TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 18 by cesil26: 9:28pm On Oct 07, 2025
Thank you so much for this, I share same thoughts with you

It's completely impossible to bar Student's who can adequately finance their studies and stay in the USA

Efetobore1980:
Your friend is spreading unreasonable lies and he can be prosecuted if he continues to post unofficial visa policy on social media.

▪︎1 His first lie is that no USA visa officer will tell you the reason for visa denial verbally. They always give you 214B denial slip which contain no specific reason for denial. Any USA embassy staffs who does that verbally will face prosecution.

▪︎2 His second lie is that does it sound reasonable to you that, all F1- visa applicants from all the countries of the world should get fundings from less than 6,000 Universities in the United States or the United States government Agency, where will they generate the money from ? Tell your friend that the yearly budget of United States cannot cover all f1 students tuitions from China, India and Africa talk less to include other countries of the world.

▪︎3. Lets assume that you are the popular Mr Aliko Dangote or the popular music star DAVIDO and needed to do STEM-MBA just to update your profile and you have a billion naira in your account as POF. will they deny you f1 visa because you did not have school or Government funding ?

4. Lastly, ask your friend that , will all applicants from anywhere in the world who is able to secure school or Government agency scholarahips get automatic f1 visa ? Or is there no history every year, where some full funded Msc and phd visa applicant's got f1 visa applications denied ?

■ Distance yourself from such information, and continue with your application if you can sponsor yourself. The only F1-visa applicants who needs compulsory fundings from 75% above are PhD applicants.

Good day

My friend had his Visa denied on Friday, 5th October 2025, according to him he said the VO said the policy has changed and it's strictly applied to, one must have Funding or Scholarship.... i.e, Funding from a US university or Government Agency

Now he is on the search for funding from US Uni or Government Agency or for a Scholarship

And I asked what if I have the funds to sponsor myself..? According to him that won't fly according to the policy change

This has got me so worried.

Has anyone been denied on this grounds?

Accept the Civil Defense Job, aside the monthly salary you may still get to see money half of your salary, close to your salary, same as your salary or more than your salary every month from Special Duties, Beats or location.

You will gain wide exposure (travel exposure inclusive) on the course of working.

There is room for promotion but be rest assured you have to apply for study leave, get approval for it and go back to the University, apply for conversion so you can be able to get to level 8

NDSMELODY:
Good morning friends, pls I need your candid advice.

I am a graduate of elect/elect engineering, graduated 2021 and completed my nysc august last year. Upon my nysc completion last year, I couldn't get a job till now so I settled to manage as a class teacher and my salary is 40k per month. Ever since then I have been trying to apply for any vacancy available either government or non government organization, so I applied for ndlea I was shortlisted for the cbt exam, I wrote the exam but wasn't shortlisted for the next stage, I also applied for frsc, I wasn't shortlisted at all, I applied for ncdc (civil defense) though I saw it clearly the minimum requirement is SSCE I just have to try it because I cannot withstand the pressure of unemployment, I was shortlisted for cbt exam , I wrote the exam on may 18. Now the list for physical screening is out , I am shortlisted again, my worry now is that SHOULD I ACCEPT THIS CIVIL DEFENSE JOB OFFER as a graduate or not ?? Pls advice me
I will clock 30yrs by September and I don't really like the teaching job I am doing currently but I do not have alternative..also how much is there salary, does the work worth it ?...and also what are the benefits of the work, can I further my studies when it is time ?......

I am sorry for the long epistle, I am some how curious and contemplating....thanks.

When they have finished the 3 months basic training which was compulsory for all intakes and those who came late due to replacement and a general POP was done.

Most of the State Commands are already done with 3 weeks to a month arms training

Those who documented yet, I know for 2 person till date have not been able to receive their salary it's nearly a year now and several others due to late replacement or whatsoever
I really really doubt this is genuine but at the same time I can't say otherwise...!

Even the big men with 5G and 6G connection got in their candidates before time to follow up all the due process as required when others were doing their's

In all Be Careful....!

Latestgee007:
Pls, how real is this? I got this message from nscdc... Tho, the man helping with the replacement told me I would receive a mail from the HQ that same week I got the mail....

Was that the new salary scale...?

What was paid was way beyond 3 months or as stipulated on the APL I saw

Was any bonus added ?

I had observed people got more than what was stipulated on their APL

Thanks2God:
The Date on the Appointment Letter is January 1, 2022.

But the nscdc salary paid, was only for 3 months while the Appointment date is 6months

Why is it like that

Immigration paid their new recruited officers from the date on the Appointment Letter

Nscdc paid their new recruited officers from April to June instead of paying dem from January to June.

What's the rational/reason behind it

Basic Salary for an ASC as stated on Appointment Letter is 1,460,801.04 naira P/A which translates to 121,733.42 naira monthly

That's APL looks suspicious for that starting basic salary

Concerning Documentation

You are to appear on white shirt, short, socks and canvass

You will be matched down to the starting point there on the line it is arranged according to the rank.. You fall in/or get into the line where your rank is

From there, your name will be called out, you go to the first canopy and confirm your name, tick and sign on it.

There you proceed to medical check up where you will be stripped and asked questions upon, checked for tattoos etc then be cleared by the Medical Team

There you proceed to documents check, all your documents will be thoroughly checked with dates calculated to ensure it tallies.. Same also with your date of birth checked... Those above 30 years were asked to step outside... Can't tell what happened here, if you have someone to intervene for u, good enough

There you proceed to the next stage of various documentation process

From each point you will be directed to the next table to go to

You have 8 points to be cleared, the final point is IPPIS and there you submit your clearance form
