Hello all, I know this has been addressed here,but I haven't seen any recent comments on it. I got an invitation to apply from Skillselect for Petroleum Engineer. I want to add my wife and daugther to my application, considering the huge costs, job opportunities over there etc, is this a worthwhile venture? Am like scared and overwhelmed when I begin to think of the uncertainties, finances that will go into survival before job comes, travel tickets, housing, medicals etc. I need a firsthand advice. Expecting a response!

Yes. Will use IOM Australia for a prompt response. Just dont know if that will nvolve paying in Aussy dols like DIBP fees or naira!

My transit time in dubai is less than 2hrs 30mins hence there wont b need for accomodation. IOM provide assistant in dubai is need be.

Just get your ticket.....worry not
Plus u will b giving extra 10kg (40kg total)

You can as well use IOM Australia, someone just got Lagos-Dubai-Adelaide with Emirates for US $1045.

Someone on here has a free space in the apartment he lives for $150/week including utilities. Temporary accommodation is solved. However, I do get response from some people I contacted on flatmates.

IOM takes forever to reply but I have other option. If you route your journey using mulitple airlines through Turkey, the ticket is cheaper.. The last time I checked to Adelaide was 240k

Applied Jan 27, against Feb 2 resumption CO requested for extension letter from my educational provider, bcoz of time frame school diferred me to July 15.
My CO repplied that my visa will b finalised 4 months prio to my resumption date which is march 18.

God is truelly residing in OZ.... We shall recieve our heavenly blessing in that fruitful country.

I tried most schools in Australia and they always tell me that they don't accept direct application from Nigeria that i should go through an agent. Please can anyone suggest a nice schools for me in Australia that accept direct application and also do QUT accept direct application.?.... Please helpful contribution from the houx. Thanks

Naaaaa...just your Naija license. You need to take a written test though, and then a practical test. The written test is not hard, as long as you study the material...I passed mine in one go. Also, even if your licwnse is expired, but by not more than 2yrs, you can still convert it...just that you will have to spend $130 on a learner's permit to take the test.

The sockets are different here oooo. So be ready to buy a converter adaptor...$14. Also, ensure you bring AV and RF cord for TV, just in case the house you rent does not have it. AV cord that is sold for N200 or so, is over $30 here...while the cheapest RF is $19......imagine!!!

Got a job with Telstra y'all, training starts Monday....entry level position, but still something to get my foot in the 'Australian Experience' Door.....peace!

No foodstuff o, just peppersoup spice and knorr cubes. I was told to go to one side, stood on a queue and a dog just passed by all of us on the queue.

No bags searched, just basic questions like what do I have there...dazall! Guess cos I declared it, and they were not meat or chicken products.

If you can bring foodstuffs, and not have excess baggage, I would advise you bring. Even with all my oyinbo-forming , I am still finding it hard getting used tothe food here. Wish I brought foodstuffs to ease me into the food culture here, but there was no space at all.

I just tried to make mince meat sauce, and the tomatoes are tasting somehow, even after spicing it plenty! Maybe will try another type of tomatoes next time sha, cos these ones were the cheapest ones there...but they were bright and red like Naija tomatoes though.

I was given a negative assessment for Metallurgist but was told my experience is more suitable for a Metallurgical and Materials Technician and i could apply for a reassessment. what should i do? I am thinking a Masters degree will be necessary but will having a PR(just in case i apply), reduce the fees and give me the Engineering status?

The law graduate must first be admitted to practise by any of the States as a Lawyer. The process is a little bit long because it includes minimum of three months course before being admitted.

S/he can apply for the Canada Express entry Visa as a paralegal person. It is cheaper and faster.
