omaojo1: Somethings are better left silent but think over this: why is the '13 numbers not out yet? If there is no convincing reason as to why (of which there is none), then it is better to stay aside. That guy go kill investors one day.Never too late, though early birds like yahoo and softbank will be smiling to the bank ,despite the dilution of their shares after the IPO. Institutional investors are really enthusiastic about the IPO,but the interest from retail American investors has been lackluster, despite the media buzz. My opinion - With more than 300 million registered users,a huge financial war-chest and a budding payment processor, it looks like we have the next Apple on our hands. |
omaojo1: Don't you just love this coyAlibaba! |
Has anyone seen Pa Ewumi? He's one guy I love reading from, never mind the long epistle |
Rocice: Pls any idea, wen firstbank wil start payment of dividends??I nid answers ASAP!!Dividends for which year?If 2013,it's been paid already (e-dividend and by post). If you don't receive it by post in the next 3 months, contact your registrar to issue a new warrant. |
mercylicious: hehehe my pastor has spoken. plz dont quote him.Madam is not smiling. Are there really available lands for large scale farming in anambra? |
Dexterax: My oga, I think you underestimate the risks to our dear economy, which I'd assume the foreign investors won't overlook.Dexter I quite agree with you that investing in emerging economies comes with attendant risks of which exchange volatility and currency devaluation tops the list - South Africa,Argentina ,India and even next door neighbor,Ghana comes to mind. Of course investors do their DD as we always say here. But in my lay opinion, based on current economic realities, investing in Nigeria is not in any way riskier than any of the above emerging economies listed - Foreign reserves is still sufficient, Oil exports has improved steadily in the last quarter and the CBN has allayed fears of currency devaluation in the near term. All these factors, added to growth rate (even though simplistic, which I agree to) should be sufficient to convince any hesitant investor that investing in Nigeria is a risk worth taking. |
Growth has really slowed in Europe.America is estimated to grow at about 4.2% in 2014 while Nigeria's projection stands at 6.2% -6.77%. It makes more sense to invest interest free "hot money" in Nigeria or rapidly growing economies, than elsewhere. |
Dexterax: Oga, this is Quantitative Easing. 99% purity.I dont think QE has taken on a new meaning or definition. |
Agbalowomeri: In the news 2 days ago, plus interest rate cutWell,ECB cut interest rates and announced a stimulus plan, but not QE in the strict sense of the word. Just culled below from telegraph. "Draghi announces programme to buy asset-backed securities (ABS) and covered bonds in Oct, but stays away from conventional QE" |
Agbalowomeri: Bear no fit near elastic stocks na. So u better buy the ones wey u wan buy. Otherwise while waiting na so boom............... bull don enter. I hope una see QE don commence for EU?Has QE commenced for eurozone? I think they are still deliberating. Anyway, when they eventually decide,we wouldnt like to see any of the "hot cash" on the Nigerian bourse -Equity valuations are becoming attractive with each bearish day. |
Yem0350: Pls, wich one is beta n faster? Bank confirmation of signature or transfer formIt depends on you, your stockbroker and registrar as the case may be. With the process transfer form,be rest assured that your broker will follow up and provide feedback within reasonable time since you are paying for the service (most stockbroking firms charge for the service, some HNI aren't charged as the amount pales in comparison) . Also note that the correspondence between established stockbroking firms and registrars are duly acknowledged and registered so cases of missing documents are quite rare. With the bankers confirmation of signature, you have to do the follow up yourself, which might be quite tasking depending on the numbers of registrars you need to deal with. It will likely take you a longer time if you decide to go this route. |
Yem0350: Good day house, did anybody knows ao much banks charged for bank signature confirmation?I paid GTB N1,800 the last time I got one from them.Don't know about other banks. |
BizBloke: [color=#000033]Ok. Maybe I should have asked for more clarification before purchase. Thank you. |
BizBloke: [color=#000033]CharlesNerd,Thank you. But this is not so clear to me,is the extra controller optional? On what grounds did ebay rule in his favour? |
BizBloke: [color=#000033]Hi, CharlesNerd.Thank you Bizbloke for the follow up,very commendable. Keep me informed. Thank you. |
nitrogen: I am very sure that they exited at a very good price (premium).Looks likely. Let me see if I'd locate the blog mercylicious was referring to. |
nitrogen: Bros, PE firms always have shelf life for their investments, they exit at the end, for Actis, I think it is six years, they can exit by selling the investment to another PE firm, sell to an HNI or some other way. Basically, they set a target return, and shelf life so to speak.Pardon my ignorance. If Actis had a shelf life of six years, its apparent their set target was not met ,taking into consideration the poor performance of the bank during the period. Is it possible Actis benefited from the partnership through other means?. Assuming there was no side benefits,it seems logical to extend the tenure of your investment at a period when the bank seems to be turning a new corner. |
http://businessdayonline.com/2014/08/kunoch-acquires-diamond-bank-stake-from-actis-cdc-group/#.U_cRPKNmi_0 Actis divesting from Diamond bank and Dozie family buying off their shares through its holding company ,Kunoch. A vote of no confidence?. Actis kept faith with Diamond bank through its dark period, why would they want to leave now, when the bank is supposedly positioning itself to join the league of Tier 1 banks?. |

BizBloke: [color=#000033]Hi, CharlesNerd.Ok .Thank you. If he does not reply in a day or two,we can raise a formal complaint.I believe e-bay has some form of buyer protection set-up. |
BizBloke: [color=#000033]Hi, CharlesNerd.Hello Bizbloke, Were you able to contact the seller with respect to the extra controller? Can you update please? thank you. |
Interesting convo.... You guys know the drill, pictures or we dont believe it ![]() |
BizBloke: [color=#000033]Hi, CharlesNerd.Thank you Bizbloke. Not just a feedback, but press for an extra controller, cos its pretty obvious I deserve to receive that as part of my shipment.Otherwise,I would have paid more for less. Please keep me posted on this. |

Portable123: from 2004 till 2014 I knew how many times gtb declares bonus .i just need assistant on how to calculate it.because I should be having 100315 take away 2800.now I should have 72315 but my broker said have got only 36000 which I don't believeHave you contacted your registrars?.If not, please do. In anycase, the amount of money involved is considerable to make out a day or two to visit your registrars physically and sort things out yourself. You'd be surprised to know what your broker is up to. |
Portable123: ,no 524,888 is the divedend paid.i only need to know the amount of shares bonusOk,I see. Please look for a broker with online presence, that would help you track your portfolio. |
Portable123: sorry the total is 524,885.78 thanks.have calculate it but still don't get it,sorry about thatYou mean your stockbroker paid you 524,885.78 for selling 28000 units of your GTB shares?. GTB has not traded for less than N28 since July 2014 which was when you asked for assistance on this thread. If sold at N28, you should have received N28 X 28,000 = N784,000 . Your broker must have skimmed over N200,000 off the top I believe you've got internet access so why dont you make these checks yourself? I hope I am wrong. |
BizBloke: [color=#000033]Hello Bizbloke, Below is the link to the sellers page. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sony-PlayStation-3-Slim-160GB-HDMI-Black-Console-NTSC-w-Controller-NEW-/321454307595?pt=Video_Games&hash=item4ad82b790b on the option for bundled items, the seller listed that he ships with an extra controller,I think that should be enough indication that I should have received two controllers, not one. Also, the item is listed as "new other" ,which means that it has not been used to be classified as a "used' item, but that's not the case. Thank you. |
Hi Bizbloke, I received the item today. I'd recommend you for delivering the items 4 days ahead of scheduled ETA,I believe you can do better. As per the delivered item, the seller did not include an extra controller as listed on his page and the only controller he shipped has a broken joystick- even the console is a thoroughly used item and not as he described,to think he's a top rated seller makes me wonder. Funny enough,my current console of over a year is newer than what he shipped .I know this is no fault of yours but I if I had purchased the product directly,I wouldn't hesitate to give him a very negative review. Thank you. |
