Thank you. In essence application date is 01 April.fixed deposit can be done 01 March and reflect its fixed for 3,months with maturity in the month of June.hope this example is in line with your explanation quote author=Mefia91 post=65901380]You can apply after one month but the fixed deposit cert must show that the money is fixed for 3 months.
|

For Proof of Funds, Just to enquire as regards fixed deposit. Does the date you start the fix deposit matter? example can one do FD say like 3 weeks or 1 month before application is sent, is it ok?or must the money be fixed 3 months prior the visa application. As I see most fixed deposits roll over after one month cycle, not sure if it states which date the fixed started. |

I learnt from this..thanks. So it means FD can be d only proof of funds used for application.
quote author=Frankrobbn1 post=65870127] annaliese88,
If this fixed deposit is accesible to you towards the time of your studies in Canada/visa approval, you can use it as your proof of funds and submit all necessary documentation to support it.
But if reverse is the case, i.e funds on your FD can't be accessible to you towards the period of your studies in Canada, try as much as possible to transfer them into your personal account.
|

Frankrobbn1, Thank you for your response/advise. Thank you to all that responded to my concerns. In my SOP I actually gave reasons for the change in career and the benefits of the course of study. I am not really looking at option-1 because the VO may say if I wanted Chemistry why did I not go for chemistry from the onset, why changing course after 2 refusals, that's myown thoughts anyway. However I dont know if they feel career progression is only when you further studies related to your first degree. Is there any harm to apply for the same course the third time? What does personal circumstances mean? what does one use to show ties to his country? Frankrobbn1: chigrad, Option 1: BSc (Chemistry)____work experience (Business)_____ Intended program PGD (Chemistry)
If you decide to take this route you need to provide a rational explanation to why you haven't been following a career progression ever since you left university. You studied chemistry in your first degree and have been into business for 3 years and now decide to go back to your previous studies in chemistry after spending 3 years in Business. Your reasons must be strong and convincing enough Sir!
Option 2: BSc (Chemistry)____work expertise (Business)____ intended program PGD(Business Admin)
I advise you stick to this since you already have relevant experience in Business and also you have been following a 3 years career progression in Business, it's best you continue with this. You can find a convincing story to put up to why you deviated from your academic pursuit(chemistry) to business. What motivated you into business?, what you will tend to achieve after completion of this program, a brief description of your experience while in Business for the past 3 years.
Finally, the both options listed will scale through only with a good letter of explanation.
All the best! |

Hi All thanks for your input. Please what is your advise. Do I re -apply with the same course in Business Admin (Graduate Diploma not Masters as I have 2:2) or do I change to a course related to my BSc. which is Chemistry? Thank you. Frankrobbn1: Bravo02,
An applicant has been following a 3 years career progression that is reasonable inlight with their intending program and now wishes to study a masters degree in Canada to enhance career prospects in Nigeria. Please what made it an Automatic Refusal Sir?
Asapant, Please don't laugh at someone's predicament, we are here to give answers, suggestions and proffer solutions to prospective applicants not to make mockery of their situation. Moreover the applicant has been following a career progression in his intending program. So I don't understand why you should say it's a red flag, or were you the one that planted the red flag on his application? Please lets try to make things easy for people here. If you don't have answers to individual query, jump to the ones you have reasonable input on
Thank you! |

I don't intend doing a course online, All I want to verify is, will a VO question why one should come to Australia to study a course if they discover that the same University also offers the same programme online.
You will not be able to claim points for the online/distance learning option of study during PR.
|

Hi All, It is advisable to apply for a Masters programme that has an online option?Does it reduce chances of visa. Somone once said online courses still requires a student to be residing in Australia to undergo the programme.I dont know how true this is. |

WEIRDPC: Thank you It is possible to secure admission without using an agent.
I don't even see why you should use an agent in the first place.
Declaring a baby isn't an automatic refusal.
what's your plan for the baby ?
Is the baby accompanying you to Canada?
The onus is on you to convince the Visa officer what your plans are. Show the Visa officer your plans on how to take care of the baby while in school. Register the baby in a pre school before applying. Show evidences of additional funding to cater for the baby and you will fine
Best wishes |

Hi, is it possible to get admission without using an agent? Went through an agent in my previous application, I intend applying myself now. Also if a baby is declared during visa application, is that an automatic visa refusal. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by chigrad: 8:15am On Mar 10, 2018 |
Thank you Frankrobbn1: chigrad, You should present this with passion and full interest. There is nothing bad changing career path. Since you are business incline for the past 3 years and going for MBA shouldn't be a problem here. I must say your SOP was not properly written and convincing enough to the visa officer.
Changing a program that is reasonable in light with your previous studies/job role does not in any way sound desperation. Just that, You have to go through the process of securing Admission from the scratch. Which is quite stressful.
I advise you present your previous case well, other than going through admission process all over again. But if you feel you can't convince the visa officer then you can go for a program that is related to your previous studies. I believe a strong SOP should help your case here.
Shalom! |

I actually stated all these points in my SOP. Is it now advisable to look for a course that is in line with my BSc. Or will that sound like desperation Frankrobbn1: . chigrad, This is very easy to tackle. Since you said you previously studied Chem for your first degree and having been into business for the past 3 years and intending to go for a business administration for your masters. You need to explain this to the Visa officer that there is a career progression in your pursuit and endeavor to write convinincly why you choose to pursue business admin for your masters degree and why you deviated from chemistry to business after your first degree. Try as much as possible to link your job role to your intended program on your SOP.
This is what the visa officer require from you and when this is done, you will be fine. |

Hello. I applied for study permit twice and was denied in all. I requested for my GCMS note which I'll attach. I have some concerns based on the reasons given. I read Chemistry for first degree, applied for Masters in Business admin. I have 3years work experience as a Business Development officer.prior to this I worked 1year as a chemist. Pls based on the GCMS note, what does Personal Circumstances and Family composition mean? During the application I applied alone without my spouse. I will appreciate everyone's response. Thank you

Pls can someone help with this question chigrad: Hello All, Please I need your advise. I want to ask questions related to proof of fund for study permit. The funds you declare in SOA must it be after school fees payment? Can statement be printed prior to school fees payment and the receipt of payment included in the application to show that that deduction was actually for school fees. Example; if the living cost is AUD 20,000 and one has equivalent of AUD27,000 printed statement , now paid AUD12,000 for fees, now left with AUD15,000.Can this fly as now in the physically has 15k while the SOA has 27K, consider the monthly inflow is consistent and the account has a good turn over during 6 months period.
For Fixed deposit, Does the date the start date of the fixed deposit matter? or must it as well reflect that the money has been fixed for like 3 months before visa application date? Thanks. |

thanks so much. Can I take off the job history now or wait when I get ITA Dammiehar: If this job was not in Canada, you will not be getting any points for it. You can just include it in your spouse's personal history, you will not have to provide any reference. If his present job is also not in Canada, just put it in personal history too, except you want to include it in work history and be asked to provide a reference letter that you don't need. |
