The World Igbo Congress, WIC, a global network of Ndigbo has congratulated the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu on his re-election into office, declaring that “anyone asking him to resign his position is an enemy of the Igbo people”. Ike Ekweremadu Also, the Enugu USA, an umbrella body of Enugu State people residing in the United States of America, has poured encomiums on Senator Ekweremadu, describing his re-election as historic and well deserved. In a statement signed by the Secretary-General of the WIC, Dr. Agatha Anosike and the Media Director, Dr. Acho Orabuchi, the global body under the leadership of Joe Nze Eto, felicitated with Senator Ekweremadu and all the Governors of Enugu, Imo, Abia, Delta, Ebonyi, and Rivers States on their successful election and inauguration. It urged them to brace up for the implementation of their campaign promises in order to improve the quality of life of their people. Continuing, the WIC said: “We congratulate Dr. Ike Ekweremadu for his selfless service to the country, as well as his unparalleled leadership in the Senate and ECOWAS. We are strongly behind him and will do everything to support him in office”. It noted that the current dicey economic status of the nation and the slippery slopes for our region in Nigeria’s political terrain call for immediate, strategic, all hands on deck, team approach by the leaders of the zone towards its transformation. On its part, the Enugu USA in a statement signed by its National President, Dr. Sinachi Ugwuonye, described Senator Ekweremadu’s re-election as most deserving. The US-based group said: “In this position, our own Super Hero, Dr. Ike Ekweremadu has been tested and found highly worthy. Though this was a hard-to-believe outcome of the National Assembly elections, considering the political setting of current Nigeria, we are not surprised, as we know that we have a rare phenomenon in the person of this honorable man, fondly and largely known as IKEOHA”. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/05/ekweremadu-a-golden-journey-with-destiny/ike-ekweremadu1/

Lokoja – Rev. Phyllis Sortor, the 86-year old American woman missionary kidnapped in Emi Woro in Kogi State on Feb. 25 and late released by the abductors, has returned to Nigeria. Sortor, who was seen at Government House in Lokoja on Wednesday, told newsmen that she returned to Nigeria to complete her missionary work as ordained by God. She said she was happy to be back in Emi Woro where she was kidnapped by six masked gunmen who kept her for twelve days (Feb. 25 to March 7). She said Emi Woro had become a part and parcel of her life, describing the people as her people and friends. Phyllis thanked the villagers for their concern during her ordeal in the hands of her captors, saying that they had been of great help to her in the missionary work. A report by the BBC has revealed how hundreds of Nigerians are being transported to Britain for prostitution or thrown into slavery. According to Kevin Hyland, the UK’s first anti-slavery commissioner, the situation is “deeply concerning” and the problem of such exploitation was “enormous”. Newsbreak.ng reports that the commissioner, who has only been in post for six months, said he cannot think of anything more worrying than women and children being raped and forced into domestic slavery. Figures released by the UK’s National Crime Agency, revealed that more than 2,000 potential trafficking victims were referred to the authorities in 2014 and out of this figure, 244 were from Nigeria, a 31 per cent increase from the previous year. Observers believe, however, that the real figure of potential trafficking victims from Nigeria could be much higher than the statistics given by the British government. Debbie Ariyo, executive director of the charity Africans Unite Against Child Abuse, who deals with lots of victims, remains adamant that the real number of those trafficked to the UK from Nigeria is much higher because many of them are reluctant to speak out. “There is a notion among the families in Nigeria that once their family has come over here, they will have a better life, they will get better education, they will have better food and material things. “A lot of people don’t see the abuse and exploitation and many of the young people who’ve tried to tell their parents back home, it’s difficult for the parents to accept that something like this could be happening in Britain,” she said. “This is not about lack of resources but about using them effectively.” File photo of ladies who are been repatriated back to Nigeria for practising prostitution in the UK.. My brother and his babe had a serious quarrel that all most led to the crash of their relationship... Guys guess what the problem was? My brother refused to wash his the babes under wear when she was sick!!(Can some one tell me that this girl ain't crazy!).. But, before we crucify the babe let's hear her own side, the babe argued that my brother will always want to take off her undies with her his mouth(am not gonna go into a the dirty details) during intercourse but when she became sick, my brother refused to even touch talk more of washing her undies saying its a taboo!!! So to my question, guys will you wash your babes undies or is it a taboo to do so? Ladies will you let your guy wash your undies knowing you wash his undies? NOTE: we are talking about people that are not yet married.

NOBLEDANDY:O yeah someone is sponsoring radio biafra(mind you I said no igbo is willing to sponsor a war!) If I read and remembered well, that was how people sponsored Ojukuw(God rest his soul) when he started shouting cessation and when the war began, those who were richer than him(Ojukuw) deserted him and those who Ojukuw was richer than stayed and exploited him!!! Don't let us(Igbos) wash our dirty pants outside oo cause it is obvious you don't know how dirty it is...... |
wisdomguy4u:Wa joko si mbe, ke anyi tua, e na kudi nka? Come sidon, make we bet, wey your money? |
NOBLEDANDY:With what resources, money! For your information, an Igbo man will be the last person to sponsor a war! They will rather take their money to Kotonu and continue their business, we(igbos) are not bunch of irrational people!!! |
eagleeye2:Tell them! Their hero GEJ scamed them and they now want the "devil" to help them.... Igbo make we stop to shame our self jare!!!! |
500GP:When you have the key to the kitchen, you are not scared! You know what I mean? |
wisdomguy4u:Hahahahahahha! Well you are not the first person to shut me up for saying am an Igbo boy(I don't even look like it).. But as an igbo boy who has lived in 12 different state of Nigeria speaks 7 different language(Igo,Hausa and Yoruba included), I will say with all due respect an Igbo man can never rule a fellow igbo that's why most of us leave our villages to other land cause we got the "I must succeed" syndrome and our pride always makes us to succeed!!!! I love igbo and am proud to be an Igbo!! |
500GP:Igbo's are all kings and a king does not need a king! |
anataala:You know that is impossible! I as an igbo man will never vote for any igbo man!!! E bu eze ne hulo gi( translated) you are a king in your own house!!!!! If you be igbo you will know the literal meaning of that adage.... |
Ofeakwu:Well I am making common sense and you know it! truth be told, Igbos are like the jews, they succeed anywhere as far as its not there land! |
TeamSimple:And some one will call me a bush ma for complaining!!! Pineapp:My Oga well done!! |
abduljabbar4:Abeg tell them the truth!! We would have had the senate president if only we voted for Chris Ngega!!! But we chose to go with the losing party!! |
NOBLEDANDY:The cause you people betrayed long ago or what?! God saved us that we never had Biafra if not we would have killed our selves!! An Igob man can never be ruled ba a fellow Igbo! Go read your History well and you will find out that the igbos failed Biafra!!!!! Am an history student and I know of many Igbo men who became stinkingly rich just because of the civil war!!! |
