PoliticsShehu Sani Reveals Those Responsible For North Problems by CharlesPhc(op): 8:41am On Sep 29, 2014
The President, Civil Rights Congress of Nigeria, Mallam Shehu Sani, has said that 70 per cent of problems bedeviling the North are caused by ex-presidents and leaders of northern extraction.

The remaining 30 per cent, Sani said, should be attributed to President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration’s sectional leadership and neglect of the North.

The CRCN boss described as a “waste” the number of years ex-heads of state and presidents of northern extraction had piloted the affairs of Nigeria.

He argued that they had not only failed to empower the region but ruined it educationally, socially as well as economically.

He said the past leaders such as Gen. Yakubu Gowon, Shehu Shagari, Generals Muhammadu Buhari, Ibrahim Babangida, the late Sani Abacha, Abdulsalami Abubakar, as well as the late Umaru Yar’Adua, all from the region only left behind trails of poverty, discords among the people of diverse faiths and ethnicity rather than development.

PoliticsRe: Mainok Attack: Nigerian Soldiers Battle Boko Haram; 68 Feared Killed (PHOTO) by CharlesPhc: 6:29pm On Sep 21, 2014
unapologetic: Alloy Ikechukwu, a traveller from Lagos to Maiduguri, told journalists on Friday that he was lucky to survive the attack. He said a luxurious bus conveying him and several other passengers was passing through Mainok when the insurgents attacked the market.
“We boarded a luxury bus from Lagos and as soon as we arrived Mainok at exactly 1.30 p.m., we heard heavy gunshot from the western part of the market and sporadic gunshots followed,” Mr. Ikechukwu said. “Hundreds of traders and residents fled the market in confusion, running to cross the highway to the other side while vehicles passing through the town were also making attempts to flee the town. It was such confusion.”
Mr. Chukwu said he saw many of the fleeing residents hit by vehicles speeding off from the area.
“Vehicles were hitting one another and the Boko Haram kept shooting,” he added.
So there are still some 'Ikechukwu's' traveling to that part of the country in spite of all we are hearing?

Acelifted: Hi Nairalanders
My birth certificate has been missing for sometime. I have been using a sworn affidavit (declaration of age). Now I really need a genuine Birth Certificate for something (they will not accept the sworn affidavit). But I don't know where and how to go about this. Please any information on which office to visit and the processes involved will be appreciated.
Thank you.
Your only genuine Birth Cert. was the one you said is missing...!!! If your parents can still remember the hospital where you were born, they should refer you to the Doctor to issue you another Birth Cert (not sure if that is possible though) with proof (Sworn Affidavit) you misplaced the original one.

Meanwhile, in this Internet age, all your Certificates should be scanned and kept online...!!!

PoliticsObasanjo, Jonathan Hold Closed-door Meeting Over Boko Haram, Others by CharlesPhc(op): 6:21pm On Aug 27, 2014
ABEOKUTA-Former President Olusegun Obasanjo held a closed-door meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan over the problems of insecurity occasioned by Boko Haram attacks among others.

The meeting was reportedly held in Abuja in the early hours of Wednesday as the two leaders reportedly examined the level of insecurity in the country.

Vanguard gathered that the visit was on the invitation of President Jonathan at the Villa.

This occurred barely two days, after the former President commended efforts of the Federal and Lagos state governments on the efforts made to check the spread of Ebola virus.

Obasanjo had however, acussed the Jonathan administration of destroying the middle class like it occurred during the regime of late dictator, General Sani Abacha,

Confirming the meeting with Jonathan to newsmen shortly after he arrived in Abeokuta from Abuja yesterday, Obasanjo said the meeting was purely on security matters.

When asked to confirm the meeting, Obasanjo said, “Yes, I can confirm that I met with Mr. President on his invitation. In fact, he had wanted to come down to Abeokuta, but as a sign of respect to the Office of the President, I had to go. We had discussion on the country’s security issues and that is all.”

Obasanjo, who appreciated the invitation of President Jonathan promised that he would continue to make himself available on national issues in the interest of peace and progress of the country.

Speaking on the Eggon/Fulani crisis rocking Nasarawa state, Obasanjo called on the government of Benue and Nasarawa states to ensure that peace is restored to the warring communities.

He said, the two; Eggon (who are farmers) and the Fulani who are herders must understand themselves over the differences .

“There is no way, such will not happen, but the two state governments should come up with lasting solutions. The farmers would want their crops to be protected, while the cattle men will also want their castles to feed. So, the government should fashion out peaceful means to end the crisis,” Obasanjo disclosed.

Yes, but that depends on who the lion is fighting against. A lion that retreats in a fight against a goat is not a lion, its a goat in lion skin. A lion that retreats in a fierce battle with another lion would have first conceded defeat to retreat. Gov. Amaechi knew who he was fighting against that was why he retreated. Infact if Ateke Tom was not tipped of by the then Commissioner of Police (Who sadly is the current IG of Police) that Amaechi was coming, Ateke would have been a dead rat by now.

The Amnesty programme started in 2009 and most militants surrendered their arms to the State Governments/Commissioner of Police, only Ateke Tom surrendered his arms to Yaradua in a much publicized meeting.

PoliticsUS’ll Support Nigeria’s 2015 Elections -envoy by CharlesPhc(op):
The United States has promised to assist Nigeria in order to have credible and peaceful elections in 2015.

The United States Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. James Entwistle, who made the promise on behalf of his country, said that US was interested in peaceful elections in Nigeria.

He stated this on Wednesday in Abuja when he paid a courtesy call on members of the National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, led by its National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu.

Entwistle added that the United State would support Nigeria because of the long standing relationship between both countries.

He said, “From our own historical experience, we understand the importance of election. The United States will support the Nigerian people in their quest to ensure a credible and transparent election that they want and deserve.

“That is what we stand for and as part of that, I will try to be in touch with all parties to understand them, so that we can be knowledgeable about the electoral process here.

“I think it is incumbent on all of us to work towards this, history shows us that one election can make the difference. It may not happen over night, but genuine change in every society is only possible in a true democratic process.’’

The ambassador advised Nigerian politicians against violence during elections, which he said was threatening democracy across the world.

Entwistle encouraged potential party candidates to publicly commit themselves that “they would not encourage, foment or engage in violence before, during and after the elections.

He added that it was necessary for politicians to begin to make such commitments from now till the 2015 general election.

In his comment, Mu’azu said the party had always insisted in a free and fair election, adding that this was demonstrated with the conduct of governorship elections in both Ekiti and Osun States.

Apart from this, he added that President Goodluck Jonathan has continued to insist on one man, one vote which he said the party was proud of.

He added that in order to win elections and have the confidence of the voters, the ruling party would continue to present credible candidates for elective offices.

Mu’azu said, “We will always present credible candidates who can win elections. We will continue to provide internal-driven democracy that will be driven by the people.

“We will, by the grace of God, work for the people of Nigeria. Our leader, the President has through our party, been campaigning that voting should be one man one vote.

“We take time to advertise this in national dailies to make sure that we will continue to have cordial relationship with the people and the international community. “

PoliticsNigerians, Your Calls May Soon Be Monitored by CharlesPhc(op):
In view of the unstable security situation in the country, the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, says security agencies will soon commence monitoring of all calls to enhance their operational activities in the country.

The Commission announced this recently at a special edition of Consumer Outreach programme organized by the commission at IBB Golf Club, Maitama, Abuja.

According to the commission, plans are in the offing to come up with a guideline that will guide the take-off of the plan in such a way that no subscriber's right or privacy would be breached in the process.

Though, the Commission promised to ensure full protection of the rights of every consumer through the proposed guidelines, it however noted that there is no enabling law at the moment to guide the operators on such powers and called for a quick enactment of legislations to give the proposed guideline a legal backing by the time the implementation proper kicks off...

...According to the commission's legal adviser, Mrs. Yetunde Akinloye, "In view of the worrisome security situation in the country, the security agencies are about to key into peoples' conversation. We as a regulatory agency are coming with guidelines that will guide the operators on this. Though, at the moment, we do not have a law to guide how the operators should keep consumers privacy in conversation, we also need this guideline to enhance the smooth implementation of the plan."

This policy will be seen to its logical conclusion of making Nigeria an automobile exporting nation after our domestic demands are met in the same manner as we did with our cement sub sector. GEJ

The truth is always bitter.

Nope in December 2007 The Lion called Amaechi led JTF to storm the dreaded okuchiri shrine and chased Ateke Tom out of Okirika where the coward fled to Delta State and was living with that old Fo0l Edwin Clark before he relocated to Camp 5 to join his fellow evil twin Tompolo.
When camp 5 was bombarded by federal forces Ateke took refuge once again in Clarks residence before surrendering to Yaradua in Abuja on the last day of Amnesty saying he would rather die than surrender to the fearless Lion called Amaechi.
Hope this refreshes ur memory card.
The camps were bombarded by federal force not Amaechi's forces...!!! Pls tell us how Ateke or whosoever would have surrendered to Amaechi? That Amaechi was the head of the Amnesty program or what? Were militants suppose to surrender to their state governors? Like i said earlier, it was a cult war so perhaps he would rather surrender to the federal forces than give in to the rival cult group which your socalled fearless lion called Amaechi 'could' be a member of.
