachukwu Ebiowu, a pupil of The Light International School, Okoti in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State was Tuesday morning announced missing.

The girl was said to have attended the graduation ceremony in the company of her mother, Mrs Juliana Ebiowu, but was later found to have disappeared from her mother’s side where she sat.

It was gathered that the father of the girl, Jude Ebiowu, quickly rushed to the Ogbaru police division to lodge a formal complaint after attempts to find her daughter failed.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the incident, saying that the father of the girl has lodged a formal report, and that investigation has commenced.

The youths and vigilante group of Ubom Etor Street in Abak Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom state have reacted to the alleged rape of a lunatic by an electronic dealer, Benson.

According to Theink Newspaper, the youths who stormed Benson’s shop at Abak, described the allegation as false and a calculated attempt to tarnish the good image of the renowned electronic dealer.

Speaking on behalf of the youths and vigilante group, Mr. Akaninyene Essien, Mr. Donald Okon Akpan and Mr. Usen Johnson, explained that after thorough investigation, they have discovered that such incident did not take place in their street as alleged.

“We are the street boys at Ubom Etor. There is nothing that would happen in the street that we would not hear or know. You cannot stop somebody going on his own business and accuse him of raping a lunatic”, one of the youths stated.

They hinted that there was no lunatic in Ubom Etor street on the said day and wondered why somebody would rape a lunatic by 6.30pm when people were still passing.

The youths however called on anybody to come out and prove if the allegation was true..

It was reported that on that fateful day, a lorry driver, an indigene of Abak residing at Utu Abak who was offloading palm kernel, saw when the boys were attacking Benson. He came out of his lorry and asked them what was happening.

The boys replied the driver that Benson came to have sex with a lunatic.

A dramatic accident happened yesterday evening in Awka, Anambra state capital. A young girl was knocked down by a red Honda Pilot along Okpuno-Isuaniocha road in the state capital and while people gathered to rush her to the hospital for treatment, another vehicle driven by a reckless driver lost control and rammed into a tree close to the scene of the first accident.

It was gathered that the second driver lost control of his vehicle while drinking beer on steering.

The injured were later taken to the hospital.

A 300 level student of Delta State University, Abraka, has died after being involved in a fatal accident near her school. According to reports, the young lady, Success Gabrielle who was on a motorcycle was killed after being knocked down by a vehicle on Tuesday, July 10th.

The student of Business Education was killed instantly along with the motorcycle rider.

Her death happened less than one month after celebrating her birthday with friends and colleagues in style.

May her soul rest in peace.

The identity of the Nigerian man who was killed yesterday in South Africa has been revealed. The victim, Mr. Martin Ebeuzoeme from Ideato area of Imo state was assassinated on Thursday, the 12th of July 2018 at Hunter and Grafton street, Yeoville, Johannesburg South Africa about 7pm.

The man was shot in the head at a point blank rage while returning from an outing. His car key, phone and wallet were left untouched by the assassins as he had already died beside his car before people gathered to rush him to the hospital.

This is coming few days after another Nigerian man identified as Mr Ozumba Tochukwu-Lawrence, was assassinated by a gunman in South Africa. The ugly incident was said to have occurred at 10 Koppe, Middleburg, Mpumalanga, South Africa, on July 6.

An eye witness account has it that an unknown man made a way into the compound of Mr Ozumba Tochukwu-Lawrence and requested to see him.

On being told about his guest, he came out to meet him, and the man opened fire on him and shot him six times, resulting in his death before he could reach the hospital.
