A teacher was disgraced and humiliated for allegedly trying to stop local government leaders from taking over a school as secretariat in Ogun state. The teacher was made to roll in dirty water for standing up to the Local Council Development Area LCDA.

This is a glimpse of what people face daily under the criminal gangs called leaders in Ilase, Ihunbo, Idiroko and other towns along our border towns in Ogun state. A school teacher that tried to stop the LCDA from taking over their school as secretariat received this treatment from the leaders of the town led by the LCDA vice chairman, Adesina Taiwo.

A little Nigerian boy left his parents distraught after going missing while on vacation at the Basilica in the Vatican City,in Rome, Italy. The young boy was later reunited with his family after being found a female Vatican Secret Police - to the joy of his parents and siblings.

In the euphoria of being admitted to the Basilica, our little son slipped from our tight grip. By the time we realised we're short-one, euphoria dissolved to hysteria.

The ensuing traumatic drama was indescribable as the entire St Peter's Square resonated with our loud but palpable search wailing. It was like we cried in 'tongues' as almost all visitors from different walks of life could decode our heart-broken cries for help.

Some instinctively joined us in this race against time. We feared the worst with a fast receding consolation that we're in a holy land. As the Swiss Police were preparing to raise "A MISSING PERSON' alert, this good Samaritan with a Vatican Swiss (Secret) Police showed up cuddling in her arms my little Thierry Okenze Aguguom who himself was then exhausted and wet in his own tears.

Thank you Lord... Thierry got missing BUT FOUND.

At least four people died and eight others were injured when two terrorists attacked Maiduguri on Wednesday. The attack occurred near Muna Garage in the Borno State capital when a bomber detonated an improvised explosive device attached to his body, killing himself and two nearby civilians. At least eight others were wounded by the blast.

After the bombing, a second terrorist stole a soldier’s rifle before he was shot dead by an officer.

“As State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) staff arrived at the scene to rescue the wounded civilians, another boy came shouting Allahu Akbar, grabbed a soldier and snatched his AK-47 rifle. “But luckily enough, he could not open fire. As he approached another officer, he was shot dead.”

Mr. Kachalla added that a civilian was shot in the crossfire and has since been taken to the State Specialist Hospital by SEMA and Red Cross staff alongside other wounded victims.

When sometimes in May, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode commissioned Ojodu - Berger layby along with other facilities there, it was for cars and commercial buses to slip into it, discharge their passengers and simply roll on to other destinations.

Few weeks after the commissioning, opportunists under the guise of Area Boys, seized up the place and converted it their parks, and were ticketing cars and buses discharging passengers.

Pressed by the need to inject sanity to the lay-by and return it to what it was designated to be, police operatives under – cover agents swooped on the ticketing syndicate and caught some of them with several piles of tickets and takings, all rolled up like withered autumn leaves.

Police arrested a Nigerian woman identified as Evelyn Uzodinma who allegedly stabbed her boyfriend and fellow Nigerian Godfrey Izzu Chibueze to death during a quarrel outside their house in west Delhi on Saturday afternoon. The woman had rushed her boyfriend to a nearby hospital but the 30-year-old man died of excessive bleeding. Police said the victim Chibueze , ran a garments business and was in a live-in relationship with Evelyn.

The woman ran a food stall near their house in Uttam Nagar’s D block. The two were in a live-in relationship for over a year and stayed at a rented house.

Investigation revealed that the couple had a fight around 2pm on Saturday. Police suspect the tiff was related to a financial dispute. Evelyn told police that the two fought violently and also punched and kicked one another.

Locals, who claimed to have seen the couple fight, told police that the two were punching each other.

A police officer said that during the scuffle, the woman picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed Chibueze on his left hand, which led to excessive bleeding. Police are awaiting postmortem report for further clarity on Chibueze’s death. Police have registered a case of murder registered against Evelyn.

A banker has taken a swipe at the Nigeria police force while narrating how his church member was arrested after discovering a wandering child in Ifako area of Lagos who later went missing two weeks after. The child who was found - was taken to a church by the good Samaritan identified as sister Happiness before being taken to the police station the same day.

A true life experience in the last 24 hours

My phone rang at 3:15 pm yesterday Saturday August 19, 2017 and it was the Pastor of our church Pastor Tope Akimbola calling me sounding down( I knew there was trouble) that one of the member of our church RCCG Glory Worship Center was locked up at IFako Police station on the charges that she found a child and the long story was while Sister Happiness was going to work on July 20, 2017 she found a child wondering by the canal in Ifako who was apparently lost and could not find her way.

The child is about 4 years old and as a good Samaritan she brought the child to church. The members and the Pastor was informed and the child was taken to Alakara Police station .

It is interesting to note that Alakara Police station has facility for children and juvenile correction center. Our church members including sister Happiness wrote statements. Our church in the past has always supported Alakara Police station and once they heard the name of the church they were very helpful.

Later on like about 2 weeks Sister Happiness in the same IFako residence heard that a child was missing and told the neighbors that she found a child two weeks ago and they should check Alakara Police station.

Long story cut short the police arrested Sister Happiness yesterday that she must know about the missing child and that she was involved and why did she not come to IFako police station in the first place. She was immediately locked up at the cell of IFako Police station since yesterday morning. Now why will citizens want to help their neighbors or the Police.

This morning our Pastor grabbed me at 7:45am in company of his Assistant Pastor Bayo Ajayi and we started working up our phones. Eventually I got to speak with the DPO of IFako Police station. That was the drama of my life.

He said why did she go to Alakara Police station and not IFako Police station? I explained to him that not everyone has education to know that the nearest police station was were to report a matter and that he will be shocked that people are scared of police and pure ignorance.

He even went micro by telling me that Sister Happiness should have shouted that.....the people around can intervene. I was disturbed that SP Smith a senior officer in the police force can think like this.

I appealed for at least 45 minutes on the phone and I even offered to see him immediately he said he is not at work and she will be charged to court on Monday and that was his final position.

At this point I started racking my brain on who can help intervene in this simple matter? I tried getting the phone no of Mr Fatai Owoseni the Lagos State Commissioner of Police but no luck.

I finally got an old friend who I had to wake up Assistant Commissioner Of Police , Kola Okunlola .Thanks to technology I had to do a three way call.

I finally connected my ACP friend with DPO IFako .Now my worry must we know someone to get things going in Nigeria?

So we started the conversation and I was shocked of the spice added by the DPO. He had full facts of the story .The ACP asked him five salient questions

1. Was he aware that Sister Happiness reported the matter to Alakara Police station he answered in affirmative

2. Did Sister Happiness take the child away or reported same day? He said same day

3. Do you know that this will discourage good people to help others in the future .......He agreed

4. What did he do to the parents that were careless by not taking care of their child? He said he arrested and released them immediately.

5. On the board at the police station where you state the person in the cell and the offence what did you state as the offence of Sister Happiness? He said Misconduct. At this point I just gave up and said under my breath that police is not just our friend.

The ACP adviced him to release Sister Happiness and get a reliable surety that will produce her anytime that she is required for investigation. That charging her was a waste of government resources.

Now the DPO IFako has requested that we all report at 8am tomorrow.

My question and worry ......what is Misconduct for a good Samaritan that saved the life of a vulnerable child?

The child was not kidnapped or kept away.

I am appealing to anyone that has contact with the Lagos Police Commissioner to help circulate this ....

I hope we will not discourage other good Samaritan s being their brothers keeper.

This unidentified young man was involved in a fatal accident in Babura Local Government Area of ​​Jigawa Local Government Area. The #ResumeorResign protesters are set to protest outside President Muhammadu Buhari London residence, popularly called the Abuja House, from Friday to Saturday, August 19. The protesters claimed to have received a permit and safety barriers from the UK police to conduct their protest.

The protest will reportedly hold all night long and protesters are advised to dress warm as they sit all night outside the president's residence demanding that he resume office or resign immediately.

This is very sad. Pictured is Mr Dominic Nnabu, who lost his 18 months old child, Osinachi Nnabu, during the three storey building which collapsed in Owerri, the Imo state capital on Sunday. According to Chidiebube Okeoma, the man and his wife survived and were discharged after first aid treatment but their baby was the first to be pronounced dead during the unfortunate incident which has claimed six lives.

Apart from his baby, the man lost all his properties as they were buried in the rubbles. He was said to have escaped with his wife and the two cloths he is wearing.

A popular, self-proclaimed Zimbabwean prophet based in Gweru, has ordered one of his congregants to eat a live chicken as part of a “deliverance” ceremony. According to The Chronicle, members of the apostolic sect filmed the act in a video shown below during a recent church service at the shrine opposite Mkoba Teachers’ College.

Madzibaba Beswage, who now commands a huge following in the city due to his “miracles” allegedly said eating the live chicken was an act of faith that would heal the congregant.

He said the weird act occurred during a church service when he prophesied to the woman (name withheld) that she was possessed with an evil spirit which has been devouring her children.

“I prophesied to the woman that she was a witch as she had devoured her two children, allegations which she was denying. This is when I ordered the spirit to manifest in her. At once she went into an trance, took a live chicken which was at the shrine and started eating it,” said Madzibaba Beswage.

The woman said;

“I went to Madzibaba Beswage’s shrine where l wanted to get cleansed of some troubling spirits. Madzibaba prophesied that I had an evil spirit which makes me eat my children.

“While I was trying to argue with him, I fell into a trance for almost 30 minutes. I didn’t know what I was doing. All I know is that I recovered to see blood stains on my body. My friends told me that I ate a quarter of live chicken while in a trance,” said the woman.

Earlier today, the senate president Bukola Saraki and the House of Representatives Speaker; Yakubu Dogara paid a visit to president Muhammadu Buhari at the Abuja House in London.
