Christianity EtcRe: Brotherhood Of The Cross And Star by celemel(m): 6:42pm On May 01, 2009
@perkolisis
Thanks for your efforts to enlighten d "blind" in the house.  It beats my imagination each time I read stuff from people who punch their keyboards even b4 they think!  For decades now, so many 'illinformed' so-called "christians" have tried severally to impugn, malign, defame, desecrate, abuse and drag the name of Olumba Olumba Obu in the mud without success.  So many books, tapes and false-testinomies have been bandied about by people across the world just to stop the wondrous works that God has been doing through this man to his elect, without any success.  The world would never change.  AS it were in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end.

There's information I'd like to share here.
1. Olumba Olumba Obu has never claimed that he is God
2. Brotherhood of the Cross and Star is the organization that God Himself passed through Leader Olumba Olumba Obu to raise here on earth towards fulfilling that end-time promise that at the appointed time, He (Christ) shall return to lead His people to the accurate knowledge of the truth.
3. Olumba preaches love for one another, tolerance, holiness, faith, chastity, peace, joy, forgiveness, mercy, compassion, sinlessness, hope and righteousness.  He lives by these divine principles and his followers strive to be like him.  These principles are universal to most religions but because the canal nature of man drives him to perptually think about 'himself' alone, we deviate from these principles hence, we have wars, diseases, thugery, struggle for power, search for miracles, pestilence, striving after the wind, fornication, adultery, etc forces weighing us down.  Olumba is seen to be very 'strong' and a 'witch' because he has risen above the canal level of everyday man, has kept God's commandments and thus, God in Him, can do mighty great things once he prays to God through Jesus Christ our Lord and savior, who shed His blood on the cross for the redemption of man's sins.   This knowledge would never be revealed to those who don't truly seek the truth.  And since mankind has tried to investigate the source of his "powres" without success, they tar him with the brush of falsehood and lies.

For the people on this forum who passed judgement on the man, I'd most humbly request that they first look into their lives and supplicate unto God to take care of their problems before they cast aspersions on others'.  Judgement is of the Lord's, (so says the Bible) Whether Olumba is a witch, a necromancer, a native doctor, Christ, Melchizedek or Judas should be left for God to decide.  Most of you on this forum belong to various terrible organizations.  80% of students that have graduated from the Nigerian University System within the last 10 years have belonged to one cult group or another (where a lot of human blood were shed), yet you are the ones throwing out inuendos and aspersions on the person of Olumba Olumba Obu who 99.9% of you don't know!

Lastly, I'd ask this question now:  Amongst all that posted comments on this thread, should Jesus Christ come now (from the clouds as many of you expect) , who amongst you would he look in the eye and say "come with me into my kingdom, for you are my real true son/daughter coz u kept my commandments?". How many of you have tried to practicalize 10% of his injunctions as contained in the Bible?  How many christians out there are ready to recieve Him?  How many christians of today, would recognize christ and honour him if he comes back?  These are issues that should bother our hearts and consciences, not the origin of a man who even I, know very little about.  Those who have ears, let them hear what the holy spirit tells the church. Amen.

Why Yar'adua Was Stuck in Saudi Arabia.

SaharaReporters, New York

Sources in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where Umaru Yar'adua and his close family members have been in the last two weeks have described a web of deception regarding Mr. Yar’adua’s condition. Two highly connected sources told SaharaReporters that, contrary to publications in the local Nigerian media, Yar'adua was yet to undergo kidney transplant in Saudi Arabia. They added that barring a sharp decline in his condition, Yar’adua may return to Nigeria by mid-week.

The sources revealed that Yar'adua has been staying in a private house in Jeddah after his discharge from intensive care. At the residence, he is being attended by a Saudi-based Nigerian woman who is regarded as the most powerful foreign-born marabout in Saudi Arabia. At the same time, he has undergone a series of intensive tests conducted by nephrological specialists to determine a proper kidney donor for him.

SaharaReporters was first to report a series of events leading to the prolonged disappearance of Yar'adua from Nigeria. Officials of the federal government initially denied our reports, but later kept mute about Yar'adua's whereabouts even as governance ground to a halt in Abuja.

The sequence of events shows that there was a direct connection between changes in the top military hierarchy and Yar'adua’s two-week hiatus from Abuja that led to an embarrassing cancellation of a state visit to Brazil. Brazilian officials have confidentially told SaharaReporters that Yar'adua's visit is unlikely to be rescheduled anytime soon.

Yar'adua had travelled to Jeddah with his wife, Turai, one of his daughters, his aide de camp (ADC) and Chief Security Officer (CSO), two German doctors and two pilots from the presidential aviation pool.

Our sources said that, once in Saudi Arabia, Yar’adua began consulting the female marabout who had visited Kano two months ago. Our sources said that Yar'adua had met secretly with the Saudi-based spiritualist during her visit to Kano.

Our sources disclosed that Yar'adua believes that he could be miraculously cured of his Churg Strauss Syndrome having received a similar "healing" in 2000 after his German doctors had recommended kidney transplant for him. They said Yar’adua, once out of a seven-day stay in intensive care, has been “going through bouts of spiritual healing presided over by the spiritualist.”

Our sources indicated that, as Yar'adua prepared to travel to Saudi Arabia to meet with the marabout, he collapsed several times in Abuja. In panic, his family and inner circle decided to invite two German doctors to manage his condition until he could be flown to Germany. However, his closest aides advised against returning him to Germany, citing security reasons. They feared that Yar’adua’s third trip to Germany on health related grounds could trigger serious security alarm and create widespread anxiety about his ability to continue to govern Nigeria.

His closest aides decided that he should use the lesser hajj or ummra as a ruse to fly to Saudi Arabia to visit nephrologists at the Saudi German Hospital in Jeddah, where a kidney said to match his type 90% was made ready.

When Yar'adua arrived Saudi Arabia, he was advised to seek a second opinion from the top nephrologists in Saudi Arabia and Germany working in a Jeddah-based Saudi government owned hospital. After running a battery of tests, the team of doctors concluded that the kidney meant for the replacement was likely to suffer tissue rejection from him. They advised that tests be conducted on his close relatives to find alternative donors. His wife and daughter were tested, and his wife proved compatible, according to our sources. She was, however, unwilling to donate an organ in Saudi Arabia; she instead opted for it to be done in Germany. Her condition would mean that Yar'adua would spend a prolonged period of time in Germany to recuperate. To avoid that politically risky gamble, it was decided that his blood brother, a certain Major Audu Yar'adua of the Nigerian Army, be flown in for organ compatibility test.

Orders were issued to release a Gulfstream G-V aircraft to fly Major Audu Yar'adua to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. SaharaReporters cannot confirm the report that Major Yar’adua underwent a series of tests conducted today (Monday September 1, 2008) in the Saudi German Hospital at Jeddah.

Yar'adua's current sojourn in Saudi Arabia has revealed some disturbing trends in his regime. A minister in his government told Saharareporters that cabinet members as well as “Vice President” Goodluck Jonathan are sidelined in the government. “The power show is run by Yar'adua and his close-knit political and familial associates mostly from his home state of Katsina,” said the minister.

Also revealed is the critical role his younger brother in the military, Major Audu Yar'adua, has played in giving Yar'adua unusual confidence to ride roughshod on the people in Nigeria with regard to governance and a prolonged absence from his seat without any serious effort to tell the Nigerian people about his health condition.

Sources within the military said Yar’adua’s younger brother was the architect of the recent overhaul of military chiefs announced prior to Yar’adua’s departure to Saudi Arabia. Our sources said Major Yar’adua handpicked the commander of the brigade of guards at the Aso Rock villa and Yar'adua's Chief Security officer (CSO) Tilde, the Aide De Camp, Colonel Abdul as well as the current chief of army staff, Major General Dambauzu. “He single-handledly reshuffled the service chiefs, trust me,” said one source. “Audu is Nigeria’s new Mustapha,” he added, referring to the late General Abacha's once powerful and brash chief security officer known for ordering around senior military officers during the dictator's reign of terror.

Another striking similarity between Yar'adua and Abacha is their shared belief in the power of marabouts and spiritualized practices. In Yar'adua's case, his associates who spoke to SaharaReporters said his troubled life of prolonged mental and physical illness pushed him into the hands of marabouts.

One source who knew Yar'adua from his secondary school days said he once drank excessively and smoked weed (marijuana) during his youthful years. He still secretly smokes cigarettes.

A family photo of him published by SaharaReporters where he was holding his daughter at his wife’s graduation tells a bit of his mental state, according to one of his childhood friends. He told SaharaReporters that “it is unusual for a normal core Northerner to wear a T-shirt to his wife’s graduation in the 70's.”

The friend said Yar'adua once broke down mentally but sought help and found cure from one Alhaji Momodu Maijara, a marabout from Niger Republic, who cured him with a combination of horse whips, prayers and herbs.

One source told SaharaReporters that Alhaji Maijara frequently occupies Houses “5” and “7” in the Aso Rock Villa. Another marabout—one of several—also lives in House "8" at the villa. Another group of marabout imams live in the Defense House. The Defence House has a reputation for housing the “addictions” of Aso Rock occupants.

During the Obasanjo presidency, the "Defense House" housed a mobile harem of females who serviced Obasanjo’s legendary sexual appetite with Otunba Oyewole Fasawe coordinating the women until he and Obasanjo fell apart over former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Our sources revealed that Shehu Inuwa Imam, a member of the House of Representatives representing Faskari/Kankara Sabuwa constituency, now coordinates the marabouts on behalf of Yar'adua. Shehu Imam was formerly the chairman of Faskari Local government area of Katsina State and later the chairman of the Katsina State Universal Basic Education Board. Some of the marabouts are kept in secret houses all over Abuja. Our sources said Mr. Imam, Mrs. Turai Yar’adua and her husband would drive out to see them at night. Another group of marabouts is maintained by Alhaji Dahiru Barau Mangal, described by one source as “Nigeria's most powerful cross-border criminal.” Alhaji Mangal is a smuggler and Yar'adua's richest moneybag.

If Yar'adua returns on Wednesday as planned, he will be welcomed by his associates as a "hale and hearty" returnee from Ummra or lesser hajj. “His hand’s off attitude to governance has allowed some of his ministers and aides to do as they wish in looting the national treasury unsupervised,” said one source, which is knowledgeable about the political goings-on.

A source in Abuja said Yar’adua’s arrogance in lying about his health crisis owes to the fact that his younger brother has helped him to cow and decimate any elements in the military that might challenge his regime. “Besides, the opposition is flatfooted and thoroughly in disarray, the labour movement is comatose, and the media too compromised to even report that the man was sick in the first place. It will be business as usual until Yar'adua departs Nigeria for another medical trip disguised as a headache.”

If he dies nko? Who will live forever? That is what OBJ and his 'gang' in the PDP wished us all. God will visit His judgement on all the vampires that stoke our collective sensibilities and continue to drag us down the path of infamy. They will account for their deeds. If not now, later; if not in this world, surely in the great beyond. Nigeria is blessed by God with so much resources. Our self-imposed rulers have continued to treat us with contempt. God is on the throne. He is watching! If what we've got from OBJ and the PDP is the proper result from our hard-won democracy, they (all of them) will go scot free, but IF we are reaping sadness, poverty, unemployment, decayed health centres, poorly funded schools, etc from them, then 'we' Nigerians shall have the last laugh. All impostors who steal the people's vote and thrust themselves on our psyche' shall someday go down the path of infamy. Someone say AMEN!

They are fooling themselves. UMY has been ill for about a month now. H was stretchered to the German hospice in Saudi Arabia, though John Odey and other 'gang' members told us 'fools' that he is on lesser hajj! How come Umoru is the only one on this particular hajj? And y does it take him 2 weeks to return? A country that is run on lies and deception cannot xpect to get redemption from the almighty, until its leaders change their ways.

Nigeria has no single functional President. Since UMY is critically ill, all the ministers, govs and NA members have constituted themselves into small 'Presidents' in their individual spheres. The reason we now have 'President Oaoandoka', President John Odey, President Liyel Imoke, President Chibuike Amaechi, President David Mark, President Bankole, President Parry Osayande, President Waziri, and so many others.

Poor Goodluck. Yaradua couln't even trust him enough to hand over to him while away, nursing his failing organ(s). In the next life, UMY would learn and know that 'smokers are liable to die young' even if they are Presidents!

Shame on OBJ.

Let me set the records. I do not know whether or not Akon and Faze had any issues. I was just lucky to be in the VIP lounge of the Margaret Ekpo Airport on the 30th of Dec, 2007 when Akon and Faze ran into themselves at the airport. Akon was departing Calabar via his chartered private aircraft (which night-stopped in d tarmac and stayed since 29th evening for Akon who performed same nite) while Faze came in via Aero. The next moment, people we scampering everywhere, looking for someone with a videocam so that they could record an interview together. A cameraman was sourced from town and brought, and the interview started. I activated my Nokia N95 and recorded same, as well as taking some shots with them. Then, Akon departed. The cameraman then proceeded to replay the clip and unfortunately, there was no audio. It drove Faze very mad, but Akon was already gone. I then happened to be the only person with a complete clip. Faze tried to copy from me, but couldn't. cheesy His boy came over to my hotel room and tried to get it for free, but I told him No! Thats the story.

As I said, I never knew what had been said in the media about both of them. I could only glean from the speech that came from Akon. As a business man, I cannot load te clip into nairaland coz its a marketable commodity. I shall return to post more pictures I took that day in a few minutes

Arik, Virgin Nigeria and Aero ply the Lagos-Calabar-Lagos route. The fare ranges from N10,000 to N15,000 (one-way) depending on the airline. Aero charges N12,500.  Hotels range from the 4-star Metrpolitan (the most expensive with lowest rate of N34,000 per night), to smaller hotels that u can get executive double for as low as N13,500 per night.  Transport within town is available through car-hire.  A typical 12 hour car-hire can be got for N25,000. You may alternatively use the public commuter system (buses and taxis that pick and drop) or the ever-popular Okada. (Mind you, okadas in Calabar are organized. They operate with helmets for passangers and are generally polite in their dealings with people)  If you intend to visit the ranch at Obudu, that is a different kettle of fish altogether.  You may need to go by road (very tedious as Obudu is 5 hrs from Calabar by road) or fly from the Margaret Ekpo Airport Calabar to the Bebbi Airstrip near the ranch. One way costs N10,000.  Accomodation at the ranch is a bit expensive.  The minimum being N12,000 single-room.  But, there are hotels within the periphery of the ranch that one can check-in for as low as N7000/night.  The cable car at the ranch charges a return fare of N1500.  I hope you can do the estimate by yourself.

Ribadu: The symbol of what is wrong
By Ezekiel Ette

THE recent uneasiness that has been expressed in the Nigerian media over the removal of the EFCC chair Mr. Nuhu Ribadu has confirmed what many people already know about Nigeria namely: that we are a nation that pays attention to individuals and not one that seeks a lasting legacy in the establishment of traditions. Such culture of personality politics is the reason we have a messiah mentality in the country. We seem to look for someone that will come and cure all our evils, sanitising the society and building a new highway that leads to freedom and prosperity.

We seek the noble and unspoiled individual that will not be tainted by the corruption and decadence of the society that we have created. Ours is a yearning for the good men and women who will not be corrupted and snared by the wealth around them or the easy route available to them to take the public resources. In pursuit of this elusive dream we have managed to put up with men with little training for governance and have accepted the promises of tyrants in uniforms. But as Aristotle said thousands of years ago, government exists to regulate the affairs of the society making it possible for the citizens to pursue their dreams.

No society can regulate the affairs of its citizen if such regulation is based solely on the charismatic qualities and leadership qualities of a single individual. Nations are assumed to be a long lasting entity while individuals live for a shorter time. Thus, no matter the leadership skills of an individual, such skills cannot outlive the leader. What will endure are policies that are codified and put into practice. As these policies are practised and refined they become traditions and form part of the political culture of a nation. Such cultures become known making it possible for anyone to fit into positions without disrupting the fabric of the society. Humans pass away, but political cultures endure and outlast the individual.

Let us for a moment return to the Ribadu case. He was appointed by former President Olusegun Obasanjo to lead the anti-corruption crusade (for lack of a better word). Though some people initially responded with skepticism to the whole idea. Mr. Ribadu has made a believer out of many by his fearless dedication to his duties and has gone against some in high positions. Because of our messiah mentality, some people saw him as the one that was to bring the much needed change and some are upset at the thought of his leaving the post.

Mr. Ribadu has now been seen as a colossus with magical powers to turn the society around. Instead of looking for ways to make that office an effective one, we have decided to ask for Mr. Ribadu to be institutionalised. Instead of making laws and developing policies that would make the EFCC a force for good in our society we have resorted to our messiah mentality assuming wrongly, as always, that there are non-corrupt individuals capable of saving us.

The fact remains that as the governing apparatus are in Nigeria now, nobody can be corrupted. The legislature is in no hurry to make changes and the financial system is still the way the British introduced it in the 19th century, making it impossible to establish a money trail. The law enforcement arm of the government is so antiquated that life and property are not secured. The central government alone claims the right to have a police force in a federal system leaving the states and local governments as toothless bull dogs with the powers of the government not felt in the villages. No state or local government has a prison. The governors are virtually lords and kings in their states as fiefdoms pushing cash and handing them out for patronages.

The legislature has a big role to play in changing our society and in establishing a lasting political culture. The Freedom of Information Act must be passed and strengthened to allow openness and for easy access to information. The police and penal systems must be decentralised to make Nigeria a truly federal system where power is shared between the entities. The idea of using cash for government transactions must stop and a practice must be put in place to allow investigators to establish a paper trail and follow the money.

The legislature must also make tougher laws against corruption. A system of reporting abuse and corruption must be put in place. Those who are caught enriching themselves must be punished severely including prison time and forfeiture of their assets. Transparency laws are needed in all tiers of government including open meeting laws where meetings are advertised and made open for citizens to attend. Laws must be enforced and the police equipped and trained to enforce the laws of the land.

We have developed the messiah mentality because in our indigenous ways, we have grown to see the village chiefs administer the villages based on what a few individual thought. In the 21st century, times have changed and if we want to join other nations, we must put certain structures in place that allow us to build the society that we want. Whether Ribadu stays or goes is not the problem. No one individual is indispensable. What is the problem is the lack of structures capable of being developed into a political culture, structures that can make our society strong. While we applaud and thank Mr. Ribadu for his service, we should not think others cannot do the same job if given the tools by our legislatures. The EFCC needs the power to subpoena, to investigate, and to have its agents paid well enough to resist bribery, above all they must not be made a part of the Nigeria Police where the President and the Inspector General have the last say. It needs a budget directly from the legislature not tied to the executive. This can truly make them an independent watchdog. We need to begin thinking not in terms of individuals but in policies and practices that will outlive us and serve our children well when we are gone.

There are two parts to the story, if u read between d lines.  My lawyer handles my own personal affairs (and I cannot discuss it here on the forum because that would be subjudice).  Then, there is massive pilfering and siphoning of money using several fronts within the organization. This is perpetrated by the so-called private-partner (expartraite organization) in collusion with our own brothers and sisters.  Mind u, the water board is a public utility organization funded by govt through international loans.  This leg of the matter is a financial crime against the state, not me.  So, the agency of state that has d responsibility to investigate such crimes and prosecute offenders is the EFCC among others.  As a patriot and a stakeholder in the Nigerian project (at least, I pay N13000 income tax monthly), I guess I have a duty to expose and report any crime against the state wherever I see one, and the agency that gets such a report must act on it.  There lies my case.  Please make out time to read my posts on this thread so that you may be guided as I don't intend to keep repeating the story.    We all must be up in arms to fight this corrption battle.  There's a drop of RIBADU in every man/woman.

No gate fees were paid.  The carnival has started to attract corporate sponsors.  I am just a resident in Calabar.  I had the fun while it lasted.  The only caveat is that, you must make your arrangements in time enough to be sure of a secure accomodation in town during the carnival as every hotel space is normally fully booked one-month to the carnival.  As I said earlier, I took all those pics by myself. The one with me, Akon and faze was taken at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport, Calabar when Akon was about to leave, and Faze just zoomed into town. (Akon played on dec 29 and Faze played on dec. 30) They met at the airport, and Akon and Faze tried to arrange a joint press-conference to clear the air about their planned collaboration for an album.  I was just lucky to be there, and I joined in the photo session.  Akon reaasured that he can't leave Faze, as both of them have become brothers and friends.  I took a lot of shots, and recorded an interview clip with Faze and Akon but they are patented already. I'm waitng for newspaper, tv and radio houses to contact me for the full clip.  Its for sale.  After all, its a matter of cash!  grin

I guess most persons didnt take time to read through my first 2 posts on the thread, else they would understand the point. I never wanted EFCC to fight for me; if I did, I'd have accepted the attempts of the organization to offer me bribe and walk away after all, I had nothing to lose. My point is, a petition was sent to EFCC to probe the activities of an organization. An operative was detailed to come, he then was induced with money to stall the investigation, and the matter died. Thats simple. The EFCC has been compromised from within. It needs cleansing, Simple!

@Linuxuser,
I hate to talk personally. Inasmuch as we all have the right to ventilate our views on a forum such as this, I find it completely irresponsible that you could use such vitriolic oozes of venom to attack my person simply because we hold different opinions about the same subject - corruption. It amounts to descending to intellectual gutter if I should respond by calling you names too. If you have a contrary opinion to mine, bring it up and lets look at the merit or otherwise of your point. I shall not in anyway be dragged into any unnecessary empty arguements here on the matter of EFCC and the Nigerian nation. We all have a stake in Nigeria. No man has the benefit of dictating what viewpoint I should hold or what I shouldn't talk about. I pose the following salient questions to you.
1. What happened to the petition sent by Orji Ozor Kalu (a corrupt politician) to the EFCC over the N200million naira he personally handed to OBJ for the PDP campaign in 1999?
2. What has been the reaction of the EFCC to the multi-billion Naira Presidential Library fraud perpetrated by OBJ during his time in office?
3. What is the outcome of EFCC's investigations into the Bells university scandal with respect to OBJ?
4. Where did Nuhu Ribadu raise the money he used in acquiring the properties he has in Abuja?
5. What happened to the PTDF investigation? Who was indicted? Who was given a clean bill of health?
6. What happened in the petroleum ministry under OBJ?
7. What happened to the Olabode George embezzlement investigation?
8. Where is the petition in respect of the Cross River State Water Board Limited?
9. What happened to the Andy Uba money-for-farm-tools saga?
10. What happened to the investigation into the third-term money-for-votes saga?

There are many questions begging for answers. Institutions are not built around individuals lest, they collapse. EFCC is made of many staff who toil day and night to prosecute the anti-corrption war, and many others who labour to make plenty of money from the war. We cannot equate EFCC with NUHU RIBADU and vice cersa. Ok?

@CoolKaboom,
thanks for your words of encouragement.  I am waitng for the festivities of xmas and new year to end.  I'll never relent on this course until all persons connected, are brought to book.  Its been several months already, but justice is sweet when served cold.  I guess, with the reorganization going on in the EFCC, the matter would soon be ressurected.

I said it in my earlier post.  EFCC is a very corrupt organization.  My petition to the EFCC over a misdemeanour at the Cross River State Water Board Limited developed wings and flew from the coffers of the EFCC till this day. Every effort to trace it has met with brick walls erected from within.  I know of at least 2 operatives of the agency who have acquired exotic properties in real estate, luxury automobiles etc, and who's means could not have legitimately paid for such assets.  There is a big racket in the EFCC, and let me explain how that racket works.  When a petition is sent to EFCC, members of the racket (who are stationed in different departments) intercept the petition, open same, check the contents and make effort to contact whomsoever is accused in the letter.  They then proceed to contact the accused person or organization, lay the letter before him (them) and ask for his 'cooperation' so that the matter is settled 'amicably'.  If the accused has the muscle, the racket gets paid, and the matter is swept under the carpet.  The racket also promises to shield the 'accused' from any further action.  Members would then open their eyes to watch and intercept any more petitions that may come as a result of the 'settled' issue.  It happened to me!  https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-99610.0.html  Only matters that can be sustained by media razzmatazz gets treated and properly investigated.  And, it is not cheap to sustain a long media campaign against a corrupt person unless, you can afford to pay for such campaign, to keep the issue on the national front burner.

Institutions cannot function properly when they are built around individuals.  Let Ribadu go.  I guess there are so many other Ribadu's out there in the country.  No one person should be elevated to a point where he feels, he is untouchable.  The EFCC needs proper cleansing because it is corrupt; very deeply corrupt.
