Nexia says, you must take your test @ d center designated against your name. I tried to alter mine but no way. I even sent someone to their Abuja Office, who then clled me from their office and I spoke through his fone, with the Head, Nexia. @Storm007: Many thanks pal.

I've just spoken to d MD Nexia. He says the choice of venue is a factor of what we selected at the time of application. And, it's too late for a change now. Its sad that a lot of people setup all sorts of agencies in Nigeria just to corner jobs from their lackeys and cronies in govt, without correspon
ding capacity to deliver on the job. What on earth is difficult in letting someone take exams @ d centre of closest proximity to someone, in this age and time?

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Update On Firs Recruitment by celemel(m): 6:56pm On Dec 23, 2009
@ ITSMAYIELA: Appointments to fed govt MDA's are based on the principle of Federal Character. All the slots are spread evenly among the 36+1 states of the federation. So, if more people from your state are shortlisted, the odds are more against you than say, Taraba State (purely a hypothetical analysis with no ill-motives meant here) where just 3 persons may come from. If the agency is to absorb 3 persons per state, then the 3 from Taraba would automatically be picked, no matter how poorly they performed in subsequent interviews. Conversely, if 10 persons were able to meet the minimum cut-off from say Akwa Ibom (charity begins at home jo!), the best 3 out of the pack would scale through. In all therefore, after the first stage of elimination (general), the competition boils down to individual states' indigenes, fighting among themselves to outdo one another to clinch the few alloted slots. That is the dilemma of the Federal Character principle. Its the reason you find extremely stupid person from one section of the country in strategic positions of authority against very brilliant ones from another part trying to play catch up. It sounds stupid but that is it! Thats they way we flow in Naija!
Car Talk / Re: Identifying The Year Of Your Vehicle by celemel(m): 1:59pm On Dec 22, 2009
The 10th digit of my VIN is 0, followed by F. Its a BMW 320i, 1993 model, but nothing seems to gel with this new formula. Help, brothers help.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Update On Firs Recruitment by celemel(m): 11:56am On Dec 22, 2009
@JACKSPARROW: Your information sounds very authentic, reason being that the NDIC recruitment took the same pattern. The NDIC shortlist was sent to FCC in November. Some persons who were successful were subsequently contacted by FCC and told to prepare for the final interview. They've been waiting for that since. I see a similarity in the FIRS. And, since the last recruitment by CBN that generated a lot of bad-blood btw CBN and FCC, I guess every other govt. agency now follows this procedure for recruitment. Lets hope and pray. Ques sera, sera!!

It was advertized in Punch. They also had flyers. And, it was on the homepage of gloworld.com. The website was taken down for 2 days after the crash of BiiiG Dash. The site had since been restored with everything BiiG Dash, removed. I guess, it was a marketing stunt that went heywire! Gloooooooooooo, without pride!

Travel / Re: Beautiful Calabar In Pictures by celemel(m): 1:31pm On Dec 13, 2009
Am surprised a lot of people still ask questions here about Calabar. This town is the most wow town in Nigeria. I live here and simply can't let go of the place even when I no longer work in Calabar. The pictures up are real, except for the WHAT TO EXPECT part. I guess the poster copied the Demo pixs by Six Planets to put up. The Theme Park isn't yet on the ground. I've howvere seen pixs of the Cable Car @ Obudu Ranch, Tinapa Resort, Tinapa Water Park, Welcome to Calabar, the 'noiseless streets' (devoid of the Okada menace!) and the serenity of our Canaan Land. I implore all and sundry to come home to Calabar and experience peace. There's no place like it in NIgeria. I bet!

Phones / Re: Glo Free Calls Wat A Shame by celemel(m): 8:14am On Dec 05, 2009
I forgot to add. As with everything new and exciting in Nigeria, a lot of people would take advantage of the product to make calls and hang unto their handsets forever, at this initial stage. (Just as it was when free midnight calls started). This would definitely congest the network and cause delays and dropped calls. With time however, we shall get used to it, run out of conversation and just make calls that are necessary. I see the present congestion as part of the teething problems that Glo, I guess, had already factored into the plan before rollout. They would ease very soon, (I pray) and we shall be home and dry, and continue to RULE OUR WORLD, WITH PRIDE! (Haba, for the 1st time, am speaking good of Glo, hahahaaa, they've earned my respect, , finally!!!)

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Exxonmobil Trainee It Professional : Test by celemel(m): 8:21pm On Dec 04, 2009
Source of my info? Well, I wrote mine on Dec 3, 2009. (yesterday). The test is conducted by SHL, USA. I bet,you can't finish half the numerical test questions in 2x the time alloted. Each part is alloted 20 mins. NO calculators are allowed!
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Exxonmobil Trainee It Professional : Test by celemel(m): 9:51am On Dec 04, 2009
Calculators are NOT allowed. U use only HB pencil. The test is tasking, challenging and very interesting. Time is very short. Its 3 parts: Verbal, Numerical and Abstract. No skills-related questions. And, the numerical are all based on statistical analysis of graphs, charts and polygons. Goodluck!
