omooba969:Which people are my people? Where have you ever seen me praise him? |
Okwyjesus:Everyday for the thief, one day for the owner! You don’t pay ground rent for 40 yrs doesn’t make it legal. One day owner of ground rent seizes your house and you cry victimization. VDM is a high profile personality who has stepped on toes, you don’t make it easy for your enemies to get you by committing an illegal act! |
004gist:Dangote will not employ a driver without a driving license. You clearly don’t know how companies of that size operate. The problem is that a license in NIGERIA IS meaningless. Learn to construct a debate with intellect! |
ddippset:Connect the logic behind that for me, I want to check something. Because a man gave more money to charity that his wife’s watch means what? 1: I stole money, I gave more money to charity than my wife’s watch 2: I didn’t steal money, I gave more money to charity than my wife’s watch What is the relevance? Is the issue that he has money or that contrary to his prudent image his wife leads a very materialistic and flamboyant life. Please make it make sense |
Clearly he doesn’t know what he is doing is illegal.....and a criminal offesne! and he is endangering road users by putting speed bumps on a highway! |
OKOATA:Oga please go and sit down! We are not children! |
I am a British born Uk citizen, I lived there for 2 decades. It is indeed a miserable country. I Will never return to live there. In fact I can’t stay there more than a week before I want to get out. Uk is only good for 2 things. 1) things work 2) visit to unwind in summer. Besides that it is truly a miserable place! |
I have said it elsewhere that yes we know Nigerian women are unfaithful but I am beginning to think this is a marketing ploy by DNA test centers. |
AMINDA:Tell us something we don’t know! Have you ever heard any supporter of the government tell you Wike is not crooked? Even Wike himself when asked by Seun “are you corrupt?”, answered “I have not been convicted”. The problem with you people is you paint people like Obi as messiahs when we all know he is as corrupt or even worse than them. You people lack credibility. You will never hear me say Tinubub is clean, Wike is clean etc. what you will hear is me saying they have track records of performance, etc. But you go around saying crooks like Obi are clean when you know deep down he is not. This is why you are a laughing stock and nobody takes you seriously! We all know he is part of the crooked system but unlike people like Wike, he has no record of performance. Should we show you the $100,000 watch and $20,000 bag your messiah’s wife is rocking while he tells you he has only 1 shoe from marks and Spencer? Or is the house he bought in Ikeja under his company’s name? Should we show the video again where Dan Ulasi said Obi is one of the biggest property owners in Nigeria and that he hides them under his company Next? We are not saying and have never said they are saints or denied they have skeletons. To us we know our politics is such that it Attracts certain types so all we want is people who can perform. If you want to criticize any of them, we applaud your and we will keep quiet. But we will not keep quiet when you accuse them of corruption and then you present another or even worse epitome of corruption as the messiah! Ko le work! We will keep telling you, you backed the wrong man!

Imagine US talking about human rights! These people are shameless! Somebody tell Uncle Sam those days are gone o! We no send you anymore! |
frankputer:There has to be a policy framework that guides where and how you can collect citizens data, minimum standards for where it can be stored (minimum levels of protection) and who and the requirements for how it can be passed on to 3rd parties and for what purpose. Do And for those 3rd parties there must also be guidelines. For anyone worth his salt in the IT industry these are basics. Again the buck stops at the ministry of ICT. Is there a DATA policy document, is there effective monitoring and compliance? Has there any sensitization to the public on how to protect their data and red flags when visiting sites and giving them your data? Because I don’t know how a government data storage or even any organization can sanction its data being accessed by a third party with a blank terms and conditions on its website if there is as govt policy and they have been given training across govt agencies. Did they not vet the website of their partner? |
My Northern brethren, is high time we embark on aggressive internal revenue generation.
The irony is that the north is the richest part of Nigeria. The only thing they lack is infrastucture and good leadership. We are seeing encouraging changes though in Niger, kaduna and Nassarawa. I can’t believe many people put Borno governor on a pedestal! |
SmartPolician:Why are you people so devoid of critical thinking abilities? I didn’t bother reading the rest of your post because your opening sentence clearly set the tone of passing the buck and excuses. He is the minister for ICT. IT and Data protection policy is under his domain. Many years ago, I physically went to pay some money into someone’s account. On getting there my phone died. I was in shock that the bank teller not only retrieved the account number for me but actually turned the screen towards me to verify it was the right person, with all the persons personal details staring at me. Anyone who has lived abroad or claims to be an IT professional knows this is a no-no! Yet it is ubiquitous in Nigeria. It’s the first thing I would have addresses as a minister because it is a low hanging fruit with little expenditure. Anyone who is a professional IT practitioner knows that is one of the most bastardized aspects of IT in Nigeria and should have been addressed as a matter of priority . It didn’t take Tunji Ojo 6 months to solve passports issues. All that is required is a policy document for God’s sake! He doesn’t need 2 years to develop a data protection policy for the country. He doesn’t need to write one from scratch. All he has to do is use the many templates already in existence and modify for local environment. It won’t even cost his ministry any money all he has to do is produce a policy document saying this is the country’s policy document on handling and protecting user data for any organization that collects citizen’s data! always making excuses, that’s why you are destined to be reside permanently in opposition! Wike is not making excuses, neither are Umahi or Pate or Tunji Ojo. If you are competent and are resourceful we will feel or see your impact. As someone familiar with the terrain, even before this story came out, I have always felt He is an unmitigated disappointment if not a disaster as a minister. Forget about whether he is opposition or not. As a tech savvy youth, as a supposed IT professional his performance is disgraceful! |
JackDaAlienz:Check your settings to make sure your apps they aren’t automatically updating or refreshing. It doesn’t take much to download 1GB if you have many Apps or OS updating to latest version without you knowing. For instance Apple iOS updates alone is about 1GB. Delete unnecessary apps and Set updates to “manual” or “notify before updating” Also when watching videos, don’t choose the highest resolution if you are data conscious. |
“Saint” obi hiding all his properties under next and his brother’s names. Ikeja property bought while he was a governor in his company’s name. |
Data privacy is a fundamental issue Bosun Tijani should have addressed. He w as making noise in opposition, they gave him ministerial job, what exactly is he doing as a minister? When they list the top performing ministers, nobody mentions his name. Opposition, youths, he is your rep in this govt.. what has he done as a minister in his area of expertise? |
mrksquare:Below is a statement from the chairman of LP in Lagos. Criticizing Obi for co fusing supporters for supporting candidates in LO and ADC. You people are not serious. You people are not different. If anything you are worse! If you don’t want to read the whole thing you can skip to the emboldened part. “Reflections on the Labour Party's Challenges: A Call for Peter Obi to Pause and Ponder By Pst Dr Mrs Dayo Ekong, State Chairman, Labour Party, Lagos State As the State Chairman of the Labour Party in Lagos State, I have watched with growing concern the internal dynamics and external perceptions plaguing our great party. The Labour Party, once a beacon of hope for the masses, is now grappling with issues that threaten its unity and relevance in Nigeria's political landscape. Chief among these is the meddlesome role and evidently waning influence of our former presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi. While I respect his contributions and the passion he ignited in 2023, it is time for a candid conversation. Mr. Obi must recognize the grace that propelled him in the last election cycle—a divine and collective favor from the party and the electorate—and reflect on how his recent actions are eroding that very foundation. Let us rewind to 2023. Peter Obi enjoyed an extraordinary wave of support, not just from the Labour Party's structures but from a broad coalition of Nigerians yearning for change. Despite the controversies surrounding the election results, where many believe he was robbed of victory, his outing was undeniably successful. He garnered millions of votes, particularly from the youth and disillusioned voters, because the party rallied behind him, and the electorate saw him as a fresh alternative to the status quo. This grace was a combination of factors: the party's platform, grassroots mobilization, and a genuine public desire for integrity in leadership. It was this synergy that allowed him to shine brightly, even in defeat. However, fast-forward to today, and the narrative has shifted. Peter Obi's influence in the Nigerian polity appears to be waning, as Nigerians grow increasingly tired and wary of what some perceive as inconsistent antics and political maneuvering. His interventions, once seen as principled, now risk being viewed as disruptive and self-serving, alienating allies and diminishing his appeal. This is not mere speculation; it is evident in recent electoral outcomes where his endorsements have failed to deliver victories, signaling a loss of the magnetic pull he once commanded. Take the 2024 Edo State governorship election as a prime example. Amid internal party tensions, Peter Obi chose to campaign vigorously for Olumide Akpata, pitching his tent against the preferences of the National Working Committee led by Julius Abure, who wanted to adhere to the political leanings of zoning which the Edo electorate tilted towards, but because of his issues with Abure he stood firm behind Akpata. While Akpata was the official Labour Party candidate, Obi's involvement highlighted factional rifts, with his support seemingly at odds with key party figures. The result? Akpata lost woefully to the APC's Monday Okpebholo, securing only a fraction of the votes despite Obi's rallies and endorsements in Benin and beyond. This defeat in Edo, a state where Labour had shown promise, underscores how Obi's influence no longer guarantees electoral success. Similarly, in the 2023 Imo State gubernatorial election, Obi threw his weight behind Senator Athan Achonu, the Labour Party's candidate. Achonu, backed by Obi's visibility and campaign efforts, was positioned as a strong contender against the incumbent, Hope Uzodimma. Yet, the outcome was another resounding loss, with Achonu failing to unseat the APC governor in a landslide defeat. These back-to-back failures in Imo and Edo raise questions about the effectiveness of Obi's political strategy and whether his touch still carries the transformative power it did in 2023. The most telling blow came recently in the Anambra State by-elections, particularly in Onitsha—Peter Obi's own backyard and supposed stronghold. Here, we witnessed his sudden switch of allegiance, embodying the "Labour today, ADC tomorrow" shenanigans that have confused supporters and diluted party loyalty. Just before the polls, Obi abandoned the Labour Party candidate and endorsed Justina Azuka of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), even donning an ADC-branded cap during campaigns for the Onitsha North 1 State Constituency seat. The result was dismal: ADC garnered only 1,909 votes, while the Labour Party fared even worse, effectively rendering both parties irrelevant in the contest. Meanwhile, APGA—the party Obi once governed under before defecting to PDP and then Labour—emerged victorious with 7,774 votes, without needing his support. Governor Chukwuma Soludo aptly noted that this outcome signals the "death" of ADC and Labour in Anambra, a stark mockery of Obi's diminished clout in his home turf. These patterns are not isolated; they point to a broader trend of waning influence. Public sentiment, as reflected in recent discussions, suggests that Nigerians are fatigued by Obi's frequent shifts and perceived acrimony toward the Labour Party structures that once elevated him. A wise politician like Peter Obi, known for his prudence and vision, has suddenly lost so much appeal—even in his backyard. The threads of his political legacy are unraveling slowly but surely, undone by decisions that prioritize personal alliances over party cohesion. It is in this spirit that I advise Mr. Obi to take a step back and reflect deeply. He should honestly ask himself some tough questions: Does he still enjoy that grace upon his head—the divine favor and public trust that fueled his 2023 surge? Why did the parties he aligned with in Anambra, like ADC, falter so badly, while APGA triumphed without him? Is his ongoing acrimony against the Labour Party's leadership helping or hindering the movement he claims to champion? An old adage says that " A sheep that feels safe in the hands of the shepherd will eventually be slaughtered by it". Peter Obi has surrounded himself with those who he feels has his best interest at heart, but time will surely tell. We all openly admonished Wike for his PDP/APC antics but turn a blind eye to Peter obis LP/ADC antics, the electorate is watching all these and slowly making up their minds against 2027. The Labour Party remains committed to the ideals of equity, justice, and progress for all Nigerians. But for us to thrive, we need leaders who prioritize the collective over individual whims.”

AMINDA:Opposition parties are undermined by their own incompetence and residual impunity. How do you hold a convention without NEC? Is is Tinubu that told them to hold a convention that wasn’t declared by NEC? Tommorow a court will rule against any decision made. Is it Tinubu that called the convention? Is there no one in the party that knows the procedure for calling a convention? Like Tinubu has said it is not his job to help them. So long as the opposition continue to blame the ruling party for their woes they will not take the right steps to fix their mess. Nigerian opposition parties do not need external influence to implode. They are quite adept at doing that for themselves. When are Supporters of opposition parties going to call their leaders to order over their incompetence? So long as opposition supporters continue to make excuses and divert blame, your leaders won’t do the right thing for you their supporters? They are forming coalitions up and down are they thinking of you? If they were thinking of you they would stay in one place and sacrifice their ambition for unity. But what do you as an opposition supporter do? You parrot their excuses! I will remind you all that you had 14.7m votes but because of the selfishness and ego of your leaders the man with 8.7m is president. So if you like continue to blame the ruling party and continue to excuse the gross incompetence and impunity of your opposition leaders instead of putting their feet to the fire and holding them to account. If I were an opposition member I would be leading a campaign amongst all opposing supporter groups to demand, in fact I would tell them to their faces enough is enough! Sort out your egos and the mess or count us out as supporters. I would tell them you have 3 months to select a flag bearer. Primaries is just a formality. We have agreeable amongst all supporter groups that Whoever loses out will not be voted for if he defects to another party. Instead you are here passing the buck, parroting their excuses and making it easy for them to continue the incompetence! It seems as if you dont know who you are up against in 2027! Nonsense People! All of you! Plus leaders plus supporters whoever opposition party you are in! This is the 1st true politician that has become president of Nigeria and you think you can unseat him with the apparatus of state with infighting ego incompetence and shifting blame? Even if he was destabilizing the opposition so what? Is that an excuse for you to be incompetence and not get your house in order and not get the basics right? |
DoctorStanley:Like i said comment on things within your pay grade. China did not retaliate at that point because it was comical and a joke.... just like my engaging you any further is a joke! At 125% all trade between USA and China was effectively halted, raising it any higher made no difference! China simply ignored trump's childish tantics! We are not talking about africa magic or BB naija here! stick to your areas of competence like what happened in the Big brother house That you have to consult Ai shows you dont even know where to go for info!
|
DoctorStanley:China retaliated. if there is one country you cant bully iut is China, that is why they are growing and dominating. They are the epitone of a nation with self respect. it was TACO trump that backed down not China. You cant bully or dictate to China! USA banned Nvidia H20 chips exports to China, when they realised they were losing sales and China was developing its own, USA removed the ban. China responded by telling its companies not to purchase Nvidia chips despite USA removing the ban! speak about things you understand! a nation whose citizens lack self respect will go nowhere!
|
DoctorStanley:Inferiority complex dey worry you! |
richiemcgold:The guy is a one term governor. He can’t contest again by law so he has no incentive! |
IGBOSON1:It was God’s way of summarizing his claims for you. I.e complete nonsense! |
The headline says steps to keep a business legally active. The only relevant step is no 6. 1-5 are about incorporating the business legally. God save us from our journalists |
So wait mossad has been operating in Nigeria since 1998 and it is now you decide to raise the alarm? |
Nigerian opposition do not need external forces to weaken them. Don’t forget they are the ones who had 14m votes but decided to split up. Nigerian opposition don’t know how to be an opposition. They are not democrats, they are remnants of the Army and it’s civilian partners used to operating in power by orders from above but still trying to function that way in opposition. I have said this many times, focusing on the ruling party instead of admonishing the opposition for their incompetence, impunity, penchance for infighting, greed ego and other missteps and not getting their act together just makes life easier for the APC. |
