A Facebook user has narrated how a woman was saved at Area 3 Abuja yesterday after being involved in an accident with a truck. According to Chinenye Caring Eberechi, the waste truck dragged the woman and her bag of Potato she was carrying. Passersby had to scream and shout until the van fell into a drainage. A Court of Appeal sitting in Port Harcourt Friday confirmed former Borno State governor Senator Ali Modu Sheriff as the national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). In doing so, the appellate set aside a Federal High Court judgement delivered Justice Mohammed Liman which recognised Senator Ahmed Makarfi as the chairman of the party. Justice Liman in his judgment said that the National Convention of the PDP held in Port Harcourt in 2016 was lawfully conducted in accordance with the party’s constitution and guideline and that Ali Modu Sheriff’s led executive was lawfully dissolved during the national convention. A man identified as Ekezie from Imo state was paraded unclad after admitting to the killing of numerous people in his hometown through diabolical means. The accuser Mr. Chinwendu who is a barber/hairstylist at MkpachaUkwu Mbeke in Mbeke community of Isiala Mbano in Imo state -laid a strong accusation against Mr. Ekezie and equally backed it with about 2million Naira as a penalty if he fails to prove his accusations beyond reasonable doubt. The accuser claimed that he took Mr. Ekezie where the charms were prepared years ago In Ebonyi state on the agreement that he is taking Mr. Ekezie to the deity for protective powers, but the story changed when they got to the shrine and to his dismay, he found out that Mr. Ekezie came for a different mission. According to Awurum Darlington, the accused in company of some youths and traditional headed to the shrine in Ebonyi State for confirmation, and behold, they got to Ebonyi State and it was confirmed that this Mr. Ekezie pictured unclad here had written so many names cut across men and women in different businesses and crafts within the area and immediately he confessed, pleading with the people not to expose him at home. According to eyewitnesses, over 50 chains locked with keys and nailed to the mighty Tree in Ebonyi State were uncovered with each placed with a name. So many of them dead already. They forced him to unlock the keys in other to set the captives free which he did and made an open confession that nothing can be done about the dead ones. This is serious. There was drama at the Tema Community 9 Cemetery in Ghana on Saturday February 11, 2016 when a man who works in a mortuary with the Tema General Hospital stormed the burial ground to seize a dead body over an amount of GH¢40 balance (nearly N3,000). According to trending reports online, it was gathered that the relations were supposed to pay him for services he rendered. According to some eyewitnesses, the mortuary worker in the company of a colleague, while the body was being interred, seized the coffin, opened it, picked out the dressed corpse and started heading back to the mortuary. The conduct of the mortuary men shocked mourners who had gathered at the graveside to pay their last respect to the deceased. Meanwhile, family elders in the company of some friends managed to save the situation which paved the way for the deceased to be buried. According to a twitter user and an eyewitness, a lady was pushed out of this speeding car along Abuja stadium yesterday. It was a sad day for the people of Umudim Community of Atta in Ikeduru LGA of Imo State, on Friday morning, 10th February, 2017, following a horrific motor accident which occurred along Owerri- Okigwe Express road in Imo State. The accident was said to have been caused when a Hilux truck collided with a tricycle, popularly known as Keke, killing five occupants of the tricycle, including a final year student of Federal Polytechnic ,Nekede, Bright Ononiwu, and the keke driver who died a day after in the Hospital. According to IfeanyiCy Njoku who shared this, it was gathered that the white Hilux vehicle rammed into the Blue tricycle, instantly killing three out of the four passengers and two others died later in the hospital. The victims were said to be on their way to Owerri, the state capital, for different purposes when the auto crash occurred at Ama -Alim Junction, at ATTA Ikeduru in front of Daddy House near Genesis Private school. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, recently received twelve suspected oil thieves, a vessel MV OMISAN 1 with registered number IMO 7216244, an un-named barge and two wooden boats from the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) PATHFINDER Naval Base, Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt, Rivers State for further investigation and prosecution. While handing over the suspects to the EFCC, Commodore W. O Kayoda, Commander of NHS PATHFINDER said that, the suspected oil thieves were arrested on 6 February, 2017 by the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) PATHFINDER patrol team deployed for Anti-Crude Oil Theft/ Illegal Oil Bunkering operations around Taraba Jetty, Borokiri, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. They were arrested with one vessel: MV OMISAN 1 and one wooden boat. The suspects, who were crew members of MV OMISAN 1 and the wooden boat were arrested in the process of transshipping an estimated 60,000 litres of suspected illegally refined Automated Gas Oil, AGO, from the wooden boat to MV OMISAN 1. Similarly, on 7 February 2017, the patrol team intercepted a barge laden with an estimated 100,000 litres of products suspected to be AGO, and another wooden boat laden with an estimated 60,000 litres of products suspected to be illegally refined AGO around Isaka axis. However, no suspect was arrested with the seizures made on 7 February, 2017. The suspects aboard MV OMISAN 1 are: Captain Benjamio Igiogio; Engineer Samuel Ogunfemi; Jakpa Eyituoyo; Johnson Dudu; Ogunkalu Taiwo; Toju Oko-Otiuroh; Desmond Edafe Unuarhe; Ibiye Ngiania; Sylvanus Ikorawi J; Ayadi Abiola, Chibueze Nwali and Imeh Brown. Six properties traced to some suspects alleged to have diverted about Three Billion Niara ( N3,000,000,000.00k) Amnesty Funds in the Niger Delta have been confiscated by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. The suspects, comprising top brass former militants and bankers that allegedly facilitated the diversion of the funds, are still being investigated by operatives of the EFCC in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, for their involvement in the diversion of funds meant for more than 1500 former militants. However, six properties traced to them were on Wednesday attached in Benin- City, Edo State. The properties, all bungalows, were attached at different locations in Benin- City. Five of the properties were attached at Banker' s Estate, off Amowie Street, Benin- City and the last one was attached at Ogbighoko Quarters, Benin- City. Other items recovered from them in Yenogoa, Bayelsa State, comprise a Man Diesel Truck and a Pure Water Factory.
