well, Buhari is actually right (and I can't believe I just typed that) it's true. if you die in the Mediterranean or in the Sahara, while crossings into Europe… you're on your own. if they catch you in Libya and turn you into a slave or a caged animal you brought that upon yourself. if you succeed and manage to get there (Europe) who do you expect to feed you, house you, take care of you?

Somebody once told me that there is a part of Okrika that is Igbo speaking but I didn't believe it.
You better believe it. I heard it directly from an okrika (ogu bolo) lady. they do speak Igbo language even more than their own Wakrike (nwa-Akịrịka) language which they've all but abandoned. lots and lots of them have Igbo ancestry both from the paternal and maternal sides. all efforts to compel them to stop speaking Igbo in favor of their okrika (which by the way is not similar to ijaw) has so far failed. even the kalabari too. remember Jimmy erekosima "Rex " Lawson? he sang many Igbo songs.

BRIGHTRIVERS:
unnecessary Show of grammar is all I see in this comment. If we don't wish to state the obvious would you kill all Riverians? look here my brother, my grand father speaks Etche fluently but can't understand igbo language. Does that suggest anything to you? There's both a language and geographical difference between the both,no matter how little and time has made us different, even character-wise. Brother If you don't like that fact I'm in my house, you can come and kill me.
The emboldened statement is clearly a lie.

Etche language is indistinguishable from Igbo language as spoken in Ngor-Okpuala & Owerri West LGAs in Imo state.

BRIGHTRIVERS: I am from Etche. I am not denying the language similarities but what will you gain if I say I am Igbo?
You typed the above statement earlier on.

Are you referring to the Enugu "waawa" Igbo? Or the Abakaliki or Nsukka versions? Are they the ones your grandfather doesn't understand?

Even if the Ikwerre & Ogba people claim to speak a different language, nde etche cannot make this same claim and expect to be believed.

Besides it's doubtful you are really from etche or anywhere near there as you seem to know next-to-nothing about the area.

BRIGHTRIVERS:
I am from Etche. I am not denying the language similarities but what will you gain if I say I am Igbo?
That would simply be a matter of stating the obvious fact, whereas denying being Igbo would be grandiose self-delusion tantamount to burying your head in the sand.
CultureRe: Are There Two Types Of Ikwerre? by chijiblaze(m): 4:56am On Dec 17, 2017
bigfrancis21:
Yes there are differences. Dialects spoken around Northern Ikwerre land are more 'central' or understandable to the average Igbo and those spoken in the south tend to be more 'concentrated'. Generally, the type of Ikwerre spoken in PH metropolis is more centralized and understandable. But as you move into the interior of Ikwerre land, it becomes more concentrated.
By this rate not all Ikwerre people would be able to understand the various forms of Ikwerre. Northern Ikwerre could be as divergent from the southern ones as any other Igbo dialects. So when "WE-THE-SOUTH-SOUTH" claims that Ikwerre is not Igbo, maybe they could be reminded that Ikwerre is not Ikwerre!
Foreign AffairsRe: Five Things To Know About Trump's Jerusalem Decision by chijiblaze(m): 7:44am On Dec 10, 2017
Kemperor:
1- Why did Trump decide to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital?
… … …
Many say that it was rather a move intended to please domestic supporters, including his right-wing Evangelical base and the pro-Israel lobby.
… … …
5- Why does Jerusalem matter?

Jerusalem is home to sacred relics, historical figures, and holy sites, shared by the world’s three Abrahamic religions—Islam, Judaism, and Christianity. A compound, which is the holiest site for Judaism and the third holiest site for Islam , is located in the eastern part of Jerusalem. The compound is called the Haram al Sharif, or Noble Sanctuary, by Muslims—which houses the Aqsa mosque—and the Temple Mount by Jews.

The territory has been a source of conflict between Israel and Palestine, and the city has also seen centuries of struggle for control by Muslims, Jews and Christians.

The eastern part of the city fell under Egyptian and Jordanian control, along with the West Bank and Gaza, during the first Arab-Israeli war in 1948, when Israel captured almost 80 percent of Palestine.

Israel occupied the city during the Six-Day war in 1967, calling it Israel's “eternal, undivided capital.” It undermined the citizenship of Palestinians, who were given “permanent residents” status instead, which means that Israel can revoke their identification at any time.

The Palestinian uprising against Israel in 2000, or the second Intifada, broke out in Jerusalem and spread across Palestine. And the latest unrest was sparked in the city in July, when Israel began using metal detectors and installed surveillance cameras at the Aqsa compound. It wasn't the first time Muslims have been prevented from praying at the Harem al Sharif by Israel, sparking unrest across the city.
First of all, the claim by Muslims to Jerusalem being the 3rd holiest site for their religion is and has always been a dubious claim.
Islam has no relics or tombs to prove its claim, unlike the Jews and Christians.
You can still see the tombs of Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebecca as well as the long list of kings who had ruled from Jerusalem, over the kingdom of Judah (the Judaic/Jewish kingdom).
The tomb of Jesus is also a major tourist attraction/ pilgrimage site in Jerusalem.
Islam has no such sites - not Mohammed saw, not even Saladin who reconquered the city from the crusaders!
The truth is that Muslims over the years had always disregarded Jerusalem/ Palestine as an insignificant backwater area to be forgotten. and throughout the period of the area being under the control of the Ottoman (Muslim) empire, there was no major building/ construction/ modernization or expansion of the city until the return of the Jews.
The so called haram Al Sharif/ Al aqsa mosque is simply built on top of the ruins of the temple of Jerusalem, the holy of holies of the Jewish religion just to spite the Jews and prevent them from rebuilding the temple or even using the site. It was then that they came to associate the story of the journey to heaven.
I'm still at a loss how some people could provide evidence to historians, archeologists and scientists of the persistent claim that some fellow ascended into heaven from that site. (This argument is against both Jesus Christ & Mohammed saw) even the Koran does not mention the name Jerusalem in relation to the ascent claim but simply identified it as the far mosque.
Well there was no mosque in Jerusalem at the time.
Since the fall of the ottoman empire in WWI and the establishment of the state of Israel, had always specifically stated that their capital would be as always- Jerusalem, their spiritual capital for millennia.
Well Jerusalem to Arabs/ Muslims is said to be the 3rd most important site, they have others too, but for the Jews, it's their number 1 and only.

PoliticsRe: Give Me One Reason Why Turkish Is Supporting Biafra? by chijiblaze(m): 1:08pm On Jul 24, 2017
Turkey (some parts of the country) are very likely to support Biafra because they have their own agitation for secession too.
The Kurdish people are claiming a different identity from their Turkish rulers. They want a country of their own.
The struggle has been ongoing for decades and even degenerated into an armed insurgency spearheaded by the armed wing of the Kurdistan workers party (P.K.K). Kurdistan and Biafra are Birds of a feather....

The Turkish people are dealing with their own form of power-grabbing, human rights violating evil dictator in the form of Recip Tayyip Erdogan. To the point that half of the country has been placed under arrest/ termination/ surveillance and accused of coup plotting!
Turkish people (even the non-Kurds) are suffering the impact and feel the urge to fight back. As well as the similarities between their situation and that of the Biafrans.

Igbo Biafrans living and doing business in Turkey far outnumber all other Nigerians.
The lobbying and awareness created by this group mounts serious pressure on all sides of the political divide, and is stronger than the feeble or even non existent impact made by Nigeria.

PoliticsRe: Ailing President Buhari Met With APC Governors In London by chijiblaze(m): 12:19pm On Jul 24, 2017
This photo is "FAKE NEWS!" for the following reasons:-
1. The people in the picture cannot be identified. You can't see their faces. There's one person who dressed up with a shawl over his neck, in the fashion style of the Imo state governor: Roaches Okorocha, another one wears round rim eyeglasses, similar to that of the Kaduna state governor, Mallam El Rufai, but since we can't see their faces, how can we tell?
2. How many governors on the platform of the ruling APC party, are there in Nigeria?
And how many of them made the alleged trip to London to allegedly meet with the ailing president?
Now how many of them are identifiable (including their lookalikes) from the picture?
Even the prominent ones e.g. the governor of Lagos state Akin. Ambode is obviously not there. News has it that he was (still is) busy battling flooding menace all over his domain and issuing quit notices to violators of the building codes.
3. Who are the other people in the picture, whose faces are neither visible nor they unidentifiable? Who is that man, standing beside the alleged president, dressed casually by flying out his shirt? Were the governors accompanied by pressmen? If so, who are these pressmen?
4. Who took the picture, and why did s/he take just one single shot?
5. I can see on the dining table, bottles of 5Alive pulp, and bottled water, not the kind sold in London supermarkets.
6. Isn't it amazing that the president's wife and better half has been barred from seeing her husband by "the powers that be" a.k.a. "CABAL" that prompted her complaints against the Jackals and Hyenas getting their due punishment on return of the Lion king? Same goes for the editor of The popular Guardian newspaper, who was locked out of the Nigeria house in London, but the door is surprisingly wide open to political associates and party leaders. Why is that so?
7. Why wasn't the alleged visit publicized prior to the journey?
8. If the president is is as healthy as depicted in the photo what stops him from video-addressing the Nation?

OK..now...make they form their own church...make them appoint their tribesmen as Bishop and Popes.

It is really sad that Nigerian Christianity as a whole is so riven by tribalism and by arguments over who should be the leader of a church.

See what happened in Assemblies of God, CAC and so on.
Mbaise has only catholic churches. All the others make up less than 2% of the population.

ontruth:
Must you comment trash? TB is more useful to Nigeria economy and it's citizens than your father. take it or leave it.
My Father...(bless his soul)...worked hard to make his money, honestly, while contributing to the development and growth of this (ungrateful) country. He was part of the people who built the Kiri dam, to supply electricity and irrigation to Adamawa and its surrounding states, while dodging the gruesome Maitatsine group a.k.a boko haram prequel. Also lectured in the federal Poly, Educating the northern youth, who have now issued a quit notice.
Well I don't know if T.B. is your father, biologically, or spiritually, or biologico-spiritual, but making dubious money from gullible idiotic people cannot compare in terms of usefulness to the country to the achievements I listed earlier. Besides one is enhancing/ entrenching education and engineering construction, the other is busy spreading superstition, ignorance and witch-hunting.
Now back to the main topic of to-leave-or-not-to-leave for T.B.J. to Israel, and the attendant effects on the Nigerian economy,
You may wish to know that his so called contributions can be in from of taxes, if he/ his temple does pay at all or the spending of the visitors/ pilgrims/ tourists. If he goes, these gullible fellows would still seek another charlatan fake wonder-wrecker to continue to soothe their spiritual inferiority complex. (as T.B. isn't the only one) They'd still spend the same money, economy looses nothing. But he will face stricter scrutiny, from the authorities on his activities even curtail on advertising fake miracles and wonder cures that don't work, not mentioning false prophecies and death predictions on important people which would definitely land him in hot soup. He must pay tax! MUST. and he'd find the more educated and religiously skeptical Israelis are more difficult to con and dupe than superstitious Nigerians.
By the way. Why should he make such fuss about leaving? Is he the only one?
