whatever happens in d future, history will always remind us on that day that free men fought again operation and slavery, few stood against many. every biafran family lost a person at least. their sacrifices will never go in vein. yes we lost the war but the struggle is still on going. someday we shall sing a victory song and raise a flag of freedom. the sun will surely rise in d east, The land of my birth. May the Lord keeps me alive and healthy to witness that great. |
Afamed:No, the Constitution never said so. the deputy can only take over if his death happens after swearing in. in this case, the speaker of the state house of Assembly will take over on acting capacity until a new election is conducted. |
maybe he swore not to see his opponent took oat of office. what if he had won that election? he would have created constitutional crisis in Bauchi state. |
Zamfara: S/Court nullifies APC’s votes, declares parties with second highest votes as winners By Eseohe Ebhota-Akoma |Published Date May 24, 2019 9:58 AM Twitter Facebook WhatsApp Telegram The Supreme Court has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) had no candidates in the 2019 general elections in Zamfara state. The five-member panel of justices, in a unanimous judgment on Friday, held that the party in the state failed to conduct primaries in accordance with the party rules. ADVERTISEMENT In the lead judgment by Justice Paul Adamu Galinji, the apex court held that all votes cast for the APC as “wasted votes” and declared that all political parties with the second highest votes in the elections and the required spread, are elected to the various elections. The panel also awarded cost of N10m against APC in favour of the Kabiru Marafa faction of the APC and other respondents in the appeal. ADVERTISEMENT The justices sounded a note of warning to politicians against destroying the country’s democracy. Detail later… Dear Esteemed reader, |
no doubt there are many beautiful communities in igbo land. I also implore you to visit a place called Obazu mbieri in mbaitoli LGA imo state. the community is use to be calling OBZ London. there are many jewels in d east and d good thing about all these developments is that they were done by d ppl with no input by d govt. igbo land is d only place in d world where pple contribute money and tar their roads, build hospitals, schools etc. when enemy mocks us by saying Igbos will not rule Nigeria, I laugh bcoz they never know our strength, it is d people and not d govt. Ndi a amaghi ka anyi gi kwado! |
Ihutomi:"more bad than the rest" look at the kind of English ur writing. u must be a product of one of those almajiri schools Jonathan built in osun state. why do skull miners always think that Igbos are competing with them? face ur region and leave Igbos alone. even if Igbos don't rule Nigeria for 1000 years, they will still be d most successful ethnic group in Africa. |
casualties of war! if wars are fought by politicians, the world would have known peace. the politicians formulate the laws that brings war and conflicts and then send the children of the poor, soldiers to fight and die. even when their kids are in military, they are are in d office beside AC enjoying themselves. Nigeria doesn't worth dying for. |
one of the greatest problem of black Africa was their inability to develop writing very early enough. The black man would have documented so many things about themselves. as for oral history it gets corrupted at a point especially when politics is involved. I have stopped believing oral history this days for a reason. even in my village some pple of recent are trying to change our historic origin bcoz of kingship. as an Igbo man, I Know what AFA( igba AFA) represents. it's a spiritual way of knowing the truth. for me Afa is an oracle. it give answers to questions and reveal hidden secrets. |
ur wasting ur time. imo pple know how to deal with an unperforming governor. if u doubt me, ask ikiri. Imo state will never accept any excuse for failure. No one expect Emeka to do magic. everyone knows that d task ahead is difficult but if u think u can apply Buhari style of blaming d past govt for his failure, will never work in imo. Imo state has an educated population. they know when a leader is doing well or not. let Emeka put his acts together for we will not accept anything but good leadership. simple |
well, this is just ur opinion. but I believe u do not know the way of peace, for if u do, u will not be calling for peace in an atmosphere of injustice. calling for yoruba presidency in2023 with Igbo support is not just stupid but madness. anyone calling for peace should support Igbo presidency 2023. u said Igbos do not care about presidency. How did u arrive at that? the truth is Igbos are very much interested in it but what we are saying is with or without it, igbos will move forward. for ur information come 2023, PDP is presenting an igbo candidate for that position, I am not sure of APC bcoz of their ethnic inclination. pls take note that the only peace achievable in an atmosphere of injustice is The Peace of The Graveyard |

Nigerian Igbos Run the Largest Business Incubation System in the world – TED Video Ndubuisi Ekekwe 5 months ago It is not news that Nigerian Igbos run one of the oldest venture capital industries in the world. It is also not breaking news that Igbos have one of the most advanced business incubation systems in the world. And these things happen without anyone thinking about them. A kinsman is a merchant – he goes to China and imports containers. When I talk to him about bank supports, he laughs: “Bro, we have better banks without CBN wahala”, he reminds me. Simply, under the Igbo apprenticeship system, the strength and measure of a man is based on how he has made those that worked under him better. In some villages in Ohafia (Abia State), you cannot speak in the village square if your “boys” are not progressing. In some communities in Arochukwu (Abia State), before elders can permit you to talk, you must begin by naming sons you made men. Alaba market (Lagos State, Nigeria) In my practice, I have worked with some moguls and observed reverence. Yes, you have made money more than your master. But till grave, he remains a demi-god to you. That is why a boy who did not enter university can run the largest (indigenous) car manufacturing company in Africa. That is why if another closes his fuel depot, Nigeria will experience fuel scarcity within days – but that guy dropped out in JS2. I have asked the Nigerian government to work on the formalization of the Igbo apprenticeship system. We have a great system, and certainly do not need to invent many new things. Interestingly, in this TED Talk, that Igbo apprenticeship, using Alaba market, was celebrated The Igboland incubation system does not take equity. It does not require raising huge capital. It is driven by human-platform and it works. Nigeria needs to deepen this system even as we celebrate the modern forms of incubation. If government can find human-platforms to work with the youth, we can comfortably fix unemployment. With minor checks and balances, we will provide opportunities to young people. The TED video expands that message (I could not upload the TED video because of copyright issues. But if you click, you will listen to the audio). The speaker used the Alaba market as a case study. Update: I have just tracked the video (embedded below on this post) on TED. This is the transcript of the section to focus. So the interesting thing is that this mutual aid economy still exists, and we can find examples of it in the strangest places. So, this is Alaba International Market. It’s the largest electronics market in West Africa. It’s 10,000 merchants, they do about four billion dollars of turnover every year. And they say they are ardent apostles of Adam Smith: competition is great, we’re all in it individually, government doesn’t help us. But the interesting reality is that when I asked further, that’s not what grew the market at all. There’s a behind-the-scenes principle that enables this market to grow. And they do claim — you know, this is an interesting juxtaposition of the King James Bible and “How To Sell Yourself.” That’s what they say is their message. But in reality, this market is governed by a sharing principle. Every merchant, when you ask them, “How did you get started in global trade?” they say, “Well, when my master settled me.” And when I finally got it into my head to ask, “What is this ‘settling?'” it turns out that when you’ve done your apprenticeship with someone you work for, they are required — required — to set you up in business. That means paying your rent for two or three years and giving you a cash infusion so you can go out in the world and start trading. That’s locally generated venture capital. Right? And I can say with almost certainty that the Igbo apprenticeship system that governs Alaba International Market is the largest business incubator platform in the world. This is the video I made before connecting the original TED, trying to avoid copyright issues from the portion someone sent me. The Nnewi has a tradition there also, as shared by an indigene here. An interesting take, Ndubuisi. But as an indigene of Nnewi, I will argue that government should actually not get involved or in anyway interfere in the Nnewi apprentice model. It has worked for decades and we really do not need government to come tell us how to run it. If it’s not broken don’t fix it, they say. Innoson, Cocharis, Ibeto, Chikason, Ekenedilichukwu, are all from our great city of Nnewi. None of these may ventured anywhere near the gates of a secondary school, some didn’t even finish primary school, but control multi billion dollar empires. It’s starts with an apprentice system where a master takes a young boy of about 10 years, the boy serves his master for about 7 years. At the end of the 7 years, the master settles the boy with some capital. Most times depending on their relationship, the boy remains in the master’s house even though he is now free, eats there and sleeps there for the next 2 years or so, to save money. In addition to the capital, the master also extends credit facilities to the boy and gives him goods on credit to sell. The interesting thing is that nothing is in writing, it’s all done on trust and credibility. The boy’s family would usually come together and meet with the master at the commencement of the arrangement. And at the end of the apprentice period, the master will also bring the boy home and settle him in the presence of his family. Government can not replicate that. They can only complicate it. ChristianNorth:this is about justice not tribe. GTB shortchanged innoson and he called for justice and got one. Igbos don't defend evil. |
The truth is political appointments favour only those appointed and their families. The only thing that will favour d masses is good governance. it will benefit all irrespective of tribe and religion. But it's unfortunate that d masses have chosen slavery above freedom from poverty. If u make greedy politicians like Rochas, Tinubu, Amaechi, Akpabio, Elrufai , Bode George etc, president of Nigerian, poverty and crime will continue to increase in d society. these so call political elites are only good in playing politics. they care nothing about good governance and economic development. it's disheartening to say that d masses are ignorant and there is nothing to suggest that they will improve. |
Curlieweed:it's either u don't understand what governance is all about or ur smart by half. Ihedioha talked about transition committee and setting up a bureau to look into the problem of teachers but u claimed that pple form committee when they are bereft of idea. let me remind u that governance is not a one man show. ur kind is like okorocha that claimed to know everything and as such need no advice but at d end his ignorance was exposed. on d issue of not trusting politicians, I don't trust them too but for now u have no reason to condemn ihedioha except ur one of those supporters of uche nwosu or hope uzodinma. if u truly love d state, all u owe it is prayer for success and work hard to contribute ur quoter to her development. |
this is exactly what u did to ohakim. If the incoming governor suspect any suspicious financial transaction going on right now, he should frustrate it by all means. okorocha needs not be trusted. |
Corrinthians:u talk too much, always in a hurry to comment on Igbo related topic but at every point you proved urself to be a cretin. I are an empty vessel.u make the loudest noice. if u don't leave ignore matter, it will choke u to death. Get it into that ur coconut head, Igbos have no regret voting against buhari and if another opportunity comes we will do d same. even if buhari rules for a million times, there will be no almajiri in the east. ur people will be worse off at the end of it. we have been surviving without govt and we will continue to do so. No matter how hungry an elephant is, it can never be as small as a goat. |
some of you with little or no brain will come here and write nonsense. u have a very poor thinking to have spewed such nonsense. pls change ur prayer topic and ask for wisdom and understanding. that is, if u believe in God |
He did make a point but it's not that easy. The home-coming is a journey and not an event. it will take some times. Igbo cities are gradually growing and are accommodating big business especially Aba, Nnewi, onitsha, owerri etc. before now big enterprises like innoson, Ibeto petrochemical and the rest of them wouldn't have been possible in the east. we thrive more when there is challenges. it's good that they keep fighting us out there as a reminder that we must build our home. To be honest, we are really trying in this direction. our villages are turning into Urban centres while cities are expanding. we excel more when there is challenges. we give glory to the chukwu-okike-abiama, he is the one that is strengthen us Shalom |
DZTech:u got it wrong. Igbos never copied that method from any body. it is indigenous to them. it's called igbo apprenticeship system. it's a unique economic model. even the ancient igbo iron smelters, potters etc used the same model. such model makes it possible for children of the poor to get training without paying money. payment is in terms of number of years of service to the master b4 freedom. choscaris motors, innoson, ibeto, etc went through that process. it is a practical training system.lets me stop here |
is anyone surprise? don't u know the relationship between witches and broom? little wonder the country is suffering. look at witches all over Nigeria, they are very poor. |
In my opinion, let's not argue on this matter. let's devise a new strategy called "false hope" let us make them believe that they are strong in South East and south south. for me this is the best strategy. it will make them relax and allow normal election to take place and by the time they wake up by Sunday morning, it will be over. At this Time, silence is golden. let's allow our finger to do the talking on the 'D-Day'. |
i don't believe the account by SARs. maybe, I said maybe they are the hoodlums that stole the card reader initially. everyone in rivers state knows who controls SARS operatives in the state. the plan was to look for a way to rig with the card-readers but as soon as they realized that the election has been postponed, they quickly dumped on that very bush |
stanliwise:let's agree then that Leadership is the problem then we can talk about how to change the leadership. logically ur quote above didn't exonerate the leaders but only suggested that the masses can change the bad leadership which I concur |
u made some good points but u failed to understand the real cause of the problem u were talking about. let me give u an illustration. some years ago, the govt of kaduna state conducted a taste for secondary school teachers in the state and more than 80% of them failed the test. will u now blame the students for failing waec, even when their teachers can't pass same? how will the teaming almajiri in Kano understand governance when they are denied of good education. the leaders deliberately put the masses on the part of ignorance by denying true education ( ability to reason and make good choice when face with multiple options). So my friend the problem remains lack of leadership. a leader shows direction and u can't show direction when u don't know where u are going ( vision). The masses u are blaming are on the receiving end. what should a hungry man do when banana is dangle before him in exchange for vote? should the same be said to a man that can afford the banana? this issue is like talking about insecurity and lack of opportunities. Lack of opportunity breeds insecurity and insecurity in turn worsen the situation. |
highcollide:sophisticated fools |
ManirBK:do u reason at all? how can one govt borrow $30billion at a go? this govt is trying to wreck this country economically. such money is better spend on power, refinery and other more important infrastructure. |
but is there anything in the content to show that Prince donated the money for Buhari re-election? The caption is deceiptful. from the content, the Money was for Govt Umahi re-election and other state related stuff. why are people so bothered about where Igbo vote will go? let no one trouble himself when the time comes, each person will determine where S/he will cast his ballot. to be honest with u, 95% of Igbo have already decided on whom to vote. Buhari and Atiku will be judged fairly by the good people from the East. Igbos vote by perception and not by what one king or Elite says. interact with taxi drivers, bus drivers, market men & women, civil servants, u will understand where there votes lie. no need to over flog the matter. |
WHEN I READ THINGS LIKE THIS IT REMIND ME OF WHAT AWOLOWO SAID SOMETIME AGO THAT NIGERAIA IS NOT A NATION BUT A GEOGRAPHYCAL AREA. I STRONGLY AGREED TO THAT.
