Unknown thugs reportedly set the party secretariat of Imo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on fire on Friday. It was gathered that the fire only affected the internal parts of the secretariat building, which is located at the Imo State University junction in Owerri.

According to neighborhood report, they said that they noticed a white vehicle around the Secretariat after which they saw thick smoke and raised alarm.

The Orji police command was quick to respond while the Commissioner for Public Safety in company of Fire Service Men arrived and fought the fire to standstill.

Although properties worth millions of Naira were lost in the inferno which concentrated on the ground floor.

Luckily, there was heavy downpour that complimented the efforts of the fire Service men.

Men of the Nigeria police force Kwara command have arrested six confirmed cultists listed below;

1.Abolaji Safti Ojulari of Kankatu area, Ilorin.
2. Lanre Mohammed Soliu aka Askari of Ile Nda Compound, Ilorin.
3. Azeez Moyaki of Moyaki Compound, Gambari area Ilorin.
4. Suleiman Babatunde of Gambari Area, Ilorin.
5. Yusuf Habeeb of Kangile Village, Kulende, Ilorin.
6. Umar Yahaya of Kangile Village, Kulende, Ilorin.

The above suspects confessed to the killings of eleven (11) people with their accomplices within Ilorin and it's environs between 2016 and April 2018.

The suspects will soon be charged to court.

Criminal elements in the state are advised in their own interest to eschew criminal acts as the Command in its renewed vigour is super now than ever to run them out of circulation.

A High Court Sitting has granted Bail to the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu's security guard named Uchenna Kalu a.k.a 'Ojukwu', who was arrested in Afara-Ukwu Ibekwu Umuahia, at Nnamdi Kanu's residence, following the Operation Python Dance declaration last year.

The victim was arrested on the 8th Of October 2017 in Nnamdi Kanu's compound and was accused of being in possession of weapons.

Ojukwu as he is popularly known, was transferred to Abia State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID). He was secretly arraigned in Umuahia Magistrate Court, but the court denied having the jurisdiction to grant bail and a remand order was given to Umuahia Prisons for his detention.

His Bail Application was filed in High Court, upon which he was granted Bail and his freedom granted, by IPOB Legal Team. His Legal Fees and other Legal Processes was footed by IPOB Leadership.

'Ojukwu' was accorded Transportation fare, Cloth and details of his expired rent taken, for a renewal. In delight he appreciated the immense efforts of IPOB led by Citizen Nnamdi Kanu while on detention and legally working towards his release.

He showered praises on Citizen Nnamdi Kanu and vowed never to surrender towards the quest of Biafra restoration.

This is the moment the Imo state governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha was accompanied to the residence of Senator Izunaso in Owerri, following the 'missing' of the Sensitive materials for the Saturday, May 5, 2018 Ward Congresses of All Progressives Congress, APC, in the State.

The argument over who is in custody of the materials have been between the man originally posted to the State for the conduct of the Congresses Chief Ini Okorie and the organizing Secretary of the Party, Chief Osita Izunaso.

While Izunaso said he handed over the materials to Chief Okorie, the man himself said Chief Izunaso didn’t give him the materials.

And this evening when the Police took Chief Okorie to the residence of Senator Izunaso to resolve the issue of who among them has the materials, the man disappeared in Izunaso’s house.

The governor appealed to the members of the Party in the State to remain calm and avoid actions that could lead to fracas or loss of lives. He assured that the proper action will be taken.

There was pandemonium last night during the ward congress of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Anambra State, with the party’s candidate in last year’s governorship election, Dr Tony Nwoye accusing the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Senator Chris Ngige of a plot to hijack the party in the state.

The minister escaped mob attack at the APC meeting in a hotel in Awka, Anambra State. Security personnel repeatedly fired repelling shorts into the air to scare the mob who charged at him.

After being accused of trying to hijack the party, Ngige, on his part, however, said there was no problem, insisting that every effort was to ensure that APC was properly organized in the state.

At the meeting, Nwoye alleged discrepancies in the lists and accused Ngige of usurping the functions of the congress committee. According to him, it was improper for Ngige to say that ward congress held on Saturday when none took place.

Nwoye, who is a member of the House of Representatives, said he was refraining from speaking because he might be accused of being bitter over the conduct of many APC chieftains during the governorship election, which he ran and lost on the platform of the party.

Tempers rose during the harmonization of lists from the wards following allegations that few party chieftains merely compiled names from all the 326 wards in the state.

Amidst the confusion and charged atmosphere, security operatives were shooting in the air to scare those trying to attacks dignitaries.

The heavy downpour in Port-Harcourt, Rivers state capital - did more harm than good to residents today. Many motorists saw their vehicles damaged and destroyed following the rainfall after trees fell on them. A Nigerian journalist, Imani MumZoe, has shared her experience after embarking on an investigate trip to Cross River state to uncover the "Money Marriage Practice'' under the platform of Channels TV. Money Marriage is an old traditional practice synonymous with the Becheve tribes in Obanliku Local Government Area of Cross River State, South South Nigeria where an elderly man buys a little girl for a wife.

Obanliku Local Government Area is situated in Northern Cross River State, approximately eight hours drive from Calabar the State Capital to access.

According to the journalist, the traditional practice is presently ongoing in a remote part of Cross River State South South Nigeria where, young girls are being sold out for a kind of marriage known as, "The Money Marriage" and the victim, Money Woman.

The practice which is as old as tradition itself is carried out without the consent of the girl who in most cases, is sold out to clear debts owed by a family relation even before her birth.

At each of the communities visited, victims of the Money Marriage through the help of the missionary were quick to share with Channels Television their experiences as Money Women or Money wives.

The Money Woman practice according to tribes in becheve is a status thing and a show of pride as there is virtually no family in Becheve that is not without a Money Woman.

The victims are most times used to settle debts owed by her relatives and when her husband dies, his next-of-kin marries her and if the girl-wife dies without giving birth to children, her parents are obligated to bring a replacement in accordance with customary demands.

In cases where a money woman gets pregnant by another man, the husband hold claims of the children and if the woman eventually gives birth to a baby girl, she is in turn sold out to a willing buyer without her consent.

‘Money Wives’ are not allowed the right to education and in every sale, the girl’s opinion is not sought. She is the bread winner.

Victims of this marriage are sold for as low as Ten Thousand Naira, few goats and pigs, tubers of yam, depending on the man's bargain power.

The buyer determines what he does with the money woman even if he uses her for ritual purposes.

Once a girl is sold out for Money Marriage, she is considered dead by her own immediate family and warned never to return back irrespective of how she is being treated by her husband or his relatives.

A grateful wife has thanked her husband for donating part of his liver to her. The woman identified as Saboi Mundia Kalinda took to Facebook to appreciate her husband Haswell Kalindafor the gesture. The Zambian couple travelled to India last month to undergo the operation.

Saboi suffered ill-health following liver failure and was facing potential imminent death. But her husband came to the rescue and offered part of his own liver to save her life. Both husband and wife are still in India recovering from the complex operation.

Today four weeks ago, God blessed me with a gift of life through my amazing husband who donated part of his liver to save my life.

I thank my Jehovah God for what He has done for me I have learnt so much about God and about life and appreciate God in a new way through my experience.

It is amazing how God has revealed to me and my family how He works out things for our good.

Sometimes we get so hurt by the way things are happening even when we pray so hard, but God already has it figured out, even if we don't understand and it is just wonderful when in the end you realise how God was working things out for you.

Therefore I want to say to you 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.' Proverbs 3:5 and 6.

Both me and Haswell are recovering well, i am still in India and hope to be reunited with my family pretty soon.

My family and i have received so much support from so many people including my mother who has sacrificed so much for me and i don't know what i would ever do without her, my amazing transplant team at Max Super Speciality Hospital headed by Dr. Subash Gupta, family and friends, friends of friends and relatives, my wonderful in-laws, my church family at Chainama SDA church and other churches, my workmates at CEC Liquid Telecoms and various people i have never even met. Thank you for your fasting and prayers, (please continue praying), financial contributions, words of comfort and encouragement and visits.

My healing process is ongoing for a while and i continue to ask for your continued prayers. Many cows were killed in an accident which happened few days ago along the busy Abuja road in Ejule area of Kogi state. A traveler who witnessed the incident - filmed the dead cattle as their corpses where scattered all over the highway as the herdsmen tried to evacuate them.

Reports have it that the cows strayed into the busy road before a Dangote trailer crushed at least 15 in the process.

There was chaos during the All Progress Congress, APC meeting yesterday in Imo state over alleged hijack of Congress committee members. Governor Rochas Okorocha said that the result sheets for the conduct of the APC Ward Congresses in the State were hijacked/stolen as he called for the cancellation of the congress.

It was also claimed that the congress committee sent from Abuja that was suppose to conduct congress in Imo state, was moved to Anambra state.

The aggrieved faction including the governor stormed the Police state headquarters to resolve the issues with heavy security presence at the police premises.

Meanwhile, the Imo APC has released a statement saying the Ward Congress was conducted and concluded successfully and peacefully on Saturday, May 5, 2018 in the 305 wards of the state.

''The party is also grateful to the maturity and candour of the Ward Congress Committee who remained unwearied and focused in spite of the desperate efforts of the State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha to hijack the committee through blackmail, intimidation and groundswell financial inducement''.

By the outcome of the congress and the spontaneous outpouring of family love and conviviality, the party and their numerous supporters who had for long longed for extrication from the stronghold of one man and his family have been vindicated.

''We re-affirm our unalloyed loyalty to the National Working Committee and state leadership of the party. We can now assure Nigerians that Imo APC is more than ever before poised to demonstrate that APC in Imo State and indeed in the South East is a popular party which in the past has been misconstrued due to the antecedents of one man''. the statement said.

The APC leaders in Imo State who stood against the governor were seen cooling off after the congress. A motorcyclist popularly known as Okada rider who wanted to get high by taking tramadol - got more than he expected after it affected him and almost killed him in the line of duty in Delta state. According to reports, the Okada rider was carrying two ladies when he was hit by the effect of the opioid drugs as he fell down from his bike.

It was gathered that the Okada man who is an Hausa man started fighting people as they wanted to take him to the mosque.

They forced sugar into his mouth before pouring him buckets of water in a bid to wake him up and stabilize him as he almost died in the process.

The angry ex players of FC Taraba and Taraba Queen's FC both Jalingo disrupted the match on the NNL between FC Taraba and Kaduna United FC at the Jolly Nyame Stadium, Jalingo. It could be recalled that the ex players were not paid for almost two years and the Taraba state government failed to fulfill it's promises to players with the intervention of NANPF and the LMC and host of others.

Meanwhile, the National Association of Nigeria Professional Footballers NANPF has described the on-going mayhem in Taraba FC game against Kaduna United FC where protesting ex players owed outstanding salaries of several months are being teargassed and injured, as the highest form of insensitivity to the welfare and lives of Nigeria Players and administrative ineptitude by the NNL.

In the first instance the registration of the team to feature in current league season is unjustifiable, a breach of football and league rules. Unfortunately the NNL see it the other way. It came as a rude shock to the union when Taraba FC name appeared as one of the teams to participate in the Nigeria football league this season.

The Union through its general secretary called the COO to questioned the reason for registering Taraba FC but to our greatest shock, the COO responded by saying that the NNL business is to register team to play and not to get involved in disputes between players and clubs a statement which was equally confirmed by the CEO of the NNL during a chart with the Union general Secretary.

But before now the NNL had always given assurance both to the union and the players that Taraba FC will not be registered until they clear their debts . So at what point did the NNL realised its business is only to register teams to play in the league without conditions.

Further more, Having received reports from the players of their planed action to stop the match from going on, the union secretary called the COO of NNL to intervene to forestall the situation that is currently playing out. He advised the secretary to call his Chairman,. Unfortunately the Chairman did pick his calls after several attempts.

The Union therefore calls for the swift intervention of NFF to put the match on hold until the issues are resolved to avoid consequences that we cannot predict. The players Union also want the leadership of Trade Union Congress to provide the necessary support for the players at this point in time.

This is really shocking. According to multiple reports trending online, a suspected thief was forced to surrender himself to the police after the bag he allegedly stole from an old woman ''refused to come down from his head''. The suspect identified as Frank Buhet was reported to have stolen the bag which he took home but couldn't bring it down from his head.

The shocking incident happened in Tanzania.

He said, he started walking from one road to another but the load was still hanging on the head.

Reports have it that he even tried laying down on the ground but the load was still unable to remove.

After spending a long time all to no avail, he decided to surrender himself to the police so that he would not be killed by angry people when they eventually notice that he stole the bag.

Even at the police station, the stolen luggage was still on his head as he hoped the police would help him track down the old woman.

The beautiful 50-year-old businesswoman and politician, apparently couldn't contain her happiness while chilling with her daughter, Chichi to celebrate her birthday.
