I had previously stated that I'd ride oil till $73 (that is in the grand scheme of things, anyway) but my trading system depends on market structure and demand and supply. $100 proved to be a strong demand area causing a break of previous swing high at $109 (a short term buying opportunity may just be available now sha) so in the interest of business, I'm taking the profit so that I can sell again with it.

Indices seem to be following the same framework.

So this trade happened but my brain was in daytrader mode and i couldn't hold it out(I've never felt so much pressure...phew).

I need GJ to pull a miraculous 250 pip move tomorrow to make me that happiest lad in the block

To profit from the market,I believe a swing trader has to be open to choose several assets. This comes with its own discipline because having a large amount of asset at your disposal and personally choosing to trade a particular set is what is required to manage equity (this is different from hiding off some pairs so you "can't" see them or trade them) . This is like having a large buffet where you choose which food you want to eat instead of having a limited choice of food and consequently being "forced" to eat what is available.

The discipline involved helps you to not overtrade and consequently straining equity.

Swing setups take a longer period to complete and for the benefit of trading experience, I believe a new swing trader should spend more time with the market so that necessary mistakes can be made and strategies can easily be determined.

Using myself as an example, i have all the assets at my disposal but I choose to trade mostly jpy pairs, EA, usdcad,oil,US100 and probably gold. This has had it's impact on my experience as some of these are very volatile assets and i don't want to blow my account so I must be rigid with my risk management .

My win rate is still less than 50% but my account is not dead.
So, i hope you gerrit

I think strategy does choose the trader. Like how they say in the movies "the sword chose you to wield it" otherwise one strategy would be used by every trader and trading will be......BORING

At some point, i tried to understand this VSA thing but I guess I got too lazy and tired of new strategies. I was looking for a method to determine failed swings most especially on higher time frames (because of my trading style of course) but then i settled for EW though only the basic knowledge of it.

Good to see someone here knows the stuff.

Brother hmmmm .. i opened prop firm as of april . I'm sha very good making 1:3 to 1:17 on trades with a good profitable system..

I reach prop firm i dae fear to even take trade cos of the rules and the time bound . Cut the story short hmm i was lucky to get a reset and also last week i made a profit of 100usd tho risking 0.25% of my account.. 1:4 clean. If i would have used 1% risk na 400usd...

The issue is that the fear of noting stable at the moment makes one fear of taking the risk cos what if the account goes how then will one get fee to enroll for another.... I didn't take eu sell and eu buy .. i chicken out fear tho the trade setups were lit

The feeling is not new to me . I even embrace it. It's that feeling that comes when we start trading our first demo accounts as "newbies". We then carry it over to prop firm accounts even if you're good, there's this feeling of doubt and fear that you'll fvck up

But when you've stayed long in the system,there's then that relaxed feeling and you're emotionally balanced to take the risks as they come.

I took this trade in my smaller demo account and its all good. E reach for the prop demo, i come dey do; "let me be careful and look for reversal pattern" Well, long story short,market left my ass behind

I then remembered a quote; "if you're too careful,you'll be careless" Your system na your system abeg. My system is "find a POI,price gets there and gives you the candlestick, go gun blazing"

Now i go dey hustle trade tomorrow like daytrader because time go soon finish for the trials and I suppose win this one because e too important
