favour32:A lot of the problems we have in Nigeria are down to educated ignorance. educated people who can’t or don’t think. What does any of the things you mention above have to do with INEC? Name 1 that has do with INEC. Inec cannot cure a bad people. What INEC can do is provide a fool proof system. If you decide to collect bribes to vote for a candidate how is that INEC’s problem. Like I said educated ignorance. I am a UK citizen, I have voted in the Uk my name is currently on the electoral roll. Their electoral system is very porous. It is even worse in the US where in some states you are not even allowed to ask for ID and they have mail in voting. Put NIgerians in the Uk or US and you will realize their electoral system is extremely porous! Even Putin said it a few days ago. INEC is just a part of the electoral system. Inec’s role is to ensure the integrity of the numbers they announce. That you bribed a voter is not INEC’s business! Please let’s talk like educated people. You can’t blame INEC for corruption of the citizens and politicians, the failure of the police etc. Its job is to count the votes presented before it. That the right person is the person voting and the numbers declared are accurate. It’s like WaEC or Jamb. It is what you present before it that it will mark. That your teacher is bad or you didn’t study well is not WAEC’s business. The job of an electoral commission is to ensure that only those who are eligible to vote can vote and that if 40 people vote for party A and 35 for party B, it declares the results as such. The job of an electoral commission is to ensure that if there is any sharp practice, under its own sphere of influence it can detect it and provide evidence. I can guarantee you that the IS and Uk systems cannot meet this criteria. If a politician gives a voter N10k to vote in a corner, that is outside iNEC’s area of influence or control. That is not INEc’s job! |

DeepSight:Based on what? I have a problem with people who say things like this. On what basis is it not true. You just don’t come and say it is. Ot true…..based on what , what is your own authority for your own account of events? Why does the heir to the throne leave his stafff in ife which still stands till today and goes off to Establish another Kingdom? Is he the only son, why didn’t others leave their staffs? It was Awolowo that distorted history and elevated OOni above ALaafin because ALaafin did not support AG. |

Morenikeji090:I am from the ancient royal family of ife, one of the many ooni that was exiled out of ife. (Not to Oyo). you don’t know my history more than me. There are even things I am forbidden from revealing. That Yorubas come from ife does not mean the rightful king sits in ife. That all Yorubas come from ife does not mean the pure bloodline to Oduduwa sits on the throne or isn’t a king elsewhere. Based on what I know, The Allafin is the pure lineage to Oranmiyan. Oranmiyan is the 1st ALaafin and the rightful owner of the throne in ife. there is a reason he never became King in ife but his OPA stands prominently in ife. That should tell you something. Nobody said oyo as a town is superior to Ife, I said the ALaafin is superior by lineage and authority to the OOni. Because the lineage that should have been king in ife, left to establish his kingdom in Oyo. That is almost universally accepted, the issue is why did he leave ife, why didn’t he become king and who became king instead? Based on what I have been told and based on what I read from noted academic historians. ALaafin is the superior king even though he sits in Oyo. Don’t let me start because we can even start to mention obas like the Oba of ila orangun. For example the shah of Iran is currently in exile and has been for over 40 years. If I stage a coup and overthrow the king of England today and banish William and his brother and the entire family to another kingdom say Spain , You can’t come in 1000 years and say my Future descendants are descendants of Queen Elizabeth! No the accurate story would be that the pure line to the original kings of England currently sit on a throne in Spain. In fact England is a perfect example. The current bloodline of the current British royal family are German not English. That’s why they are called Anglo saxons, they come from saxony in Germany! My family is not from the Oranmiyan line but the Ooni line so I have nothing to gain in saying the Alaafinis the superior a king even though he sits in Oyo. |
Morenikeji090:If you have anyth8ng to say say it. I can’t stand people who pretend to be knowledgeable but don’t say anything. Everybody has his own account of history, I spent about 3 days reading academic accounts and other accounts . After reading all, I am convinced by the account I described. Unless you have a new account with at is credible, I will stick to mine. Anyone who says he knows for certain the ancient history of ife is lying. Most accounts are theories based on probabilities and oral accounts The only versions we know are facts we can authenticate for example the Allafin was recognized as the paramount ruler until toppled by Awolowo. This is documented. If you have anything to say say it or run along with your pretend knowledge. |
2 things. It is illegal to do what they just described. This is part of my problem with PDP….anyhowness, impunity. Secondly if you can’t pay salaries what does it say about him as a governor? |
Racoon:When people exit a zone the teacher to student ratio goes up. When immigrants with no hope for a good life in their region flood a zone they put pressure on the system and the teacher to student ratio goes down! |
stanluiz:Guy please I told you before to try and pretend to have some brain cells left. I didn’t read your entire post. You have not presented yourself in a way worthy of reading a lengthy post. I just scanned through. I have never ever promoted okorocha. Please scan through my posts you will never see where I have ever touted him as a possible president. He is a word I cannot post or else I will be banned! That you think okorocha and obi are presidential material says a lot about you. Secondly what have love for to do with this? I do t have to love someone to vote for them. I am not marrying into his family! In any event I have always said that based on facts on ground an Ibo presidency is not likely in the next southern cycle based on the way you have played your politics. If for any reason Umahi or Soludo get the ticket I will vote for them because they are not ethnic bigots and are competent but particularly because I respect their brand of police of bridge building and alliances. Like I said I only scanned your post but I saw something about anti-Obi. Yes you are right in some sense….. because to many of us, anyone who can support Obi does not wish well for Nigeria. An Ibo man who is bold enough to speak against Obi whether or not he has personal motives is to me a good and courageous person! Please do not respond to me again. We are done here! I want to be able to see my posts on this thread and if I block you which I will if you respond again I won’t be able to. Let us agree to disagree and part ways here since we are banned from insulting each other and there is no basis for further engagement. I am getting very irritated if you respond to me i know I will insult you I am. It willing to read anymore of your posts. So please just dey your dey! I see your name on my mention and without reading I will just click your profile and block! |
Putinofrussia:Go and meet Obi for appointment. Political appointments everywhere in the world is based on your contribution to establishing the government. Why would a government reward a zone that voted 95% against it? The law says federal character. Which means the board will have SE representation. The law does not say the mD or chairman has to come from SE! Why would you reward those who didn’t work for you with juicy positions at the expense of those who did? |
Gudvibez:That is the real result of this by election. The death of PDP has been greatly exaggerated. They won’t win, though. |
Morenikeji090:ALaafin is the no1 King in Yoruba land and has always recognized as such until Awolowo demoted him and promoted the then ooni His friend Adesoji Aderemi as the paramount king. Don’t forget at this time all Nigerian kings had been technically conquered and subordinated to the colonial administration. When we gained independence, traditional rulers remain under the authority of the governor or premier. Technically they became paid administrative employees. Why did Awolowo demote the ALaafin and promote the Ooni? Politics! The then ALaafin did not support Awolowo. It was politics. Awolowo deemed traditional rulers had no business getting involved in politics or (I guess) should not go against their employer the premier. According to accounts, the ooni is not even one of 1st line descendants of Oduduwa. There are 2 accounts I have read. 1) that he is the spiritual head or the babalawo or oracle of the palace . 2). that he is the son of one or Oduduwa’s concubines. Either way The children of Oranmiyan had left to establish different kingdoms. The story is that Oranmiyan was a warrior and left for a battle or conquest and was away for a long time. ( This may have something to do with Benin) when he came back, his father a Oduduwa had died and he met the OOni on the throne, in both accounts I have read, Oranmiyan rather than contend with the very powerful spiritual powers of the OOni, he left to establish his kingdom in Oyo. That is why The ALaafin is recognized as the direct lineage to Oduduwa and the paramount stool in Yoruba land. |
Pakute:They already have it. Soludo told the senator elect to go to Abuja and align with his “progressive brothers” that you are not there to do opposition. In any event it’s not like the current senate are not already overwhelmingly pro govt whichever party they actually belong to. If anything the main opposition in the senate come from Ndume an APC man and Dickson. |
kfasian:Half a million dollars is good money whether 1986 or 2025! Your statement should have been don’t forget $500k dollars then is like $2.5-3m today! |
DeepSight:Good to see Obidients are also getting banned. I was getting banned at one time 5,6 times a day with nothing offensive in my post and I’d see offensive Obidient posts sanctioned. There is no day I have not been banned! I actually concluded it’s the work of Obidient moderators! In fact the only reason I am typing Obidient in this post is because I haven’t been banned today and I think I have spent enough time here today not to care! |

stanluiz:You are the ones who lacks English comprehension but even more problematic a depletion of grey matter. sirfemoz:I agreed with him. Read again! Please call someone who truly understand English to interprete for you. casualobserver:In my post I did not reference what Soludo said. If you have a single grey cell left you will, actually realise I was agreeing with him saying indeed he will win Anambra in 2027 but that is not the real message of this saturdays bye election. I did not agree with Soludo because I know he was politicking, neither did I make reference to Soludo or what he said because I know he can’t defeat Obi in Anambra. In the presidential elections. My point as stated was even if Obi wins in Anambra as expected, it doesn’t matter. Winning Anambra doesn’t make Obi president and losing Anambra does not stop his opponent from becoming president. Hence no one cares about Anambra results. I.e Anambra is not a battle ground for 2027. Hence my comment “nobody cares if he does” |
America must be secretly pained. They are the ones always causing insecurity so they can subjugate African countries and sell weapons. |
gr8ofnnetwork:Well said. Truth is our GDP has often been overstated in dollar terms because the dollar rate was a discounted rate not the real market rate. For instance in May 2015 the official rate was 167. The market rate was 197 so our gdp in dollars was actually $484B not $572B |
stanluiz:Perhaps next time you should stay out of People’s conversations. Perhaps you should activate the grey cells in your brain if between Kanu and Obi you have any left. The person I responded to was talking about the presidential election in 2027. Sometimes it pays to mind your business and not enter other peoples conversations without understanding the context. Hedyot |
This ukaxhwukwu man looks like a dubious character. Imagine you contest serially under APGA and you keep losing so you defect. It is when you defect that APGA wins the seat…..no he juju be that? |
favour32:1: If you don’t have football skills, youbrecruit amateurs, you don’t train, you don’t have unity in the dressing room, you don’t have pitch tactics and you are playing a team that is elite, skilled, together and prepared, 99 out of 100 matches you will lose even if the referee and VAR are impartial. 2: if you keep blaming the referee and VAR, it subconsciously excuses you from doing the work you need to do to win. When I was in the Uk 2 decades ago I realised that Jamaican immigrant males didn’t go to university and had the worst jobs in any office I worked. If you saw a black Jamo in university or a professional office job, it was more likely to be female. The males were security, cleaners, drivers etc. I later realized it was because the men had convinced themselves that would not be accepted so they didn’t apply. They settled for crime and blue collar work and convinced themselves the system was rigged against them. It is only after seeing Africans who didn’t have this complex do well that has prompted them to apply of late. 3: there is a way you will come so prepared that even the most corrupt referee and VAR can’t stop your win! 4: if you’ve been winning matches before because you were part of a great team and then think you are better than you really are, or underestimate the contribution of your teammates to your success, don’t be surprised that you move to an average team and you stop winning! For the record, INEC has one of the best electoral systems in the world. You cannot rig without leaving a trail. If there is a problem with our electoral system, you can blame the politicians and the citizens for vote buying or thee law for the time limit in election petitions, incompetent lawyers, selfish politicians who know they lost but still go to court so as to keep the hope alive in their supporters. The biggest problems are bad actors. The politicians and the electorate. Have you ever seen a politician that conceded and election and went on to win another election in Nigeria? That’s why they don’t concede even when they lose. Because you the electorate will not vote for them Next time! So they blame INEC! But if you took a forensic look at INEcs electoral process, it is almost flawless. Most of you lambasting INEC have actually never examined the election process as a systems analyst will do. Break every process and and look for possible loopholes or avenues for rigging. If you did you would realize like I said it is almost fool proof. The best security systems are designed by crooks for crooks. Our electoral system is better than that of the US and Uk |
Kalulu44:You are focusing on Anambra state. Anambra state is not the decider on where the elections will go and we all know Obi will win Anambra! The number 1 issue this election revealed is that governors are in control of their states. In f you don’t have governors. You are just a social media content creator. I listed others in a previous thread so I will not repeat them here but the number 1 is you are not becoming president without governors. I don’t care who you are! |
Pierocash:Humble is starting with $500,000 and turning it into $26B That’s like starting with N500 and turning it into N26million. It doesn’t matter where you start from or start with. In 1986 he was a trader, importer and exporter, today he is the country largest manuglfacturer! I know somebody who started as a trader around the same time who is still a trader today. That person is os preaching consumption to production! Humble is relative. He who is not faithful in the little cannot be faithful with much. |
Commentor:He can’t. At his age he has nothing else to live for. Plus he will always be encouraged by his marabouts who have told him it’s. His destiny and the sychophants dependent on the 4yr dollar rain cycle! A certain fat man who spills food when he eats comes to mind! |
See free speech people o! Tomorrow some Unxle Tom’s will be telling us “in saner climes!” |
