No, life has not dealt with me.

Even if life does deal with me, I would not kill myself over something I am not capable of achieving. I would look for something else I am capable of achieving.
Great mentality! Our mentality is a product of our upbringing, environmental input and personal experiences. His was different and I can't fault him for that even if I believe his action was too extreme.

Thank God this mentally unsound person was not allowed to be a doctor.

Secondly, is it not the norm in Nigeria (like in the UK and US) that if one is studying medicine, within the first few years they obtain a degree in another subject so that if they don't make it in obtaining a degree in medicine, then they have something to fall back on?
It is not the norm. I guess life has not dealt with you. You're probably privileged.

VanOmiyale:
Let me educate you a little a bit. When a student is asked to withdraw from a course, it is the responsibility of the student to collect a change of course form to another course. It has nothing to do with the school management and that is why they appoint student advisors for each student but unfortunately most students don't consult with their advisors. The school authorities has no blame in this matter the guy should have taken responsibilith for his own life.
In medical school, the proper thing was to have called him, told him, counseled him, and worked on him psychologically. I'm assuming they didn't do these. You don't allow someone to spend all these years only to see his withdrawn status on the notice board. Many of our schools are guilty of this. The feeling of emptiness that follows withdrawal from medical school at advanced levels is indescribable. You think of all the wasted years of hard work and feel like crumbling. If you're not mentally strong and/or have no one to encourage you, you may never recover. I'm speaking from experience.

Christianity Etc › Pastor Convinces Followers To Drink "Holy Milk" From His P***s. by Chartey(op): 3:09pm On Jul 19, 2015
And this pastor said his penis was blessed and that “the
Lord had consecrated with divine milk of the Holy Spirit”
and of course, had to go around evangelising.
“He convinced us that only God could come into our lives
through the mouth”, a follower said, “Often, after worship,
Pastor Valdeci asked us to do MouthAction on him until the Holy
Spirit came through ejaculation and delivered funds to the
church.”
Sobrino Valdeci Picanto, 59, was arrested in Apore, Goiás,
Brazil, for raping several women attending his church. He
gave as an excuse that his penis had been consecrated with
“divine semen of the Holy Spirit.”
Valdecir came to abuse some elderly, and defends himself
by saying that ‘he had an encounter with Jesus in a brothel
and gave him the mission of spreading the sacred semen
throughout the state, beginning with the faithful Apore
Assembly, of which he is responsible’.
Denise Pinheiro, delegate of the region, said, “Valdecir was
caught red-handed while rubbing his penis in the face of a
local merchant, which promised to make more sales in her
business due to the divine liquid.
When we acted Valdecir offered no resistance and even
asked if I wanted to be part of the kingdom of heaven on
the way to the police station.

Ghanaian Prophet, Daniel Obinim , was seen in a video
caressing a church member's penis to heal him of
impotence.
The unnamed man laid gently on a mat, but his facial
demeanor showed he was enduring some pain as the
popular prophet went about his unique healing process.
Founder and leader of the International God's Way Church,
Prophet Obinim, has gained notoriety over the years for his
inhuman and outrageous prophetic healing practices.
Last month, Deitrick Vaughn Haddon, American gospel
singer, rebuked him for stamping his foot on a pregnant
woman's bump in the name of her healing from her
misery.

Car Talk › Re: Man Who Got Burnt On 3rd Mainland Bridge Is Dead - PHOTO by Chartey(m): 7:08pm On Jul 15, 2015
lomaxx:
Usually I don't call people out on public forums. But I have to do this for this public show of ignorance.

Yes the Nigerian Medical system may be nothing to write home about. But in the case of this burns ,both of you are totally wrong.

I am more than 100% sure that this man died due to the compilations of his burns. Burns is a very tricky case. You who probably knows nothing about it thinks it's the cosmetic skin erosion that is the primary problem.

But you forget that at the scene of the incident this man must have probably inhaled toxic concentrations of carbon monoxide that would have started an acute respiratory system failure. This man, at the site of the incident not related to any medical intervention or the failure of it, was already predisposed to acute renal failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome, toxic pnemonitis, toxic levels of gases etc.

Finally, and most importantly, this man is at severe risk of sepsis. I'm very sure that's what killed him. With increased resistance to antimicrobials and the ineffective aseptic protocol already damaging the health system, this man is one of the least persons you would expect to survive.

Severe second degree burns, high risk of overwhelming sepsis with other concordant complications. Please give the health workers a break on this one. They're not miracle workers.
Don't mind them. They have no idea. Only God knows the kind of inhalational injury he had sustained.
