I have always said it that what made the opposition miss their date with destiny in 2023 is the same reason, it’s not meant to be for any of them.

Personal ambition, and it’s the same factor in 2027! Leopards can not change their spots.

Have you watched dumb and dumber? As Atiku has been watching others become president since 1999, so also Obi will watch as others become president.

I have said it many time they missed their appointment with destiny in 2023 because of no gree for anybody. That opportunity is gone and gone for good.

Obi is unelectable and Atiku is too old to be taken seriously by the North. Whoever success Tinubu in 2027 or 2031 will not be either of them.

The opportunity has gone…..why?

1) the south is already half way through its 8 years. The North is fully aware of what happened with Jonathan and will not make the mistake of voting for a fresh southerner who will get there and feels he is entitled to 8 years. The North would rather back a southerner they know for sure has only 4 years to go that take the chance of a man who is not known to be loyal and respect agreements. They would rather wait 4 years and have 8 years of peace.

2). Obi is unsellable in the core North. As it stands right now, Like it or not, accept it or not, an Ibo man cannot win the presidency without the support of the SW. The SE have not built bridges and trust to earn their votes. Learn from the politics of the SW. the SW is president today because they built bridges and earned the trust of the North. Tinubu is president today not because the SW said it is our turn, you can say it is your turn from now till kingdom come. Tinubu is president because the North said it is the turn of the south and in the south we trust the SW. so when you hear Okonkwo on tv insulting Atiku and calling him a geriatric, remmember these are the people whose votes Obi will need.

3) The only ticket than can wrestle power from Tinubu is Atiku and Obi VP but the ego (which is the same issue that caused the division in the 1st place) will not allow that to happen. You only have to listen to that actor lawyer on Channels yesterday to know that this will never happen. He swore that if Obi accepts To be VP he is done with Obi. This is the reason why the merger will not work. Obi has gone too far down the path and sees himself and indeed is now projecting himself as the de facto opposition to back down to accept the only path that can actually put him in Aso rock….as VP to Atiku.

4) PDP blame Obi for their failure. They resent him. Despite the fact that Wike worked for APC, listen to the way PDP members like Sowunmi and Reno talk affectionately and with respect and awe about Wike but are disparaging towards Obi. You think these people are ready to play second fiddle to Obi and LP? They would rather defect to APC. The insult of an Obi presidency to a PDP man is like someone taking over your family land and asking you to pay rent on it. You would rather die!!!

5) you think Atiku after 6 failed attempts will back down to back Obi who prevented him from snatching his destiny?

In the end the same issues that caused their division in 2023 will cause the failure of any merger. The problem with Atiku, Obi and Kwakwanso is that they have PDP mentality AKA “no gree for anybody” mindset. That is the fundamental difference between APC and PDP. In APC when the party says step down, you step down and work for the party. Umahi was told to step down in senate race and not only step down but become campaign manager for Akpabio. Today he man’s the most powerful ministry in Nigeria which will enhance his profile for a shot at the VP slot in 2031. APc play the long game, PDP are by their DNA short term in their thinking that is why Atiku, Obi and Kwakwanso are serial defectors.

Atiku and Obi missed their appointment with destiny in 2023. They snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. That opportunity is gone and gone for good. Umahi or Uzodima will enter Aso rock as VP in 2031 and from there……. It is not by chance that Umahi is works minister and Uzodima is chairman APC governors forum…everything APC does especially under Tinubu is deliberate. Obi missed his chance to be VP. His destiny now is as a noise maker.

obi is far less popular than he was in 23,he has lost some new converts he already won in tbe north by joining atiku in ADC,the SW is a no go area as every machinery and structure is being heavily mobilised not to have a repeat of 23......apc has made far more inroads in SE and SS than they did in 23 and are far more visible........add voter apathy into the mix as many have already resigned to the fact that 27 is already lost by the opposition.......and the big elephant in the room is that the north will never seek to replace a southerner with another southerner, thats why tinubu is more keen on stopping atiku from running.......if you dont know this then you are a neophite in politics.

Nigerian crude was trading $20 above WTI, still is. It made no sense for a domestic refinery to buy Nigerian crude. No sea conflicts between Texas and Nigeria.

If you're claiming the system can't provide top-notch talent, then take the initiative. Create a boot camp for 100 people and give them the tools to succeed. If they still fail after you've provided everything, then nobody will blame you or call you out again.

When the system is broken and you actually have the capacity to make a difference, you should fix what you can. That would be the greatest gift he could ever offer the Nigerian youth, rather than just devaluing us on a global stage.

Just imagine if all our leaders were to join hands to create a joint data boot camp and imagine the brainpower we can produce in a year? Everything isn’t about the government.

Answer the question. Your failure to answer the question is what is wrong with Nigerian graduates. Emotional not logical, running away from the issues. If the Moniepoint CEO decided to start a data boot camp for brilliant high schoolers or an intensive internship for graduates, would that really be his downfall? How much would it even cost him compared to what he makes?

Do people really think Nigerians are so slow that you’d teach a hundred students a skill and they’d all fail? If that were true, why are our people bagging first-class degrees the moment they step foot outside this country?

In developed nations, the system allows you to learn and work while schooling. Why can't the "big men" here set up that same structure instead of just complaining?

I asked you a simple question you have not answered. instead your response is typical of why employers struggle with our graduates.


I just saw a post somewhere, the employer was saying a Nigerian graduate, you will have to handhold them and correct them 15 times for a simple task and they will still not deliver what you want.

Again I asked the question, is it rational aand intelligent to expect a rotten system to produce good results? Is it a surprise that employers are rejecting them?

Why are graduates bank tellers in banks? In my day it can never happen. Bank tellers were jobs for people with “o” levels. That alone should tell you something.

I don’t need to research anything because the problem is not unique to Moniepoint. Dangote said the same thing. I experience the same thing every day in Nigeria. Moniepoint just happened to be the one who spoke up in the right platform. Ask any employer from law firms to even engineering consultancy firms & architects, you’ll be shocked how many contract some of their routine work offshore to places like Latvia, Ukraine etc and this has been going on for decades.

If you really are an educated and intelligent person, then answer this: Do you really think it is rational to expect that a country that has neglected it state education system for over 4 decades can produce quality products? Is is really a surprise that employers are saying we can knit work with these people you are churning out! That’s what we are talking about! Please answer!

Very brilliant of you. It's evident that you are exposed internationally. There's nothing as standard global wage and every top talent get the best jobs. Most times it's those without nothing to offer that that complain so much and they're not willing to learn.
In the US, you have wide income range depending on location. A 120k offer in LA can be 60k in Alabama. Even in the same location, you have to advocate for yourself. I once had an offer where some of my colleagues were making 70% of my income, they were unhappy when they found out and HR told me never to disclose my income to anyone. Any top talent can get a job anywhere in the world. Nigerians need to learn to develop themselves instead of fleeting away their time on social media.

I once had a job in the UK where I was earning 2x my boss and she had to sign my time sheets. She started at the company at 16 and worked her way up to manager..no degree etc. her skill and role as manager was easily replaceable, whereas as at the time I got the role, I was one of only 3 people in the Uk with experience on that product. I was fortunate my previous job was the pilot for that product.

By the way, you will hear all these half baked Nigerians saying Monie point is offering n200k a month salary. The picture below says otherwise.

We have normalized mediocrity in Nigeria and that’s the biggest hindrance to our development going forward. We have a population of 100m that are to all intents and purpose useless in a modern economy. If Nigeria is to move forward from here the job vacancies will be filled by foreigners.

The Nigerian economy is so warped that a qualified engineer would gladly drop their certificate to go and shout "tap tap" on TikTok if it brings in $5,000—mostly because I’m sure he isn’t even paying up to 500k a month himself. I agree with your post except the part in bold. He is doing that because he is not as qualified but most importantly as intelligent as he has been led to believe he is.

I cannot overemphasize this: your subject in university is not as important as the mental training you are expected to receive from a university, problem solving, logical reasoning etc. That is why you will often see adverts for graduate trainees and they say “any discipline”……that is what is lacking in our graduates. This is why I laugh when people say a minister of finance bust be an economist or an accountant or a minister of works mushy be an engineer etc. if you are a properly educated person, talk less a graduate except it is a field like law etc, at that level your role is management, and no matter what field you come from you should be able to get up to speed in a few months.

You hardly hear Nigerians clamoring to work for Moniepoint, despite the fact that we have countless brilliant minds who have exited this broken system and are excelling globally.

If the Moniepoint boss doesn't want to hire Nigerians, that’s his prerogative. We’ve accepted that and moved on. But going on a global stage to devalue and embarrass the average Nigerian is a massive insult.

The damage this does internationally is huge. It gives other nationalities an unfair edge over us by reinforcing negative opinions on a global scale. If he’s not ready to invest in fixing the system and building local talent, he should stay silent rather than undermining our collective reputation.

The world already knows. Nobody is discriminating against you because you are a Nigerian. Well educated Nigerians excel internationally. There are even fields where we are highly regarded. You are being looked down upon because of the university you attended and because those from those universities that were previously employed did not represent local universities well, embarrassed your university and hence your certificate. You devalued your certificates by refusing to allow successive govts to raise fees. Now you are reaping your rewards of the poor quality education you received.

He is right to say it because we have had a problem with education for over 4 decades that we have pretended doesn’t exist. If we don’t address it we can’t develop as a country.

If we are to agree with you, are you actually willing to pay the standard global wage? Or will you still demand 10 years of experience for a 250k role while their counterparts abroad are earning $3k for the exact same work?

What happened to the idea of opening a workshop to train even 15% of the workforce? If those people train others, the number of unemployable graduates would drop significantly within a decade.

Many employers seem to think Nigerians are gullible. We would much rather work remotely for $1k than beg any local employer for peanuts.

What is standard global wage? There is no such thing. If you feel as an engineering graduate in Nigeria you are entitled to the same £40,000 a Uk graduate earns, why don’t you apply for the UK job? Trust me if you were qualified they will employ you. Wages will always be a reflection of local environment plus the particular skill. What should be constant irrespective of where you are is the quality of the certificate that says you are qualified. That’s the problem! Your Nigerian certificate says you are educated in a particular course but when you are put to test, you fall short of basic standards.

In Mexico a qualified doctor fresh from medical school earns $7,000-12,000, just next door in the US he will earn $72-92,000, in Canada he will earn $43-54K. There will no difference in the standard of the American or Mexican doctor. That’s the problem with NIgeiran graduates…the quality!

I am telling you in Nigeria, there are graduates who earn upwards of N2m a month, I know of graduates in Nigeria on $100,000 pa.a and there are those who earn N70k a month minimum wage. Those well paid did not go Nigerian universities.

Nigeria has a large unemployed youth population, we are an English speaking country. Ordinarily we should be a node for call center farms. Many firms explored the idea, you know why it didn’t happen? Our basic English and IQ is actually very poor. We speak but lack comprehension and we can’t solve problems or reason logically, which is where the IQ part comes in.


I have said It many times on Nairaland about English comprehension and IQ. Most discussions on this site boil down to the absence of both. Search “casualobserver + IQ” you will get hundreds of posts. The main issue is Nigeria is comprehension and IQ. Now your employers are telling you.

I have said it many times.

1: 50% of the products of the Nigerian education system are unemployable even by Nigerian standards.
2: 95% are unemployable in a global standard environment. No multinational will ever employ them.
3: majority of our population growth I.e the so called youth are a burden, a liability rather than an asset. They are unemployable and are only useful as a market for basic commodities.
4: we’ve not realized this because we’ve not had companies invest in Nigeria for a long time.
5: I said a few months ago on Nairaland, renewed interest in Nigeria will expose the fact that the so called youth we youth as an asset are largely unemployable because they are not up to standard.
6: you only have to scroll through Nigerian social media or Nairaland to understand these are poorly educated largely low IQ people.
7. You can’t have an educational system that has been bastardized and neglected for decades and expect it has produced anything other than substandard products.

You keep opening nonsense threads. Atiku’s 1st mistake was trying to outshine his master Obasanjo. But his fatal mistake was bringing Obi into prominence by making him his running mate in 2019.

Why was it a fatal mistake?
1: because OBI did not add any additional votes from the SE than they got under Jonathan in 2015, which is the purpose of a running mate. SE would never have voted for BBugari so he had nothing to lose 3 everything to gain by selecting a running mate from another region. instead he became the man who snatched away his date with destiny in 2023 by leaving the PDP with SE votes. He is also the one that will ensure he can’t win in 2027.

That’s a lie. Obi left because he saw the party member registration figures. According to Somnia on Arise TV, more people registered to join ADC from Adamawa state than the whole of the SE. This meant that in the absence of a consensus (which he wasn’t going to get) he would lose the party primaries.

He had already been gallivanting up and down with his fellow Ibo red caps paying visits “consulting” before the court decisions. Remember he was not given a prominent position at the Ibadan summit and had to post pictures of himself playing tennis in native because he had nothing to tweet from Ibadan.

Peter Obi said he's not desperate to be president but only desperate to rescue Nigeria. That has to be built on something. We set up a manifesto committee that worked for about two to three months to develop a manifesto. You may invite His Excellency Peter Obi here and ask him, what is the ADC position on fuel subsidy? These votes represent Kwakwanso as a presidential candidate not VP and a United NNPP.

In a 3 horse race, neither Obi nor Atiku will get 25% in 25 states…..impossible! Last time they got 25% in 16 and 20 states respectively!

Which means even if they miraculously win it will go to a rerun.

Tinubu is not coming 3rd so any rerun will be between Tinubu and either Atiku or Obi.

Obi may come second because as I have always stated most of Atiku’s votes in all his elections have come from the south via PDP. When he contested outside PDP he Conley got 2.5m votes. Atiku also has a problem where Norther politicians with ambitions don’t want him to be president and will work against him.

In a rerun between Tinubu and Obi, the North will vote for Tinubu. The North will never vote for Obi.

Either way. Congratulations in advance to President Tinubu!

Of course Atiku/Obi will be a landslide. But Obi will never accept to be VP candidate. Hence my mention of Atiku/Makinde. That will still beat Tinubu, but with a lesser margin.

The problem with democracy as highlighted by your post above is that obviously unintelligent people get to vote

I prefer they all contest in ADC than jumping from party to party. Next will be Accord party, AA, PRP and other nonsense parties. It demonstrates lack of substance.

If there's no consensus in ADC, Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso, Amechi and even El Rufai should all contest.

The losers should support and back the winner. There's more respect in that than moving to NDC.

Note: I actually think an Atiku/Makinde combination will beat Tinubu by a wide margin, if all opposition parties can come together.

The nation need a change.

Nobody Dan defeat Tinubu in 2027. The best combination is Atiku/obi and they will lose. Makinde can’t deliver Oyo state, he has no pull anywhere else in the south.

The delusion that he actually thinks he can be president of Nigeria.

The US does not give free money. It is either going to destabilize your country or extract your resources in return.

ADC primaries is on the 21st. Which means they must have submitted their party register on the 30th April. This means obi and Kwakwanso cannot contest in any other party apart from ADC.

In this life there are opportunities that present only once. You screw it up and you may spend the rest of your life trying to recreate or chasing after that opportunity but it is gone.

The situation the opposition had in 2023 was one of those one time opportunities.

To have 14.7m votes and lose to an incumbent with 8.7m because you couldn’t come together is unforgivable, even God won’t give you a second chance.
