Run ooo.... Dont let them put rubbbish vaccines on your kids especially the MMR vaccines

First of all, there's nothing like MMR in Nigeria.
You mentioning it shows you've been getting information from a lot of foreign conspiracy theory groups that have nothing to do with Africa.

Second, the MMR vaccine in places where it's used, is one of the most effective vaccines that has contributed to the very low incidence of Measles, Mumps and Rubella in the countries where it's used. Most cases of the diseases they record there are among immigrants from poor countries in Asia and Africa (plus Nigeria), and people there who have refused to vaccinate their children.

It's this new CAF President Patrice Motsepe. He apparently has a Southern African agenda. The West African FAs should fight this nonsense that he's doing

my worry is this: the idea of 'clinic days' as practiced in government hospitals across the country, is it a global standard practice?? I ask because I feel it is not right! Early January this year, I had an accident that affected my right foot. I couldn't walk and was in great pains...I was to see a consultant but was told to 'wait till Monday as Monday was the clinic day for orthopaedic cases'....to add to the absurdity, when Monday came, I was informed that the consultant only sees 3 new cases each Monday!! It sounded so pathetic and ridiculous!!
It's a global practice.
Aside clinic, they have ward rounds for admitted patients, surgeries, academic activities and other engagements too. Those other engagements have their own days.

If it's an emergency, you go to the Emergency department or A&E. If it's not an emergency, you wait till your appointment date. It's the global standard and people can wait for months to get seen even abroad.

Nigerians should stop giving wrong answers to questions they know nothing about.

You don't even need to be married to a partner to get a dependent visa for them.

Go to gov.uk and read up everything about dependents on Tier 2.

How did you even apply for and get a Tier 2 without reading the guidelines and terms on the website? Or did someone do it for you?

Please confidently and sincerely show me a fresh doctor out of school earning 200k WITHOUT connections and I would give you a very big handshake for speaking on what you claim to know

Yes! He can save up and go out of the country to still study this same medicine

Is it after studying in that country your called Nigeria then he begins to earn peanut?

I know medical doctors who earn 80k, 100 or 120k

You are saying 200k

He is not a doctor and he is making more than or equal to a doctor

Please let him do what pleases him

This is my own opinion

You are also entitled to yours and you definitely have low insight

Don't think you know it all

House officers all over the country earn above 200k immediately after school before NYSC.

Even back in my time, it was close to 200k.

Family / Re: Doctor Couple Die As Fire Razes Home In Maiduguri (Photos) by Chartey(m): 2:44pm On Jul 07, 2022

This is so sad and shocking. It’s reported that the woman was setting up some local perfume called ‘turaren wuta’ which is burnt in charcoal while the husband tried to refil their generator tank with gasoline and the sparks from the burning coal met the fumes of gasoline, then the fire incident.
This is one of the negative results of bad public utilities, Maiduguri city has been without power from the national grid since January 2021 until a few months ago when some parts began to get power. Most of the city has been in darkness for over 18months now and people have to provide their power through generators and solar for those who can afford.
This is the second incidence I’ve witnessed in about 8 months. In the first, two young sons of a police officer died after a generator explosion in the barracks inside the police college maiduguri. How many more such incidences will we see before power returns to normal?
One can never be perfect but to be honest I limit my use of gasoline generator to mostly when I need to power the borehole to pump water. My battery lantern, power bank and car charger are sufficient for me.
RIP to the couple. cry

You really know Maid.
A city running on generators.

So he should go abroad without qualifications? To do what jobs? Na so e easy for the abroad.

When he can just focus and finish his medicine, go abroad much more easily, start working immediately and make serious money.

Family / Re: My Baby Is Being Strongly Affected By Jaundice, I Need Help And Solution. by Chartey(m): 9:15pm On Jun 29, 2022
shogotermies:

I was in ile-ife when my uncle's wife gave birth. When we got home, we realized he has jaundice. The solutions which grandma recommended, although she was a nurse but she used a combination of some home made solutions
1. You allow your baby get a glimpse of the morning sun, that one around 8 to 10am filled with VIT D, not the crazy sunrays in the afternoon oo
2. You get unripe papaya, you wash it well, you slice it with the bark, endocarp and seeds in it, and soak in water. The baby takes a teaspoon morning and night and the mom take a quarter cup of it daily.
3. To clear the yellow eyes, the mom would occasionally sprinkle her breast milk into his eyes.

I know these maybe dumb, but it was something I witnessed and it worked.
Please trying it is at your own risk and insult. But it works.

There are different causes of jaundice. There are also different levels of severity.
The cause and how serious it is will determine the kind of treatment. Most cases don't need serious treatment but the serious ones need the right treatment given very fast.
So how will they know if they don't rush to the hospital first?

An average Borno graduate knows far more about the labour market and probably has experience already before finishing school due to exposure to many different international organisations present there.
Someone graduating with a B.Sc in Biology probably already knows about Logistics and Supply chain, Information mgt, Human Resources etc even before graduation due to volunteering with one or two NGOs. A graduate elsewhere in Nigeria has probably never heard of some of these fields.

This same Borno that has people from different parts of the world walking in the streets?

I read it, just thinking outside the box here. If you've been to Makoko, you'll know how terrible mobile reception is in that slum. Calling such an ambulance in an area like that will take a lifetime.

You still don't get. It's not an ambulance, it's a clinic just like the normal clinic you walk into when you're sick. Just that this one is mobile and in water unlike other mobile clinics on land. Emergency response can be integrated into it but that's not the main service

There's no test called blood work in medicine.
It's a loosely used term for routine blood tests.
Still doesn't achieve much when there's no prior clinical (at least provisional) diagnosis.

So you're saying it's unnecessary for her to find out what's insider blood?

How do I even start?
There are more than 100 different types of blood tests. How would she know which is relevant?
A lot of skin conditions don't even need any blood test, at worst she may need what we call a biopsy to check the kind of cells in that place. That's done by a type of doctor called pathologist.

The point I'm making is that you don't just get up and go to a lab. Most times, it's waste of time and money because whatever test you do may not be relevant to your condition because a doctor didn't see you to decide what test you would need, that's even if you need a test at all.

There are hundreds of skin conditions with different treatments.

Also there's nothing like "natural". Everything in this world including our bodies are all chemicals and are all from nature.

In 7 days you will see all this cleared with a glowing skin looking good

You've not made a diagnosis, you're prescribing treatment. What is wrong with her first of all? What's the cause? What are the complications if left untreated? What's the cost - benefit analysis of the treatment?
Are you a magician?

I believe she should go do a lab test first.

The result of the test will tell him what to get from the pharmacy.

She can't just go to a pharmacy directly.

They need to find out the underlying cause.

Both of you are wrong? Lab to do what there?

The first thing is to see a doctor, not lab or pharmacy. A doctor then may then decide to request for a test relevant to the provisional diagnosis or may not even need a test at all.

You may feel the urge to say it isn't your mother tongue...but as long as you make use if it here, you ought to put it right.

Otherwise, write in your native tongue.

Both are correct. "Heart-rending" is even more conventionally used. "Rend" means "to tear" and it's used figuratively this way.

If it was me I will ask her to define whatb"systems" mean then proceed to tell her nobody not even the greatest physician can do that in a 15min interview and if she can you'd be happy to learn from her/them/him.

It is important the person being interviewed shows some self worth and walk away if they ask dumb ass questions.

Rubbish people. Everybody wan they do power tussle

Because it's a medical organisation. Though I also don't see it as very relevant to whatever job he'll be doing but it's not totally out of place considering the context.

PS: The major systems in the body are few, actually.
