With regards to the cerci vs Adel arguement, it's a no brainer really. Cerci in additional to having a much better understanding of Serie A is simply the much better player. Period!

Adel reminds a lot of jay jay in his younger. All skills and showanship, little to nothing end product. He'll suit the likes of Genoa,Palermo et al not the might that is Milan

coogar: kohler my foot!
you want to compare ultra fast strikers vidic & rio had to face in their time to the slow, laboured strikers of kohler's time?

go & watch barca vs man utd(home & away) in 07/08 season again and see how rio ate the combo of messi + etoo + henry single-handedly for 180 mins without conceding.

it was the best individual defensive performance in the history of champions league. united won that champions league unbeaten & it started a 25-game unbeaten run against some of the toughest teams in europe.

kohler ko, collar ni.
Abeg which legendary ultra fast strikers did Rio and Vidic have to deal with? Abi is it not the same Vidic that kept being undressed by Torres everytime they faced each other? Vidic and Rio were indeed very good but definitely not better than the Great man himself. Staying with Kohler, No league will ever reach the level serie A was in the 80s/90s when Kohler played there and he was one of the very best during that period(top 3 centre backs)

Best individual performance in the CL history against a Barca side in transition! A barca side that finished a massive 10points behind the second placed villareal in the duopply that is La Liga not so? That says a lot doesn't it? Thank goodness we all saw how Vidic got undressed yet again by another ultra fast striker the following season in the CL Finals.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chic2pimp(m): 7:11pm On Jul 22, 2014
coogar: you are a fool!
no defensive partnership was hailed as the best in the entire europe in the last 20 years like rio/vidic or terry/carvalho.

rio & terry are both english defenders and they are 1 million times better than boateng or any german defender that has lived in the last 50 years.

boateng is not better than shawcross. he's just a lucky git that naturalised in a country where defenders are as scarce as platinum. boateng?? mtchewwwwwww - he would sit on the bench for dawson.
LOOOOL..... BOTH ARE BETTER THAN JURGEN "ONE MAN ARMY" KOHLER ABI?

logica: That was why I say you don't know how to read plays. The wingers' runs were enough to worry and confuse both the Belgians and English. And it almost worked out exactly the same way against the Germans as well; only this time he decided to make a through pass to Burruchaga after having left 2/3 Germans in his wake for the 3rd goal.
.
What play do I need to read mbanu?...... Maradona ran straight at the heart of belgian defence and you are telling you it was his team mates that caused the confusion and commotion? He decided to make the through pass because he knew that was the most sensible thing to do at that point.

logica: Once again, Maradona did NOT have an average Final. People like you only measure performance with goals. I was using the same metric you guys used to measure Maradona in the 1986 Final. And in the Final, which once again I watched live, Maradona definitely did not have an average game. And neither did Messi.
Where did you hear me he had an average final? He had an average finals when compared to his QF and SF exploits was my statement. And he certainly did. It's not even up for debate. And btw Diego did not have a great finals but it was much better than Messis.

Whether you watched it live or watched the replay on Jupiter or Saturn is off little relevance here....

ddippset: -in 1970 pele scored 4 goals, his team mates scored 16 goals.
- in 1986 maradona scored 5 goals , his team mates scored 9 goals.
-in 2014 messi scored 4 goals, his team mates scored 3 goals;
The business end is what counts the most.....

coogar: your memory needs protein.
ferdinand was the best defender in the entire league in 12/13 season. he was in the PFA team. smalling's development took a hit when he was being played as a RB cos he couldn't get ahead of rio/vidic axis. as a central defender, there's no english player better than him sef. he's extra solid!
So it is now Smalling is a better central defender than Cahill? As this rate Smalling will be rated higher than Tony Adams sef.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by chic2pimp(m): 12:28am On Jul 16, 2014
ddippset: bros leave maradona, we agree maradona is better than messi, talk ronaldo.
loool.....I talk say Maradona better ni? Wetin I talk nah Mara in 86 had a better tourney than Messi in 14..

Wetin be my concern with Ronaldo? I resemble Madrid or United fan ni? Abi I resemble one of his fan boyz?

Or is it clear for all to see Messi had the much better world cup?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by chic2pimp(m): 12:20am On Jul 16, 2014
logica: If you can ask me "which wingers he used" I don't think I even need to "argue" with you again. I watched the games live, and even today I still check the clips. If you don't know how to look for the videos (and I doubt that will even help you because I doubt you know how to read a game or play) I cannot help you.

Secondly, if all it takes to perform in a WC Final is to make one assist, then I can name many more names who "performed" far better than Maradona.
No be only you sabi watch clip. Mesef don watch am. You really do need to watch it again. Maradona needed no wingers to act as decoys as he waltzed through the belgian and English defence. That was all him.

His performances up that point were astounding. Although he had an average finals compared to his 2 goals heroics in the QF and SF games, He still proved decisive.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by chic2pimp(m): 11:45pm On Jul 15, 2014
logica: Uh huh...with 2 goals if he was playing handball combined with football. Yes, his "best goal of the century" even got plenty of assist from his wingers whom he used to distract the English all the way to the goal.
Handball or not, He was the best player on the pitch that day.
Which wingers did you see him use to distract the English? .

logica: As in above, his wingers useful runs contributed.
Again I ask which wingers?

logica: Long and short, the contribution of Valdano and Burruchaga cannot be underestimated. If Messi only had one winger in their mould (like Di Maria) in the Semi-Final and Final, then we can compare to Maradona.
If's and but's ........All hypothetical situations. Fact remains whilst one performed, the other failed to.
