WHEN WILL THE INFANT NIGERIAN STATE GROW AND MATURE? IN THE DEVELOPED WORLD, CONCERNED AUTHORITIES WOULD FIRST OF ALL CONTACT THE NEXT OF KIN, NOTIFY THEM OF FATALITIES BEFORE RELEASING NAMES TO THE PRESS. NO MEDIA OUTLET PUBLISHES THE NAMES OF THOSE INVOLVED IN FATAL INCIDENTS UNTIL THE NEXT OF KIN HAVE BEEN DULY INFORMED. ANOTHER PROOF THAT NIGERIA IRREDEEMABLY REMAINS A FAILED STATE. SO SAD! |
francisj: What Will Do If You Discover That A Friend (Someone You Met 6 Years Ago Friend During Your NYSC) Have Fake Your Credential (Without Your Knowledge ) And That Person Is Working Now With An Agency Of The Federal Govt. Abuja. The fact that the above piece was written by a university graduate leaves much to be desired, perhaps of the Nigerian educational system and its products. Shame! |
Cultured: It is an irony that majority of the guys commenting on this thread are " educated illiterates" . The article stated it clearly that " Part II will feature the Top 10 Universities in South Africa, a country that is home to enough academic heavyweights to populate its own list” , yet some of the commenters above still questioned the reason why South Africa universities are not included, thus pronouncing the ranking as fake.ABSOLUTE RUBBISH! KEEP DELUDING AND DECEIVING YOURSELF. APPARENTLY, YOU'RE THE BIGGEST 'EDUCATED ILLITERATE' HERE. WHAT KIND OF RANKING AND CLASSIFICATION PURPORTS TO LIST THE TOP 10 UNIS IN A CONTINENT YET EXCLUDING A SPECIFIC REGION - SOUTHERN AFRICA. YOU'RE AN ABSOLUTE M0R0N. PERIOD! |

1. Too many spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors in print reporting. None (and I mean none) of them is free from this. 2. Lack of advanced questioning techniques. Cf. Grilling interview techniques used on HardTalk programme on BBC News 24 or by, for example, John Snow on Channel 4. 3. ON TV, the quality of broadcasting belongs to the 19th (not even the 20th) century both in terms of equipment and staffing. |
Charles.nerd:Some 10 years ago, it took some foreign students (especially Nigerians and Indians) an average of 3-5 years to complete 1 year MA or MSc degrees at Liverpool Hope University College (then awarding Liverpool University degrees even in subjects e.g. theology not offered at Liverpool, funny isn't it). Those guys were working like no man's business, making pounds and doing the minimal study possible. After earning their MA/MSc degrees, some went on to do ND, HND, professional certificates and managed to hit the 10 years residence criteria to earn Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) on the basis of Long Residence and ultimately acquired their British Citizenships. GOD BLESS LABOUR PARTY Times have really changed in the UK. lol. ![]() |
aybaba73@yahoo.co.uk:What a blatant demonstration of ignorance, shallowness and voluntary helotry. It's only in Nigeria that this sort of stuff happens and some hapless boneheads would, under the anonymity of web fora such as this, defend selfish, shameless, Christ-less pimps posing as men of God when they are clearly wolves in sheep's clothing. |
pro01: Lol. In that case, I'm not sure I've ever met any "good Christian", and I probably never will. All the Christians I know (including, if not especially, clergymen) seem very reluctant to go "home", since they are probably unsure about the existence of such a place. Bunch of jokers. All these so called religious people are hypocrites. They say one thing and do precisely the opposite. They are in deed a bunch of jokers. |

An initial challenge was heard on 21 September 2012. Following the hearing, a UK Border Agency spokesperson said: "London Metropolitan University's Tier 4 sponsor licence remains revoked. London Metropolitan has failed to get its sponsor status restored and the judge has not granted interim relief. 'UKBA agreed to allow existing genuine students to continue studying at the university until their course has ended or the end of the academic year, whichever is sooner — as long as they meet the right standards. But students who are here illegally and do not meet our immigration criteria will not be allowed to stay. Revoking the university's licence was the right course of action and we will continue to fight the University's challenge at the full hearing." Our decision to revoke London Metropolitan University's licence therefore remains in place. However, the judgment does allow existing genuine students to stay on at the university until their course has ended or the academic year, whichever is sooner - as long as they meet Tier 4 requirements. This means we will make additional checks on affected students at the university. We will update our guidance for students at London Metropolitan University in light of this judgment. In the meantime London Met students should contact the help centre if you have any questions about what the court judgment means for you. topsyking: Many passengers escaped death when two trains collided in Lagos on Wednesday. Four people were however injured. It was learnt that the accident was due to the absence of signal operator at the Mushin Station terminus in Lagos...It was gathered that the signal operator had gone to defecate and asked his assistant to take over but his assistant forgot, leading to the collision...the accident occurred because the train operators were not properly guided...THIS IS A SHAME. NIGERIA IS A JOKE AND A FAILED STATE! |
IF THEY CAN THINK THROUGH THIS, SO WILL THEY GREATER INVENTIONS. NIGERIA NEEDS TO INVEST HEAVILY IN THESE GIRLS. SADLY, THE IGNORAMUS OCCUPYING ASO ROCK HAS NO CLUES. BESIDES, NIGERIAN LEGISLOOTERS ARE BUSY DOING THEIR OWN THING. |
In civilised and developed societies, the likes of Dino Melaye - on account of lack of indiscretion and integrity - wouldn't meddle in public affairs. Quite clearly, Dino Melaye has no moral standing and justifications to pontificate in Nigeria's economic and socio-political matters. |

Justin Welby set to be named as new archbishop of Canterbury https://sphotos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/c0.0.843.403/p843x403/523523_131379627011747_1657786777_n.jpg Downing Street says it expects announcement soon, with bishop of Durham widely expected to be Rowan Williams's successor Justin Welby, the bishop of Durham, is expected to be unveiled as the next archbishop of Canterbury within days as Lambeth Palace prepares to break weeks of silence on the identity of Rowan Williams's successor. After a selection process shrouded in secrecy and mired in internal wrangling, the 56-year-old evangelical Old Etonian appears set to take over the leadership of the Church of England from Williams, who will step down at the end of the year. On Wednesday neither Lambeth Palace nor the church showed any sign of wanting to lift the effective news blackout that has characterised the work of the Crown Nominations Commission (CNC) since the end of October, and a spokesperson refused to comment on reports that Welby had officially accepted the job. But his name is believed to have been passed to Downing Street after it emerged as the preferred option of the 16-member CNC. The prime minister's official spokesman said on Wednesday that Downing Street was expecting an announcement soon. Other more experienced candidates for the position included John Sentamu, the archbishop of York, Graham James, the bishop of Norwich, and James Jones, the bishop of Liverpool. But Welby's supporters say that, despite his relatively short clerical career – he was enthroned as a bishop less than a year ago – he remains the best man for the job. A Cambridge graduate who spent his twenties working in the oil industry, first for the French oil company Elf Aquitaine and then for the oil exploration group Enterprise Oil plc, Welby only took his first steps in the clergy in the 1990s. He then embarked on a swift rise through the ranks of the church, becoming dean of Liverpool in December 2007 and bishop of Durham in November last year. His experience in business and ethics made him a natural choice to join the parliamentary commission on banking standards earlier this year. Williams, who is hoping to have a valedictory landmark success later this month when legislation approving women bishops comes before the General Synod, advised whoever does become the 105th man to sit on the throne of St Augustine to take a keen interest in the media. Speaking in Auckland, he quoted the theologian Karl Barth when asked what qualities his successor would need, saying he would be one who preaches "with a Bible in one hand and a newspaper in the other". He went on: "You have to be cross-referencing all the time and saying, 'How does the vision of humanity and community in the Bible map on to these issues of poverty, privation, violence and conflict?' And you have to use what you read in the newspaper to prompt and direct the questions that you put to the Bible: 'Where is this going to help me?' So I think somebody who likes reading the Bible and likes reading newspapers would be a good start." Long the front-runner in the succession contest, Welby's potential appointment has prompted intense speculation in recent days, with leading bookmakers Ladbrokes and William Hill both suspending betting after a spike in interest in the bishop of Durham. The speculation increased on Wednesday when it emerged he had cancelled an appearance on the BBC Radio 4 programme Any Questions that had been scheduled for Friday in Country Durham. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/nov/07/justin-welby-archbishop-canterbury-williams LIKE THE CATHOLIC CHURCH WHICH DITCHED CARDINAL FRANCIS ARINZE, THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND HAS DITCHED ARCHBISHOP JOHN SENTAMU WHO, EXCEPT FOR HIS BLACK SKIN (BEING ORIGINALLY FROM UGANDA), RANKS NEXT TO ARCHBISHOP ROWAN WILLIAMS, THE RETIRING ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY, IS MORE EXPERIENCED AND BETTER EDUCATED THAN THIS WHITE BRITISH ARISTOCRAT. |

AS LOGICA RIGHTLY POINTED OUT IN THE IMF REPORT, NIGERIA ISN'T EVEN IN THE TOP 20 FASTEST GROWING ECONOMIES IN THE WORLD. I GUESS YOU'RE A LOCAL, SELF-DELUDED, CHAMPION BUSINESSMAN. |
I bought Oceanic bank shares in the year 2007/2008 (which I now regret, thanks to Cecilia Ibru - who deserves acid bath and would one day get it unfailingly; you would all read it on NL one day). I am aware that Ecobank had taken over the defunct Oceanic bank. Sometime this year, Ecobank announced what each Oceanic share taken over is worth (sadly lost a lot of money). Message reaching me says Ecobank issued me a cheque in dollars. I have no financial dealings/links with Ecobank except for my Oceanic shares now held with Ecobank. Anyone knows what could be happening here? Fraud, scam, etc. |

I know that UK grants individuals right to hold gun but you can't carry it about as it is the case in the USA. Nonetheless, Niaja is a funny country. The Nigerian government doesn't grant gun license but foreign residents (British, Americans, Labenese, etc) (il)legitimately carry guns (at homes and in their cars) in self-defense ; the Nigerian government doesn't grant gun license, yet it is a known secret that criminals hire guns from the police to carry out their nefarious acts. |
I am wondering whether or not individuals can legally obtain licence to hold guns in Nigeria solely for the purpose of countermeasure or self-defence, just as it is in the USA. |
