Virement means the transfer of a surplus from one account to cover a deficit in another. I do not know where the President requested additional funds outside the appropriated amount. I will not comment on the sincerity of the so called APC. If actually Buhari and Okorocha are the chosen ones, the logic behind it is very simple. The only problem I have with this is how ACN decided not to have the VP slot. The fact remains that Buhari is the man that can get the highest number of votes from the north among the opposition camp. The calculation is that PDP is most likely to present Jonathan. With this, a substatial percentage of votes from the north goes to APC. The ACN (if they are still part of the APC) will deliver the South West for APC. A small percentage of the votes from the South East will go to APC. While PDP will take the whole of South South and a substantial percentage of votes from the South East. Lets wait for the reactions the posters will generate. It might be another plot from the PDP or politicians within the APC. 1 Like |

It is unfortunate that we run our country this way. Ihejirika did not start it. It has been like this for ages. This unfortunate trend must be checked as it is against the spirit One Nation. Tribalism is killing this country. This happens in our agencies and parastatals. All the geo-political zones in this country are guilty of this. It is all about my people and my people. A friend narrated how her organisation (public organisation) management changed policies to favour staff from the Chairman and DG or MD region (both from the same region). All these they did to ensure that staff from other regions were not given grade levels above their people level. They terminated the recognision of professional qualifications e.g ICAN because their people are not likely to have the qualification. This is rather unfortunate!May God help us |

Why are we so sentimental and gullible? We believe stories without sources. Someone said people were celebrating and could not attach a picture yet we believe it without finding out. Some people wrote that they were in Kaduna that they could not see any sign of celebration yet some people continue to rain abuse on others. It is unfortunate that we have to pass through all these hardships in our country when our leaders are busy squandering our resources. We were cajoled into accepting the new electricity rate that things would be better afterwards. Unfortunately, things are getting worse. We accepted the partial removal of oil subsidy.Yet our situation has not improved. The tax we pay to various arms of government is throat cutting, yet we are not getting anything in return. The only thing they can do is to tell us we should be ready to pay more e.g toll fees on fed roads etc. It is unfortunate! |

It is true that Ajimobi is the Governor of Oyo State as a whole not Ibadan. The last administration did not do much in Ibadan hence,the need to start in Ibadan. Moreso Ibadan is the Capital of Oyo State. Gov. Alao Akala concentrated on his area. Ajimobi should be commended for this great job. He should note that it is only his performance that will help him achieve any ambition he has on 2015. Even if he does not nurse any ambition,he will be respected for his achievements. |

Congrats Mimiko! I am very happy with the result of the election. I am sure that ACN would have learnt a lot of lessons from the outcome of Ondo election. The overbearing influence of Tinubu with the ACN and its members will soon lead to the end of ACN. There is no doubt about the fact that he built the party. However, he must tread softly to prevent the house he built with so much intelligence and foresight from crumbling very soon. Tinubu's will is the will of ACN. Tinubu needs to understand he cannot have his way all the time. He should understand that he is titled to just a vote ( one man one vote). Tinubu is fast becoming a bad market. He needs to watch it or else he will lose everything. He should allow his party to be and be seen to be truly democratic. Enough of kangaroo party primaries for selecting candidates. I don't have any problem with Akeredolu. It is just that he is still a rookie and should not have been picked to face a sitting Governor. The circumstance that led to his emergence was faulty. Some members of the party were not happy. They needed a grassroot politician to face Mimiko but not a rookie. My advice to ACN Governors is to give real dividend of democracy to their people. Reelection these days is purely on merit and performance. It is not all about party. 2 Likes |
