True. Coz when you supplied me granite of 30 tons at my different site locations. I was very impressed. It was very full to standard. Am like Check it out with other suppliers I used before. The difference was there.

The quote of some engineers here was very scary and as such if i had kept looking at it , i tell u I wouldnt start this project , from professional fees to material needed . This structure is on half plot of land i gez, if you hv used more than 30tons Granite to dpc level you are ripped off.your decking will consume 45tons Granite, 30tons Sharp Sand, 4tons iron rod, 130-140 bags of cement

Granite is poured in my presence in from my compound as its fenced and hv houses already built in between, am on ground all thru the whole process,

Cement ripping off, vehicle that want to take cement bring use bag when they understand that is what u know. they sell buy securities break barrier. Painfully they use 2 or 3bags for what a bag will do. on delivery you may be rip of just counting surface while d did is done inside..

Ma, the originator of building can't & will not know...your engineer or whoever is incharge is a smart person. get clear dimensions & kingpost length, lots of roofer will give you measurements here.

Crazy things happen with these 3 things, supplier can short the quantity is a team work with yoir iron bender, Cement big stealing b4, during & after delivery (all worker deal), Granite overall you can get 15tons as 30tons(can you count? No)

The name Check-it-Out was from a satisfying client an igbo-man, after receiving goods(Granite) saying "una men Check it out." i went home coined it to Chekitaut same meaning different spelling.

We talked and I showed him pictures of some of my jobs which he really liked. What happen to be a problem now is that he's scared of trusting a total stranger which is totally valid knowing how Nigeria is. But I know myself and I know that I don't live like that. I have worked for someone here on Nairaland and supplied to him down to Lagos from Nnewi. I happen to also sell mobile devices here to Nairalanders. These events were based on trust and none of them complained in any way.

I beg that you guys help me convince him that it's possible to trust someone especially me. I intend to create a thread where everyone will follow up on the situation of the job until completion and supply.

Not true, if access to source is hard(access road will be bad during rainy season. it will only be expensive.

So my project is a 2bedroom flat 2unit up and 2unit down and now before they do the German floor the engineer said he will bring his plumber and electrical guy to come start the work as it’s going to be a conduit building.
So I need advice as regard how much i can bargain with the electrical and plumber guy to do the whole building because I am sure the person that started should be the one to complete it definitely.
So how much should it cost to do the whole electrical and plumbing work of the whole building of 2unit of 2bedroom up and 2unit of 2bedroom down making a total of 4unit,
I will sincerely appreciate your advice nairalanders.

Make payment & negotiate in phases, only plumbing is required in dpc, floor drain alone, at lintel or decking stage electrician can do piping.

Hello everyone.Please I need help.There is this land my husband bought from a woman last two years.The woman bought it 11 yrs ago from Baale and was issued a receipt bearing Baale's compound name...she did foundation on it.Now when omoonile heard that we are coming to start something there...they quickly went ahead to put fence and gate saying the land is for their father and had sold it to one man before the woman bought it which is a pure lie..please what is the best way to handle this is the only document we have is the receipt from Baale and deed of agreement with the woman..Baale didn't deny the payment made to him.. Baale said he sells lands in that locations on behalf of the family and that the he gave the senior son of the family the payment which they are aware about.

Madam take the case to the king with your lawyer. they can go as far as buried log of wood or banana branch on the land to scare u off. i pray the woman that sold is still alive.

all GTBank roof will be leaking too, because i know flat roof is their concept and no bank structure in Nigeria can stand shoulder to shoulder with them. The roofer did a bad job.

That's my battle with my wife right now. People see those two pillars as sign of big building.

I don't like it at all. Contemporary houses do not have those pillars. I don't know why Nigerian architects are so obsessed with the pillars.

My wife has castigated our building because I didn't include the so called pillars and made comparison to other ones within my estate with pillars.

She said the front looks empty and unattractive without the pillars. So, me and my site supervisor are now trying to elect the so called pillars.

I have been searching to see a possible aesthetically appealing design that I could adopt and not the regular designs I see here.

It is not needed, and it does nothing for the duplex or any building... and there are plenty duplex without them. People just like them for aesthetic (beauty). Even they have them for many bungalows too.

To add to this, is a traditional way to duplex but we have many contemporary building this days, so many architecture are presently facing it out. Understanding that contemporary design last the taste of time compare to the traditional methods.

All still stand that what some architecture know is what they know they do not want to upgrade with use of many software and apparatus.

If you agree with me no more big rooms now, what you see more is small space beautiful structure. 3bedroom mostly on duplex not the normal tradition, normal tradition are one bedroom flat or 2 bedroom flat, many women live "me & my husband alone" for Commercial apartment.

I would like to start building my house next month but the problem is the weather as we all know it's raining season. The builder advised me to go ahead with the project irrespective of the weather that he's got it covered.

Do you guys think this is really possible I mean building a house(From foundation level) during this raining season? It rains almost every day in my area. Won't the cement wash out or lead to a poor foundation?

Please advise as I'm not too sure here if the guy is just looking to get paid.

All depend on tyoe of foundation you adopt, building format, every building format with is weather that makes ot conducive for construction.

Eg. if pad foundation it will require excavation, if rain disturb dry mix is required, .If raft after surface blinding sand is monitored to avoid failing the concrete thereby regular flushing during process of pouring concrete.

The rain will seriously help during back filling,
