The elders "OHA" of Owere "Nchi Ise" in Imo state today visited the grave side of the founding fathers of Owere Ekwem Arugo of the 14th century, however called on the ancestors of the land to rise against any "inhumanity" against the people of Owerri by the government. The elders who gathered to mourn the victims who were killed in the Eke Ukwu Owerri market demolition - assured the people of Owerri zone that all legal means and right steps will be taken to ensure that justice prevails as they poured libel and engaged in traditional rites at the graveside. They resolved that Eke Ukwu Owerri must stay and can not be relocated whether governor Rochas Okorocha likes it or not. A man identified as Mr. Efosa was allegedly gunned down by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Edo state. According to Ifeanyi Baron Large, the man with two wives and twelve children was killed after confronting the herdsmen after invading his farm with their cattle and causing damages.. Read the full report Ifeanyi shared on Facebook; Fulani herdsmen invaded Oben Community Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State and killed Mr. Efosa while he tried to confront the herdsmen over the damages caused by their herds of cattle.Until the gruesome murder of Mr. Efosa, was a farmer, survived by two wives and twelve Children. This unholy and inhuman attack by the Fulani Herdsmen has become a reoccurring incident in the region. Few months ago, they also committed more severe pains. Their herds of cattle will destroy the farmer's crops and when the farmers confronts them, they will compare them to death with their AK47 and other dangerous weapons. The painful thing about this situation is that these arm bearing Fulani herdsmen are not being attacked or apprehended by any of our Nigerian Security officers, they are even empowered and paid. Media reports have it that a bus conveying players and officials of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle few hours ago. The accident happened along Benin/Ore expressway while on their way to Ijebu Ode to honour the NPFL Matchday 36 fixture with Sunshine Stars billed for this Sunday, 3rd of September, 2017. According to confirmed reports, six of the players sustained varying degree of injuries and two that are unconscious have regained consciousness and are receiving treatment presently at the closest medical facility near the site of the accident. A Uber driver, identified as Hammed Olojo, 31 was on Sunday afternoon restrained by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad on patrol of Third Mainland Bridge from jumping into the Lagoon. Olojo, who drove himself to the Third mainland Bridge in a Uber Toyota Corolla saloon car had written a short note and left it in the car when he was retrained by the officers who monitored him a while before walking up to him. Olojo, an ex – convict, drove the grey Corolla with the registration number EKY 312 ES belonging to Kalejaiye Oluwaseyi to the bridge before attempting to leap into the Lagoon. Questioned by RRS Commander, ACP Tunji Disu on why he contemplated suicide, Olojo explained that he was owing N10,000 in Court 3, Ikeja High Court and the owner of the vehicle N80,000:00. He stated that things have been difficult for him and that he had tried all possible means to survive with no success. Olojo disclosed that his wife persuaded him from going ahead with his plan but his mind was made up and was fed up of everything. Olojo, had planned to leave behind a short note in Yoruba and translated into English in the car before leaping into the Lagos Lagoon. The letter read in part “I killed myself because of the challenges I have been facing in life. I tried my best and everything has come to nothing”. He also added in the letter that he was owing a creditor N10,000 in Court 3 of Ikeja High Court and N80,000 for the owner of the UBER car he was driving. Kalejaiye who was at RRS office in company of his wife noted that for two weeks, he had not remitted N40,000 per week lease to him yet and he Kalejaiye, has been paying for the service of the car. He noted that although, he told him to hand over the car last Thursday, at no time did he force him not to drive the car. He noted that he was aware that he had a court case, at no time did he put him under pressure about the car. In the note which was dated 27th August, 2017 and signed by him, Olojo indicated his phone number and the car owner’s number. Confirming the development, Police PRO stated that the case had been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation. A twitter user identified as Adebanjo Adebayo has raised an alarm concerning this man who he claimed made away with some cash at a bank in Lagos. When NATIONAL HELM contacted him, Mr. Adebayo revealed that the alleged thief stole N1.2 million from Access bank located in Ejigbo area of Lagos last month. He also revealed that the theft cost his brother his job as he was sacked by the back recently for the missing money. The alleged thief was tracked after a CCTV footage from the bank was reviewed. He urged members of the public to be vigilant as relating to the alleged thief and anyone with useful information that would lead to his arrest - should contact the appropriate authorities. A foreign expatriate was lucky to have escaped alive after being attacked by a suspected member of the dreaded Badoo cult group in Ikorodu area of Lagos. According to online reports, the suspected Badoo member who is a cab driver picked up the foreign expatriate from the airport and took him home to use cutlass to butcher him - an attack which the man survived. This is really embarrassing. A nursing mother was publicly disgraced as a woman forcefully removed her underwear in full view of onlookers. In a trending video footage posted online, the woman can be seen removing the lady's underwear - leaving her totally exposed below even as the little baby on her back cried aloud. After the underwear was removed, the nursing mother who was very embarrassed and unhappy - covered herself with her wrapper and onlookers laughed and mocked her. Governor Fayose's Brother Involved In Motor Accident Along Abuja Road. On Sunday, 27th August, 2017, the Imo state chapter of the Barr. Charles Ezekwem-led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) paid heart wrenching sympathy and condolence visits to the families of the victims of the demolition of the ancestral Eke Ukwu Owerre International Market, in the capital city of Imo state of Nigeria, Owerri. The delegation of PDP members and faithfuls led by the Secretary of Imo PDP, Hon. Ray Emeana visited the family of Mr Isaiah Ibeanusi, the father of late Somtochukwu Ibeanusi (only son), the nine-year old boy who was shot dead by security forces while on his way to the market being forcefully demolished by the Rochas Okorocha/Madumere/Nwosu and APC-led government of Imo state against the wishes of the people and a court order restraining the government from doing so. On arrival, the PDP delegation met the family that was very bitter, pained and sad at the murder of their innocent son, with the father, mother, family members and friends crying uncontrollably. The PDP delegation which also included Hon. Ebere Chukwuemeka (State ex-officio), Hon. Eze Oguamanam (Owerri Municipal PDP Secretary), Mr. Onyewuchi Anoyue (Ward Chairman, Azuzi Ward 1), Comr. Stephen Njemanze (PDP Chairman, Ikenegbu Ward 1) visited Chief Leonard Osuji (Ebubeagu of Owerri) who was shot in the leg by security agents (soldiers) and sympathised with him and thanked God that he survived the "callous actions of the state government". The Imo PDP members also visited hospitalised victims who were shot and are right now receiving urgent treatments at the Intensive Care Units (ICU) of some hospitals in the state after undergoing emergency surgeries. Some internet fraudsters popularly known as 'Yahoo' boys have been apprehended by the Madina Divisional Police Command on Friday in Ghana. According to multiple online reports from Ghana, about twenty six of them including Nigerians are suspected to be engaged in cyber crime. The suspects, whose ages range from 19 to 35 were picked up at a suburb of Ashale Botwe near Madina in the La-Nkwantanag/Madina municipality of Greater Accra.
