Can't witness a meaningful post right from the beginning of the thread, apart from the tpia's own very observant and considerate indeed.

tpia@:
govts in poorer countries need to start doing something both culturally and infrastructurally to alleviate the plight of the common man.

people will stop fleeing if they have jobs and opportunities in their own countries. And it will stem the flow of emigration as well.

this type of rampage was too deadly.

May God help us.

PoliticsObasanjo: Why Soldiers Can’t Tackle Boko Haram by chakula(op): 9:04am On Jul 08, 2011
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has warned that the deployment of military is not the solution to the Boko Haram upsurge in parts of the North. He canvassed what he called “deep” intelligence on the group.

Obasanjo, who was speaking in Abeokuta, said the type of training the military offers should be kept in perspective.

“Asking the military to deal with them (Boko Haram), we need to know that the military are trained in a static way. The group should be known and identifiable when they are captured. In this way, the military would know how to deal them,”he said.

Advancing more argument to buttress his point, the former president said: “But when a man is on okada with a gun and kill people along the road, how do you deal with such person? We have to find out why they became so bloody. There is so much to know and so much to find out before you can deal with them."

PoliticsMaiduguri: Motor Bikes Now Haram by chakula(op): 7:52am On Jul 08, 2011
Yesterday, the state government indefinitely outlawed private and commercial motorcycle operations in Maiduguri and the adjoining Jere Local Government Area, where most of the violence took place.

On their part, commercial motorcycle operators said the ban will subject them to hardship and will also create unemployment.

“Thousands of youths relied on the motorcycles for survival. Personally I don’t know how I can feed my family tomorrow if I didn’t go out with my motorcycle,” Lassha Nasiru, one of the bikers, said.

“Unless adequate measures are taken, the ban on motorcycles will breed joblessness and criminality,” Mrs Jummai Samuel, a sociologist at the University of Maiduguri, observed.

“Government must make sure that the okada riders get alternative source of livelihood so that their indolence will not create more problem for the society,” she said.

Major streets became virtually empty shortly after 2pm while hundreds of commuters were seen at various bus stops waiting for taxis and buses. Markets were closed around 4.30pm yesterday as people rushed back home

Jakumo:
As a point of correction, good sir, Ayatollah Buhari is the ONLY individual who directly threatened post election violence, in the event that he maintained his unbroken record of landslide LOSSES at presidential polls that he had no business contesting in the first place.

Buhari once again LOST Nigeria's most recent presidential election, true to form, and then, like a spoilt, screeching infant in a pram, he commenced to throw his toys about, by organizing and funding a campaign of terror and bombing, perpetrated under the supervision of Buhari's Al Queda buddies.

Ayatollah Buhari is guilty of premeditated GENOCIDE, and should thus be terminated with extreme prejudice, or, at the very least, captured and dispatched for a fair trial and life-long jail sentence in Den Haag. The sooner this urgent corrective action is taken, the sooner Nigeria will know peace and stability.
Chairman if you have mind please get gej at hand and advise him to do your will, from there Nigeria will become the most peaceful land in the world.

16. Walking in front of the praying person whether they be the imaam or praying alone and
stepping over the people during the Jumua’h khutbah. It is a sin upon the person who
passes in front of someone who is praying. If the one praying has no sutrah then it shold
be estimated to be at the place of prostration so the passerby should can pass beyond
that point. As narrated in the collections of al-Bukhari and Muslim by Abu Juhaim Ibn
Haarith (radiallahu ‘anhu), who said: The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam)
said: If the one who passes in front of the praying person knew how serious a sin it
was for him to do so it would have been better for him to wait for forty than walk in
front of him. [Forty may refer to forty days, months or years, and Allah knows best –
Trans.]
The one who pushes between the people during the Jumua’h khutbah harms people
through his being late for the salaah according to the statement of Al-Mustafah (sallallahu
‘alaihi wa sallam): Sit for you have caused harm and come late. [Ahmed and others.
Cutting between the people is forbidden. One who enters the masjid should sit where
there is space unless he sees a genuinely open area where he should then go to it and
sit.

15. A woman not covering her head with the khimaar in salaah and not covering her feet. The
‘aurah of the woman in the sallah is her entire body with the exception of her face. Nor is
there any harm if she covers her face due to the passing by of men or the like. It is
obligatory for her to wear a khimaar which is a head covering that also covers the bosom.
This according to his (slallahu ‘aliahi wa sallam) statement: Allah does not accept the
salaah of the menstruating female unless she is wearing a khimaar. [Collected by
Ahmed and the collectors of the six most authentic books except An-Nisaa’i and it has be
authenticated by Ibn Khuzaimah and others. It is also obligatory that she cover the tops of
her feet in compliance with the hadeeth “The entire woman is ‘auwrah” Collected by At-
Tirmidhee with an authentic isnaad. Along this same meaning is what is transmitted by
Malik and abu Dawood and others from Muhammad Ibn Said Inb Qunfudh from his
mother who asked Umm Salamah (radiallahu ‘anhaa), the wife of the Prophet (sallallahu
‘alaihi wa sallam), about what garment a woman should pray in. She answered: She

should pray in a khimaar and a full, loose-fitting chemise that conceals the tops of
her feet. Also with this meaning is the hadeeth of Umm Salamah: Lower it by an arms
length.
