Yea I did, I wrote a supervisor who agreed to supervise me. How's ur friend doing? Hope he got someone willing to supervise him/her? What's his bsc/msc background?am waiting for decisions so could have options to pick from anyways btw. U of C and MUN. Congrats once again

Minimum of 4 months statement of acct. Your uncle can sponsor but also add your own acct statement and job details to serve as evidence of home-ties. Cheers.

Since your pssport expires march 2016. You should use it for your visa appl. You can renew when you arrive canada. 6 months to validity expiration is the period allowed for renewals. Cheers

Because the immigration lady says she can give me same biodata but it will come up as a brand new and not renewed passport which means I will take a headshot again, my worries can I use it for my application at the beginning of next month?

U can if its 6months or less left to expire. But be aware that before IMM giv u d new passport the wil cancel without prejudice the empty pages left on ur old passport (officially shaa) but i am sure u can sort that out. When is ur old passport going to expire?

You can renew your passport in canada then subsequently renew your visa. Cheers no stress. You can only renew your passport 6 months before its expiry.

Hello guys.

I got a call for the passport request yesterday. There was one of the criteria as "Your passport must be valid for the duration of your expected length of stay in Canada."

My passport expires December 2016 while the program ends May 2017. Has anyone been in this before who can advise if i need to renew it before giving them the passport or not. If yes, I will need info on how to process the renewal of the passport please. Your quick response will be appreciated. @valeriann @Bobola86

Use your current visa. You can renew it. At the naija embassy in ottawa. You can also renew your visa after you av renewed yur passport. Cheers

I want to know if I can apply and get my study permit and if I can renew over there without coming to Nigeria, if yes, will my Visa exceed expiry date of passport? And will I get an extension on the new passport if i am able to renew over there in Canada. A lady at the immigration service said she can help get me a fresh one and not renewal because it's not yet 6months to expiry when they are only authorized to renew passports but someone says I can't apply with a fresh Passport that's not 6 months old..Please anyone with ideas on this? Is it possible to travel with a fresh Visa as I intend to apply for Study permit the month end or do I apply with my old one? Thanks

It is called statement of purpose or letter of explanation. It basically states the reasons for your choice of program and country (Canada), your educational or professional background aand how it relates to the course and what you plan to do post-study. Cheers.

@mrnilobrawn, any idea why paper route is this slow. My app is 25 days old. Online routers are already getting medical invites within a week.

May 4 start date. I feel more comfortable with paper route due to the docs I had to submit. Tho its slow. 25 days now compared to 1 week for online routers.

I applied this january too. Paper route. No decision yet. Its well for us all.
