Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by chigrad: 3:02pm On Nov 27, 2023
Hello all,
As of October 1, 2023, you no longer need to get an upfront medical examination before you submit your application for permanent residence through Express Entry.

Does this statement from IRCC and IOM imply we cannot complete upfront medical? Or can one still complete upfront medical?
Thank you.

Thank you. Will request GCMS. I meant 8k in statement. 5k is what I intended travelling with just to hold , which may not be spent as its excludes flight ticket , feeding and accommodation.
shootmind:
I want to understand something. Your bank statement is 8k CAD and you want to spend 5kCAD? Why do you want to travel with more than half the money you have in your bank statement?

How do you intend to manage yourself when you get back. Do you mean 18k or 8k bank statement to take 5k to canada.

Try order for gcms note.

Good Day all,
Visitor visa application was refused recently and these were the reasons they gave

- I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as per paragraph 179. I am refusing your application because you have not established hat you will leave Canada, based on the following factors:

-Your assets and proof of funds are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself ( an any accompanying family member(s) if applicable

-The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stary given the details you have provided your application

Can anyone advise on what would have resulted to these decisions.

General Info
I requested for 2 weeks vacation to visit family
Had bank statement of $8k CAD ,stated I will travel with 5k CAD for the 2 weeks, as every other cost will be covered by sibling( accomodation feeding etc during my visit.
My sibling in Canada who is a temporary resident invited me
I am not yet married
I work in a financial institution
provided reference letter from my organisation stating I work with them
Submitted SOP , stating I will return to continue my job which I love,Also stated I will be back to be with my retired parents

Can anyone advise on what would have resulted to these decisions.
Thank you

Hi all,
In a situation where someone has a 4 year visitor and wants to apply for sowp (spouse's study permit is valid for 2 years) , what will happen ?
Will the sowp (2 years validity) cancel the validity of the 4 visitor's visa or what will happen?

Hi all.,
Please advise PNP or CEC which is better route for PR?

Worked in Manitoba for 3 months already.
But leaving for another job by June in Manitoba Should be eligible for MPNP - December ending 2022.

CEC -February 2023.

Presently on an open work permit working in Manitoba but getting better job offers in Alberta and Ontario.

Now my question is which is advisable to go for with the current trends?
MPNP will take some time before giving ITA ,then subsequently take some months to process before giving nomination that will used for PR application. So that may run into 2023.

CEC should be ready for by February 2023 all things being equal.
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by chigrad: 10:49pm On May 10, 2022
Hi all,
To be eligible for CEC can one use 1 year experience from 3 different jobs with 3 different NOC (like NOC1111 worked for 3 months..NOC 2222 worked for 5 months etc)? Or must all be in 1 NOC?

2-If one can use from different NOC ,for the PR application can the person use the NOC with more years of experience (like 5 years that was worked outside Canada) as the primary NOC or must it be the NOC for a job in Canada.

Thank you.
Please were the charges from Nigerian bank high? Or what was the range like?
Techbrotomiwa:
Hello, I have used RBC before to send from a bank in Nigeria. All I did was to go to the bank and told them to give me their details as I will be doing a wire transfer. They have me stuff like their transit code, bank address, etc. When I made the transfer from my Naija bank, it took about 2-3 days to reflect in my RBC

At the airport in Lagos or Abuja she should tell them she needs assistance (wheelchair) even though she can walk by herself.
That way from depature uptill Manitoba she will be given assistance, meaning there will always be a person assigned to her at every arrival point to take her to the next departure point. All airlines do this so its not a new thing.
adelolo:
please i want to invite my mum to canada and she will be travelling for the first time on temporary visa and not conversant with travelling abroad at all. her final location is manitoba, how possible is it to get her assistance with boarding from lagos , departing from the aircraft at toronto and going around at the airport to get the next flight from toronto to manitoba. Please assist with suggestions. Do any airline offers that service if so, please what airline?

Hi all please what is your advise as per the link below for proof of funds

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/proof-funds.html

For someone who came to Canada with 3 years work permit and now eligible to apply for PR after 1 year of work .
If applying under CEC or FSW, must the person show proof of funds or not ?

PPR via good TEF result.

I will like to say thank you to all members here who contributed with vital information for me and other people here.

My French was very poor infact I will say almost zero before I started French lessons.I tried on my own but was not easy thus sought for professional touch.
I saw Tobidam online and from this thread so I contacted the school.I had a trail class and was impressed.
Started classes with flexible and suitable timing. It was not easy ...rough in some situations . Tutor was tough when needed and commended good efforts also.
However to succeed I had to put in more individual practise to what I learnt.I learnt for a period of 8 months and sat for TEF.
To God be the glory I cleared all my papers at 1 sitting .Got the required scores for the purpose I needed it for.
CE -C1,CO -C1,EE-B1,EO-B2.
The writing we had technical hitch due to poor network and challenges on the keyboard for special french characters. But I don't care anymore as visa is been approved.

I highly recommend Tobidam to any one seeking to sit for TEF as the tutors do everything to improve your weak areas, encourage you to study hard, flexible lessons from the comfort of your home/office/business place and value for money.

Wishing you all the best in your studies and Canada waka plans.

Hi all,
Please what does this statement in this screenshot imply?
Does it imply that IRCC will not recognise and process application with an updated information/ document sent via email / webform? ( example if one sends an updated information after seeing a pre-assessment update via gcms or realised a document was not submitted and decides to send relevant documents to address the situation)

Full explanation of REVIEW REQUIRED

Review of eligibility

Review of whether the applicant meets the eligibility requirement. This stage is also referred to A11.2 which refers to Section 11.2 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. This stage is a very time-intensive process because all documentation that has been submitted is checked for validity and relevance at this stage. To make the process efficient eligibility review takes place in 2 stages, first a case analyst, a program assistant or a case processing agent will review the application and make a recommendation. Then an officer (decision making authority) will review it and make a final determination. If there are any issues, the application can be sent for further review. This can involve an additional document request (ADR), verification calls, personal interview, etc. To address such issues the file may be transferred to a local visa office (LVO) or to another visa office depending on IRCC workload. Note that the Eligibility Review is conducted only for the primary applicant, and in that process points for the spouse are also evaluated. There is no separate eligibility review for the spouse; there is just one eligibility criteria for the application.
At the first stage if there are concerns with a document or the case analyst or the program assistant wants the officer to have a careful review into a specific document then they will flag it with the message "Review Required". If the applicant has met the eligibility criteria, but a specific document needs further review from an officer then the GCMS notes will contain a message that the "applicant has met the eligibility", or “ready to finalize”. (Ready to finalize means that the assistant or analyst is recommending that the officer review the file before making a final decision) However, if there are concerns with eligibility then there will be a review required but there will be no message like “ready to finalize” or "pass". The message will specifically state that the job duties do not match, or the employment cannot be verified, or the number of years of work experience claimed cannot be verified. The final decision rests on the immigration officer. He may override the decision of the analyst / assistant or go with the analysis of the analyst / assistant. This is why eligibility is only passed when an officer conclusively marks the eligibility as "passed". Some of the common reasons for Review Required are related to:

Proof of funds (POF). Sometimes POF verification can take place again during Security Screening.

Reference letter

Work experience

Employment verification

If you answered yes to any Statutory (Stat) Questions

As a result of these 2 stages the GCMS notes for eligibility review can have up to 3-4 notes. One will be by an analyst or an assistant, and the next will be by an officer. Due to the 2 stage review, MyCIC message may change from "The eligibility review has been met" to "The responsible office is currently verifying if your application meets the eligibility requirements under the immigration program for which you have applied". If in the notes section you see "Pass candidate" it just refers to your profile and score which is not the same as passed by an officer for Eligibility Review.
Some applicants may see "passed candidate" in their GCMS notes; this refers to when the application is passed based only on the applicant's profile as claimed by the applicant. The status will change to "In Progress" when the processing of the Eligibility Review starts.

Review required does not necessarily mean it's a negative review. All the best.

But now I have a small issue nairaland. In the PPR, they noted my passport must be valid for the duration of your expected length of stay in Canada.
• Please note that we cannot issue a visa beyond the expiry date on the passport.

My passport is to expire on the 2nd of March 2022. And my expected stay in August ending 2022. Please what should I do?
