Is it true that a pregnant woman shouldn't eat anything cooked with bitter leaf or scent leaf (nchanwu, efirin) and that she must not eat any hot food/water? A pregnant friend of mine has stopped cooking with these because she said it will wash away the pregnancy, she only uses Ugu leaves.

Also, can the use of sewing machine affect pregnancy, whether manual or electric?

Op, do you have overlocking serger machine for sewing? Or industrial weaving machine? And how much is it? Thanks

Good evening pretty mamas. Update on my case. I went for the scan today and everything is fine. No retained products of conception. Except for a tiny cyst which my gynae friend said will likely resolve on its own. Prescribed Cefixime and flagyl antibiotics. I am glad I didn't hurriedly agree to subject my body to the evacuation just because my ex-gynae insisted without even examining me. Thanks to you all here, your encouragement strengthened my resolve . I attached the result. And that miscarriage chapter is finally closed. Back to ttc club now. Kpekusing on point

Thanks feddy22 for your advice. You are right in a way. Zaynie, you nailed it. We can learn from our pain. In my experience, I've seen that there are doctors and there are 'doctors'. Its God that will help us to meet the right ones. Some drs are ready to go the extra mile, some are not patient enough and just want to take advantage. May God help us to always come out victorious no matter what.

So I went to see the gynae yesterday. He didn't even check me. When he checked my card and I explained what happened, the bleeding, the clots. He just said it's an incomplete miscarriage and I should come to his own specialist clinic for evacuation the next day. No explanation, nothing. He gave us his card, wrote address, that we should come with plenty money. I asked him that what could have caused it, that will he check me to see if it's complete or not. He said I shouldn't ask too much questions, that even in England, when he talks they listen bla bla bla. *England ko, Egbeda ni, mtschw* That my husband should come too, so that they will check him too and do sperm test and analysis. That until we come to his clinic and pay before he can go further in doing anything with us. That card is N2000 & we shd call him later in the day for him to tell us the price of other things. And that was all. His attitude was just so unpleasant. Just seemed to be about the money. We just left. Nonsense. Am I not a patient? After paying consultation fee, cant you explain anything to me? Dh was so pissed he tore the man's card to pieces. I left that office more upset than when I entered. If not for the explanation from this thread, I'll just be confused. I called a family friend who's a gynea but based in Federal Hospital, Umuahia & explained everything. And he said, at this point, the gynae doesn't need to check my hubby, that its in case of infertility, which is not the case here. That the gynae suppose to check me i.e pelvic exam and send me for scan to check if there is any remaining tissue. But that from my explanation, he almost feels that I have expelled everything and no need for evacuation but that next week I should go and do a scan to check if there's any remaining tissue. If there is, that's only when evacuation is needed. I just came home and slept jare.

I just tire o. I'm never going back there!

I'm not against evacuation. I know two friends who each had miscarriage, one needed evacuation, the other didn't need it. They're both pregnant with their second baby. So I know that evacuation is not automatic after miscarriage. But if need be, I'm willing to do it for my rainbow babies but not under someone who wants to take advantage of me. Meanwhile, I will do another scan next week to know how far while I search for another hospital.

Mitchyy, please give me directions to Vigor Hospital.

Anyone who can direct me to any good hospital around the island, Ajah, Lekki area. Has anyone used General Hospital, Akodo? How is it please?

Someone suggested RJolad at Gbagada, but the distance... But if worse comes to worst, I have no choice. Those using it, please how is it? Antenatal, gynae stuff, price etc

Also, please mamas who had blighted ovum or miscarriage, did they do sperm analysis for your Dh before you conceived again?
