It is not true, it is mere nostalgia. Nigeria has never been a 'good' country in the way some people remember. It is simply that life became less complicated due to modern access to things like the internet and mobile phones. In the past, there was no electricity or good roads. Very few people could afford imported used cars, build sizeable houses, or send their children to higher institutions. I remember in 1994/95, families couldn't even afford a loaf of bread or a whole tuber of yam, raw yams were sold in slices and using a kerosene stove was considered a luxury. While those specific things are changing, life remains very difficult.
However, with more corruption, yahoo and ritual, life seems to be softer now.

Whatever Tinubu does and no matter how hard he tries to be the only candidate on the ballot, he will not return re-elected. The only reason Nigerians have been patient is because they want to follow the legal route and take out their pound of flesh by exercising their right at the ballot. It will be naïve for any one man to think he will deprive a nation of over 200 million people of that right and continue to enjoy legitimacy.

You're missing the key point, the President doesn’t mind an opposition; in fact, he prefers multiple candidates on the ballot. But he wants them from the North, and not the South, especially not the South-South or South-East. That way, in 2027, when INEC announces the results, every 1 million votes from a bandit-ravaged Northern state will be offset by at least 1.5 million votes from a relatively safe Southern state.

This is 2026 and not 2014, let's use ojoro to cancel ojoro.

President Bola Tinubu is helping Southern politicians demystify their Northern counterparts, and lessons are being learned. If this is all he can achieve in eight years, then he has not totally failed. Nigeria does not belong to only one set of unproductive people.

I think the Minister asked very valid question. Instead of insulting him or the President, ADC should come out and explain the truth to Nigerians, politics is not sentimental or emotional.

This period is probably the worst time for any politician to be a Minister. The President has refused to fund Ministries for two years, and Ministers have little to steal from, because it is only overhead release that Ministies get from Government, no capital. Ministers earn less than ₦1,000,000.00 per month.

I think it is plausible for any politician ( Minister) with a sizeable support base to resign and pursue a career in an elective position.
