Where I come from in the West, no one does DPC for dry lands when building bungalows. Most of these houses have been up for decades.

Read lines, If you are on dry land no need dpc.

Pls I just want to confirm if DPC(or oversite concrete) is compulsory in a simple 3 bedroom bungalow. It is on a dry land.

I have seen different views online and I would like to know from the house pls.

If you on a dry land no need only maintain a chain lintel.

If you are on a waterlog area do a 3inches dpc with damper proof.

Wood is high, Iron rod the most unrealistic or stable price. Vibrated block with stonedust will be high too, Marine board is 8,600 today,
the only item that is constant now is Cement @2,580.

White wood for concrete 1x12x12 board(sawmill) is sold @N1300today transportation to site excluded.

The price of wood has not really increased that much I'm a wood dealer in Delta State and currently wood price has dropped..

The above suggestion are nice but I don't believe it has come to that.

Ppl that need wood are in Southwest you recommending from Delta kindly give price from Delta. i may come lift wood.

That's my line of thought. They gave me an outrageous bill of N550,000 for planks only for decking 29m* 6.5m floor slab. This exclude Carpenter's labour, iron bender, engineer's supervision cost, plumbing, and electricals in the decking. Hence, the bill for only decking, excluding Cement, reinforcement, sand and granite came to N1.5m.

I told them, I will never spend N550,000 on planks that cant be used for kitchen cabinet or doors. Never.

I will rather rent all for between 50,000 to 100,000 than waste almost 600k.

Let me help u, what is the size of decking? i will give you new marine board full sheet @ half price then take away after use. No cutting, 4nails on each board. you get wood 4 beam from 1x12 you buy.

Wood is difficult in market now. i doubt if u will see only if you hv a construction site near you, Carpenter will delay service if he is to bring wood & you will hv to buy damper proof to get good result.

You will need 62 flat sheet of marine board.

Guarante security to fund.
