fair point, however Zidane played in  la liga as well and I dare say he had a better career (performance wise) at Juve

the fact that ronnie outperformed zidane in la liga, more significantly, in the galatico era when zidane was sorrounded by

Ibra is a very good player, just not worth the 70 milla una pay for am, and doesnt offer the flexibility that Eto'o did. With Ibra, the front three are not able to interchange as easily as they did with Henry, Eto'o and Messi, making their attack a bit more predictable.

Pep seems to be experimenting with a 4-2-3-1 formation to try and get Ibra into a more traditional CF role and give messi more flexibility. In the games he has tried it, it has been unsuccessful. Stuttgart nearly killed them in the first half (he reverted to 4-3-3 in the second) and they struggled against Almeria. The key problem being that Messi is not a trequartista and playing through the middle simple takes away from his game. He should stick to the 4-3-3 till the end of the season and hope for the best.

Between 2002-2006 Ronnie was excellent for both club and country. he may have fallen off a bit, but he was exceptional at the peak of his career
