http://nigerianpilot.com/new-4-star-hotel-opens-owerri/

Owerri , the Imo State capital has added to its bountiful catalogue of hotels and
resorts following the opening of the city’s newest hotel, the Immaculate Royal
International Hotel Ltd, situated along the ever busy Port Harcourt Road, near
Imo State House of Assembly.
Addressing newsmen yesterday during a press briefing at the hotel, the
managing director, Mr. Chris Praise Duru stated that the hotel which commenced
operations in October 2011 at Abuja now has two branches in the Federal Capital
Territory, FCT, and the latest one in Owerri.
According to him, the hotel was formally opened on the last Christmas Day with a
200 bedded cozy rooms of four(4) classes namely, royal, diplomatic,
ambassadorial and senatorial suites with lavishly finished interior décor and
other facilities befitting a 4-Star hotel anywhere in the world.
Duru explained that the reason for investing in Owerri is because of the rising
choice of the city as the tourism capital in the Southern region dismissed
insinuations that the city has more than enough hotels.
He insisted that the important issue about the growth of the hospitality industry
in any society is not all about the number of outfits but the quality of service
rendered stressing that it is the latter that attracts patronage.
He called on Imolites and Nigerians alike to avail themselves of the exquisite
facilities such as the; 1,000, 400 and 100 capacity halls for events assuring of the
best of security, safety and general satisfaction of customers at all times.
The Managing Director who took newsmen round the new imposing edifice urged
Imolites and government to take far more interest in development of tourism by
investing constructively in the hospitality industry and dismissed what he called
the erroneous impression that the increase in hotels promotes promiscuity.
“As far as hospitality and tourism are concerned there is no link between hotels
and promiscuity. Hotel is a business outfit that provides home for the sojourner
away from home and promotes state economy not promiscuity as erroneously
believed in certain quarters,” he submitted.

Politics / Opinion: The Wonders Of Jonathan’s Tranformation Programme by Charlesdonald(m): 7:18pm On Jan 19, 2015
In 2010 when other Presidential candidates
were declaring their presidential interest with
Six Points Agenda, Four Points Agenda even
Seven Points Agenda, President Good Luck
Ebele Jonathan declared his own with
“Transformation Agenda”.
With Transformation Agenda being a novel
idea in the nation’s socio-political mantra,
many analysts and commentators were
confused of what the President actually meant
by transforming Nigeria. Some gave
conceptual meaning to it by asking “Does he
mean a dramatic change in Nigeria?” If true,
then the president is only going to work in the
area of Nigeria’s Foreign Policy! But, little did
they know that, what President Jonathan
meant by transforming Nigeria was an
integrated development that cut across all
sectors of the national economy. His reason
was because, the challenges facing Nigeria as
a country were too numerous to be limited to
only six or four points agenda as other
contenders did!
However, on assumption of office, our
amiable and pragmatic President left no one
in doubt about the tasks ahead! Hence, he
rolled up his sleeves and hit the ground
running by first of all assembling the doyen of
Nigeria’s crème de le cream who will help him
in the transformation programme. As a result
of this, within one year, Nigerians and the
entire world began to feel and acknowledge
the giant strides of the Jonathan’s
administration. That was when cynical
Nigerians began to have a rethink!
Their change of mind however did not come
easily; rather they were compelled to change
their position because of the undeniable
wonders of the Jonathan’s transformation
programme. In fact, if the blind man or
woman in the country cannot see the wonders
of the transformation programme, certainly,
he or she perceives transformation in the
Agricultural Sector, Power Sector, Education
Sector, Mining Sector, Transportation Sector,
Oil and Gas Sector, Rehabilitation and
Expansion of National Infrastructure as well as
Job Creation among numerous others.
The Education Sector for instance got an
increased allocation from the paltry N224
billion in 2007 to N634 billion in 2013. This
figure however did not include the improved
access to education which is seen in the
building of 125 Al-majiri schools, thereby
removing more 9.5 million Al-majiris from the
street to modern class room comparable only
to those found in Europe and America. The
transformation train also moved to the tertiary
institutions by establishing three additional
Federal Universities in the North, bringing the
total number of Federal Universities
established by President Good Luck Jonathan
administration to 12. Still within the education
sector, the Jonathan’s Government
rehabilitated 352 laboratories in 2013 alone,
while 72 new laboratories were constructed in
all the Unity Schools and Federal cum State
Polytechnics in the country.
In the Agricultural Sector, the Jonathan
administration achieved what his
predecessors could not achieve during their
reign in office! With the introduction of the e-
wallet system, brief case-farmers who were
hitherto notorious for sabotaging the efforts
of the past regimes in the agricultural sector
were dislodged. As at the end of last year, over
4.2 million farmer’s nation-wide got fertilizers
at highly subsidized rate under the Growth
Enhancement Scheme (GES). That success
alone led to the production of over 8 million
metric tons of food stuffs in the country, while
at the same time, bringing down the cost of
food importation in to the country from the
exorbitant rate of N1.1 trillion in 2011 to N648
billion last year. By the end of this year, it is
expected that Nigeria will move from food
importing country to becoming a net exporter
of food.
Similarly, with the successful introduction and
implementation of the National Industrial
Revolution Plan (NIRP) whose mandate and
purpose is to industrialize and diversify our
national economy from overdependence on
oil and gas industry to agro-processing, light
manufacturing, petrochemicals among others
which is attributed to the wonders of the
Jonathan’s Transformation Agenda, Nigeria is
now better positioned to join the next
emerging global economic giants known as
MINT. The MINT countries are; Mexico,
Indonesia, Nigeria and Turkey.
Also, with our rebased Gross Domestic
Product (GDP), Nigeria is now the largest
economy in Africa and 26th in the world with
$510 billion worth of GDP. It will be recalled
that, the last time our GDP was rebased was in
1990; a time the telecommunication subsector,
publishing, entertainment, ICT among other
subsectors were not captured in the
calculation of our GDP. Hence, the rebasing of
our GDP by the Jonathan’s administration has
the capacity of attracting multibillion dollar
worth of Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) in to
the country in the nearest future!
The manufacturing sector also got an
unprecedented boost under the
transformation programme of the Jonathan’s
administration. For example, Nigeria has
moved from being an importer of cement to
an exporter of cement to the outside world; as
the country’s cement production capacity has
increased from 2 million metric tons in 2002
to 28.5 million metric tons in 2013. And it is
expected that, the wonders of the Jonathan’s
Transformation Agenda would double that feat
by the end of this year.
In the area of job creation, the Jonathan’s
administration in the year 2013 alone created
about 1.6 million new jobs and has added
about 500,224 jobs for the first and second
quarters of this year. This is outside the 70
percent of Nigerians who work in the informal
sector. With the sustenance of the Youth
Enterprise with Innovation (YOU WIN), the
Subsidy Re-investment and Empowerment
Programme (SURE-P) and the Presidential Job
Creation Committee of the Jonathan’s
administration which has the mandate of
creating 3 million jobs yearly, it is believed
that an end to the high rate of unemployment
is now in view!
The Transportation Sector is also not left out,
as massive construction and rehabilitation of
our road and rail system is ongoing at an
unprecedented level. With the construction of
Abuja-Abaji-Lokoja road, the construction of
Kano-Maiduguri road, the 2nd Niger Bridge,
the rehabilitation of Shagamu-Ore-Benin dual
carriage road, the rehabilitation of Onitsha-
Enugu-Port Harcourt dual carriage among
many others, Nigerians can now drive to any
length without fear of the usual carnage on
our road or Ember demons!
Because of the wonders of the Jonathan’s
Transformation Programme, Nigeria has
being named as the number one investment
destination in Africa by the influential United
Nations Conference on Trade and
Development. This is why the entire world
converged in Abuja in May this year for the
World Economic Forum for Africa.
The wonders of the Jonathan’s transformation
programme are countless as it cut across all
sectors, but, for the sake of time and space, let
me stop here until Jonathan declares his
intention for the February 14 2015 Presidential
Election.

Politics / Stop Castigating Mbaka, Imams Tell Nigerians by Charlesdonald(m): 7:16pm On Jan 13, 2015
Council of Imams and Ulama, Kaduna State chapter,
has called on Nigerians to stop castigating Reverend
Father Ejike Mbaka over his expression on the
February polls, saying instead, they should reflect on
issues raised by the cleric. Chairman of the council,
Sheik Abubakar Baba Tuni and secretary, Yusuf Yakubu
Arrigasiyyu, at a press briefing in Kaduna yesterday,
said Mbaka, as a cleric, only expressed his concern on
the state of the nation, “ an act which is also obligatory
for Islamic leaders.
” “The Quran, Chapter 2:159 states thus: ‘Verily, those
who concealed the clear proofs, evidence and the
guidance which We have sent down after We have
made it clear for the people in the Book, they are the
ones cursed by Allah and cursed by the cursers.
Democracy is not about corruption, killing of innocent
souls, destruction of property, bad leadership, witch-
hunting, poverty, unemployment and mismanagement
of resources as visible today, but good governance.
Religious leaders are in the best position to educate,
enlighten and provide proper guidance on all aspects
of life. Consequently, the Council salutes the courage
exhibited by Rev’d Fr. Ejike Mbaka in speaking the
minds of majority of Nigerians. The truth is acceptable
even if it comes from a non Muslim,” they said. The
council called on religion leaders to have the fear of
Allah and be bold enough to speak the truth.

That's somewhat true. Proteins are responsible for human growth and repair. Beans is protenious and is more effective for growth when consumed as a teenager compared to as an adult because the average human stops growing at about 21 - 25 years old.

You are getting further insane. So what u consider good investment for ur state is those cheap hotels..lol

FYI..do not misunderstand the gathering of prostitutes to hospitality industry. Places as Calabar and Akwaibom are the real and genuine place for that.

Onitsha has a divers economy from industries to commerce and booming hospitality that comes with malls and 5 star/entertainment center, oil and gas etc. The city has the highest number of banks east of the niger and those and other professionals alike constitute very large corporate society in the city.

Again the only 5 star facilities in the East are the Agulu resort, Raddison blu Onitsha and Nike lake resort.

This man is seriously spoiling market for Jonathan.
For
those who do not know him, his name is REVEREND
FATHER EJIKE MBAKA and he is one of the most
prominent and respected clerics in the country and
heads the popular Catholic Adoration Centre in
Enugu.
I am watching a video of him delivering a sermon to a
mammoth crowd where he advised Jonathan to step
down for Buhari. Father Mbaka said:
From the oracle of the Holy Spirit, we are announcing
change....I love President Goodluck Jonathan and I
used to be his ardent fan, but I want good for my
people and that’s why I want Nigerians to vote out
Goodluck Jonathan and vote General Muhammad
Buhari. I don’t care if Buhari is a Muslim and from the
North; all I care about is that Buhari can save Nigeria.
Jonathan is a good man but he cannot lead Nigeria.
Jonathan should quietly resign honourably and let
Nigeria be. The destiny of Nigeria is greater than
Goodluck Jonathan. The goodluck in the Jonathan has
become a badluck to Nigerians. Whatever brought
him
in should send him back and let Nigeria be. A city
without any hope, by this time in few months to come,
many are going to lose their jobs and there is no
alternatives, during the elections, Goodluck will
answer
Azikiwe and Ebele but after the elections, the
Goodluck,
the Ebele and the Azikiwe will vanish from his identity.
Who is fooling who? Look at our federal roads, we are
not even asking for new ones, roads built by Buharis
and Babangidas, the so-called Hausa people, cannot
be
maintained, follow Enugu here to go to Onitsha,
children born some years ago do not know again that
there was a lane along the other side of Nziagwu and
we are all saying continue continue, the continuity of
Jonathan means disaster. We need change.”
When a country's clergy conspires with a corrupt
government, they will ruin the ncation but when a
country's clergy speaks the truth to power, there will
be
change, a positive change. I know some kids
masquerading as adults will still call Father Mbaka an
APC member but that is their headache, the only
constant thing in life is CHANGE.

Renowned Enugu-based Catholic priest Rev. Father
Camillus Ejike Mbaka yesterday reversed his
support for President Goodluck Jonathan over his
inability to stop corruption and loss of innocent
lives.
He spoke while delivering a sermon tagged, “From
Good luck to Bad luck,” during the end-of-year
mass Wednesday night at the Adoration Ground,
Emene, Enugu.
Rev. Father Mbaka, Founder of Adoration Ministry,
Enugu said Jonathan has surrounded himself with
very corrupt public officials. As a result, he said,
the President has turned a blind eye to their
corrupt activities while millions of Nigerians suffer
daily in abject poverty and endless insecurity.
He said: “Jonathan has ruled for six years. We
need change. NEPA is not working because of
corruption. The privatization of public companies
has not yielded any fruit because of corruption.
“Jonathan surrounded himself with very corrupt
officers who advise him. Nigerians are sick and
tired of wasting innocent lives without government
doing enough to stop the destruction.”
He said he and millions of Nigerians were
disappointed by the government’s failure to
ensure the release of the Chibok girls kidnapped
by the Boko Haram terrorists over 200 days ago.
“Up till now, nobody knows the whereabouts of
the innocent Chibok girls kidnapped by Boko
Haram and we say we have a government that
cannot guarantee the welfare, safety and security
of the citizens,” he told the congregation of over
30,000 worshippers.
The cleric said he resisted delivering the sermon
which he said came from the Holy Ghost but that
God warned him to ensure the message was given
to the nation not minding whose ox was gored.
Fr. Mbaka recently anointed Mrs. Patience
Jonathan as the next First Lady in 2015. The First
Lady, and the Deputy Senate President Senator Ike
Ekweremadu worshipped at the Adoration
Ministry where the First Lady admitted that she
experienced “a spiritual rebirth.”
Fr. Mbaka that day released some birds that he
said would go and fight for Jonathan.
But on Wednesday night Fr. Mbaka said Jonathan
was going nowhere as far as next year’s election
was concerned, recalling that one of the birds –
which he released during Mrs. Jonathan’s visit has
refused to fly.
“All the other birds I released flew away but the
healthiest of them which is Jonathan’s bird could
not fly. I tried to make it fly but it could not fly,” he
recalled to a hugely excited congregation that
cheered him on.
When Jonathan was aspiring to become Nigeria’s
President, Mbaka said he was happy like other
Nigerians but that the bad luck which millions of
the citizens had faced since he came into office
was quite disturbing; hence the masses want a
change.
“Nigerians are calling for change. We need a
change,” he repeated. “We don’t want to move
from bad luck to bad luck; Nigerians want to move
from bad luck to good luck,” he said.
Fr. Mbaka criticised other priests who, he alleged,
visited the Presidential Villa and other
Government Houses in the country to hold
“Breakfast Prayer” with the politicians only to
collect fat envelopes of money rather than “tell the
politicians the level of hardship the poor masses
are suffering.”
He added: “The men of God only go there to dine
and wine with the leaders for their own welfare
without telling them the truth. But I’m happy that I,
Fr. Mbaka, I’m not that type of priest. If you want
money, I dash you money because the God I serve
has blessed me abundantly.”
Commenting on the presidential candidate of the
All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Head
of State General Muhammadu Buhari, Fr. Mbaka,
said Buhari cannot Islamise Nigeria as being
rumoured in some circles.
He said he had never met the General but recalled
that he fought corruption seriously as Head of
State.
“I don’t know Buhari. I have never sat with him
before. I am not being partisan, but I want total
change in Nigeria.
“Buhari cannot make Nigeria an Islamic country
because we are in democracy. It was IBB
government that dragged Nigeria into OIC. When
Buhari fought corruption, people became careful
about their actions. Anyone who says Buhari will
Islamise Nigeria is not being fair,” said Mbaka.
He added that he was not bothered whether the
next President would be a Northerner or Yoruba
or Igbo so long as the person fights corruption
and means well for the citizens.
“If a northerner will rule the country and
insecurity will stop, so be it. If a Yoruba man will
rule Nigeria in 2015 and we have peace and stop
the shedding of innocent blood, so be it. Nigerians
are tired of wasting innocent lives,” he said.
The end-of-year Adoration mass was attended by
some notable politicians from Enugu, Ebonyi and
Anambra States.
